Best Baking Accessories for Teens

👤There were a lot of items that weren't included. I did not get 304 STAINLESS, more like 24 STAINLESS steel pieces. The cupcake holders pictured were not included. They should be talking about advertisments. I will not be buying from them again.

These mats were only used for a short time before they deteriorated and ruined a baking project.

👤The baking mats are great. The quality is excellent and the price is good. I use them for everything in the oven. You name it, it's from oven pizzas. I love that they help protect my baking sheets by helping food slide off the non stick surface. It is also very convenient to just wipe them clean or put them in the top shelf of the dishwasher. You can cut off 1/3 of the paper towel roll to use as a holder, and just roll up the mats and slip inside the ring for easy storage of the mats in a drawer. I highly recommend them. We use these mats almost daily and I have had them for almost a year. They look brand new. I have not had any issues with mats becoming worn or staining. I use them to cook most items at up to 450 degrees but have not had any issues with them so far. I drape them over my cups in the top rack of the dishwasher and then when dry roll them up and slip a napkin ring or rings cut from and empty paper towel roll into a drawer so they fit easily into a drawer. These things are fantastic and have paid for themselves many times over in the superior non stick surface, ease of clean up and the cost of parchment paper and or aluminum foil I used prior to discovering them.

👤I spoke with an Amazon customer service representative and was told that they would escalate the issue to have it addressed and possibly amend the product review. I am surprised that they didn't offer a refund on the product, but I think the most important thing is to see if they address the fire and safety issue at its root. There is an update on 11/11/18. One reviewer stated that these are not good for use above 400 degrees F. The mat was smoking when I opened the oven after putting it in the oven. This was the mat itself, no oils or anything applied to it. I changed my review to one star and will be requesting a refund from Amazon. This is a danger. I've been trying to reduce my carbon footprint so I was looking for an eco-friendly alternative to aluminum foil to line my baking sheets. The mats were the ticket. They fit perfectly on my baking trays. These are even better than aluminum foil because I don't have to use oil to make them non-stick! I can cook even better. I will recommend this to my friends.

👤I wanted a nice piping kit to put into my collection of cake art tools because I have been getting into making cakes for my family's birthdays. This kit is great. I was happy that this kit had everything I needed. It all looked good. I'm very pleased with the price I paid.

👤There are a lot of good reviews here. I bought this kit because of that. Every year, I make my children's birthdays. I have a kit from Wilton that I want something that is easier to clean and discard unused icing. I will try the piping bags and get more tips so I can do more decorations on the cakes. The cake pan shapes are cheap. I ordered the kit based on the reviews of it being for beginners. I consider myself a beginner to intermediate. When I got this kit, it looked okay. I kept it. I used it for the first time for my daughter's birthday. The kit is not clean. I looked at the directions and tried to find something. The booket that came with it said it had K16. Which is what I need. There is no K16 in the kit. I look over and over for 20 minutes. It was supposed to have a tip for filling pastries. Not found. I compared the tips to the booklet. The booklet claimed that the tip was in the booklet, but there was a tip number that wasn't included. It is very confusing. There were no instructions for the rest of the stuff. The tips are small and don't stay on the bag very well. I threw the kit in the trash after I finished the cake because I was so frustrated with it. See the picture. The cake turned out well. It could have been better with the right tips. Good thing I only spent $11. It's $11 of my hard earned money wasted on disorganized junk. I will be ordering the kit soon.

👤This was cheap and I wasn't expecting much. I have used some of the parts that come with it to my advantage. The icing dispensers are a steal at this price. I can't complain because it doesn't offer any instructions or information on what's inside. I gave it 3 stars because they asked to rate it for beginners. It's not that the product isn't good or that it isn't at a great price, it's that I have no idea what most of the parts are for! How to use them or how to clean them. It's a little disappointing, but because of the quality of things that I did know and use, I gave it 5 stars overall. It is a great value for money, even if you only use it for cupcake icing.

👤I haven't used them yet, but the tips and brushes are of good quality. The main reason I bought this kit was because the storage box wouldn't close because it was broken on one side. The clasps on one side were locked, but the other side hinges were not. The scissors come in two pieces, but the little hole that connects them is crooked and they won't stay together. The kit would be a great value if the storage container closed and the scissors worked. If I didn't need the tips tomorrow, I would return the item.

