Snicker Doodles With a Dash of Love.

November 29, 2011  |  baking, cookies  |  Share

I pinky promise I will post more. Onward.

I love cheese. And texting, a lot.

I love Cheese-Its a lot. Lots and lots of them, and even more so, I really enjoy the Party Mix. This weekend, I tore a box a part. I was a bit picky though, and I only left the pretzels, I ate half the party and left in the crinkly clear bag, oh wells! Pretzel party?

Did I mention I love texting? I recently got an iPhone and it makes it SO much cooler. not really, but I can texts pictures. I’m picture happy, which makes me picture text happy.

I had the sudden urge to make snicker doodles. We ordered pizza and wings and went to town. It’s been quite some time since I’ve eaten a buffalo wing because I feel like quite a little savage, all messy and everything. It’s different–I’ll make a mess baking, flour in my hair all over my apron and the floor, but “Wo, Nelly!” on that buffalo sauce. Stains. Hot. Spicy.

Snickerdoodles?

First, let look at some pictures from my phone!:

<–A pretty I found on the way to class and a cute little pup (she’s mine)

Phone Pictures capture those things when we forget our cameras! Woop Woop!

Look at this nuggets of awesomeness. So cute. Your heart’s just so cute. As a little fig newton.

This was perfect at sundown! So cute. Pinterest is ballin’. You know it.

Cookie Time. Nah-nah-nah–nahnah–nah nah can’t touch this..

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
We didn’t have cream of tartar SO you can substitute. We found this answer “One teaspoon baking powder is equivalent to 1/4 teaspoon baking soda plus 5/8 teaspoon cream of tartar. If there is additional baking soda that does not fit into the equation, simply add it to the batter.” AKA make the baking soda 3 teaspoons and add a dash more. They were perfect. Just saying.

<–Look at that reflection in the KitchenAid Mixer. Beautiful.

Epic Cristco coming at you:

Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter, shortening, vanilla, and eggs. Mix Well.

Look at that!

Next, Mix the flour, cream of tartar (or whatever), and baking soda. Then Mix it in!

<–These things are like the bomb.com. Plastic. Awesome. and some -ness.

<—Mix. Duh.

Mix rest of the sugar (or more) and add cinnamon. Add it. do it. BUT not too much..

Then you roll that dough into ball shapes and you plop them into that sugar so fast “they won’t know what hit them”.

<–Bake, baby, bake.

Check those bad boys with a nice colorful toothpick:

Have you ever seen perfection? Well allow me to show you..

Can you say, “Get in my belly?” We made them smaller which in turn made them way cuter.

They’re perfect for afternoon tea (aka evening milk).

I couldn’t help myself. I just ate a bite. THEN took a picture. It’s only sometimes classy.

<—Hello friends. Make me some more friends will ya? Kthanks.

<–Everyone should know how to make these. It’s like BAKING 101. Get on it, be a baker. Be all professional about it..or just throw the flour why don’t ya.