👤In love with this set. There are so many tips to choose from. I was helped to learn how to decorate cakes with ease, and photos should show how easy it was to learn. Pink flowers were the first cake to be baked using this set. My daughter loves it too. She is 12.

👤I was somewhat disappointed when I received it, but realized how small it was. The case was broken when it was taken out of the box. The majority of the tips are bent. The bags are thin and the plastic ones aren't going to hold anything. It is a waste of money.

As the years go on, I will be replacing some of the items with higher quality ones. The kit gave me everything I needed, a great array of decorating tips, and easy storage to keep it all together. If you've been in the business for a while, you should keep looking. This is a great little kit for beginners.

👤I was expecting more. Some of the tips were bent and it looked like they were going to separate. The look was bad. I kept them because I took too long to open them. I gave them to my 13 year old to practice with. I bought more from the store and a different seller on Amazon. A friend of mine wanted the exact set and the large star tip was bent. 👤The picture is true to life. The spatula is the size of the lid. The box is the size of an index card. The piping bags and offset spatula are not in the case. There are many piping tips. My daughter thinks that a YouTuber is the creator so it has been impressive to her. I don't think anyone besides a kid would see this as great. This is for a teenager who is breaking into cake decorating.

My grandson was so excited about his tools that he had to show me each and every piece on the phone. Excellent quality and perfect size! The measuring cups are missing. My grandson is already playing with everything else, so how can I tell him I need to return it?

👤I am glad I bought this because I would have made cake pops by hand. I was able to make over 100 cake pops in 2.5 hours. The included booklet has 2 tips for future users. The consistency is perfect because there's less water. 2, use a ziplock bag with a corner cut out to fill the cake pop holes, it will be perfect for perfectly rounded pops!

👤I bought this product because of the reviews for Baby cake. I can't believe I'm the only one who's encountered this issue if they bought the same product. I made multiple "pops" in order to avoid being labeled a "user error" and wasting good cake batter. The maker never made a complete ball. The pops did not fill up the top of the maker to make a complete ball, so they came out flat on one side. I used a light amount, heavier amount, lighter batter overall, heavier batter and nothing worked. Half moon balls are tiny. They were slightly larger than the lollipops in the bank lobbies. It wasn't worth the effort and money spent on these duds. I thought the maker would be easy to use and give me more time to work on other things. It cost me more than the machine. I had to buy cake pops for my holiday party at the end of the day. If you want to make your cake pops the old-fashioned way, stay away from this machine.

The cake pops turned out great. Since it was easy to do, we just made multiple batches and every cake pop turned out the same. I would recommend this product.

👤The mini cake pop maker is a life saver. I decided to invest in this machine because the process of making cake pops with crumbled cake and frosting and rolling them into balls took too much time. I don't have to worry about the consistency of the cake pop and the frosting because this machine makes it easy. I used brownie mix the first time I used this machine and it turned out to be a disaster. The brownies would stick on the non sticking plate even though I sprayed cooking spray on them. I used the cake mix box for the second time and it came out perfect. The plates popped out and were in perfect shape. I poured too much cake batter into the maker and it overflowed, leaving extra cake scraps, but it's easy to remove. I kept the balls that had "Saturn" rings around them the same way as the rest of them because it gave the cake pop a natural lollipop look. I coated my cake balls with candy melts and they can be found in Walmart, Michaels, or JoAnns. The cake pops fast and easy to clean. The machine gets extremely hot so make sure to touch the handle for open and close access. My experience with this machine was good. I was not happy with the machine because my pops failed. Practice makes perfect? They came out perfect the second time, so don't be discouraged if you fail the first few times because you need to get used to it. If you want to make cake pops for any occasion, you should test the machine and cake balls before you do.

👤There are a lot of items and they are bright colors and child safe. Our granddaughter is happy with it. I bought something similar for our older granddaughter two years ago and it was much better. I washed it in the dishwasher. I am trying to figure it out. The cards are made of cardboard. They were actually recipe cards in my other set. Not sure if this is worth the price. I would probably do something else. I didn't buy the same one because I wanted something different.

My child is a picky eater but she has been helping me in the kitchen and cutting up her own fruits so I don't have to worry about her cutting her own fingers. 👤My 4 year old is learning how to cook. I went to find a set that was safe for kids after reading a children's cookbook. It was afraid in the container. Each piece is individually packaged. The colors are vibrant without being neon. It had a chef's hat and apron. Measuring cups and spoons, chopping board, knives, and kid friendly knives. A spatula, ladle, timer, whisk, cookie cutter. I'm still teaching him about kitchen safety and how to clean up, even though I haven't tried them yet.

👤I decided to improve my baking skills over the holidays and one of the things I wanted to do was learn to decorate things I make. I thought the tips were worth trying for the price. I was surprised at the quality of the material used to make these tips. I was expecting something a bit thicker than aluminum foil. These are sturdy metal. The set comes in a small box and each tip is encased in a plastic sheath and nested inside one another. The whole kit takes up less space in my baking drawer because it has been replaced back in its sheath. There is a handy little card in the box that shows the shape of each tip. I found the link to the e-book interesting and I'm looking forward to trying out some of the recipes. The kit comes with disposable bags and a bag. I had buttercream all over my hands, apron, and hair, after the coupler tore through the disposable bag. I was making pink roses. I wasted a lot of buttercream because it made a huge mess. I prefer a plastic lined fabric bag over the silicone bag because it is easier to work with. I had trouble removing the bags from the coupler. My husband had trouble getting it off when I called. There isn't much to dislike about these. I think the biggest challenge is getting the right consistency with your buttercream, because there is definitely a learning curve to these. The amount of pressure on the bag is the next technique to learn after you figure out the consistency. The first time I used these tips, I gave up after the bag split. I prepared the buttercream a day in advance so I could use it all in practice. I wasn't going to give this to anyone for their birthday, but I was pretty pleased with the results of a first try. I am not good at these kinds of things, so I am confident that I can pull off something I'm proud to present to other people. I'm very pleased with this kit and would recommend it to anyone.

👤It is a great addition to anyone's baking supplies. It makes flowers look nice. There are many ways to use it when coloring butter cream frosting. Not mixing the color into the frosting gives a different color. There are so many tips inside the box it comes in. There are two bags, one reuse and one use. The consistency of the frosting doesn't change because I used the gel colors. There are some really good videos on the internet on how to make flowers. The frosting tastes great even though there is a learning curve.

The company has an instruction book, a PDF and videos on their Facebook page. The instructions were easy to understand and the box had everything that was listed. I made a good butter creme frosting. The ones on the right are the first ones I made. I spread some frosting on the left so they would stick better and then made those with no practice in between! That's how easy it is and how great the results are. I will buy more tips. I own a small coffee shop and bake my own cakes. I frost cupcakes and it looks like a child did it. 👤I like these. Someone was recommended on a channel. I had heard of this type of product before, but I was not impressed. I used aluminum foil to line baking sheets. Constantly using it and wasting money. These mats are a game-changer. I use them the same way I used foil. I roast vegetables on cookie sheets, make fries on cookie sheets, or cook anything else in the oven. You can rinse them or use a soft sponge. I mean quickly. I put them in a dish towel to dry and then they will be dry in the morning. It is a great thing to have. I recommend these to anyone that uses an oven.

👤They do their job. They've started to oxidize even when sitting on top of a baking sheet inside a Breville with a max of 450 convection. Not from cooking. They are harder to clean than other silicone. They still feel greasy after a number of different cleaning methods. We have other sheets that are clean and dry, but not these.

👤You will be happy to read this review. The batter dispensers are a great idea. I bought this for my son to use. There are pros and cons. My 9 year old son could easily make a mess with the correct amount of batter. Everything else is against the rules. The batter is leaking between uses. The counter was not a mess after I kept it on the plate. The plastic around the pin at the top of the handle cracked, causing the slider to not open and close easily. The handle cracked into pieces when looked at. The plastic handle is cheap. We only had about 8 uses out of this. This was outside of Amazon's 30 day return period and there was no mention of a warranty. Stay away from the ones made out of plastic. I am going to read the reviews of the ones made from metal since my son loved this so much. I hope I can find a better one. I did not have to pay full price for this because I bought it during an Amazon sale. There is a pile of junk.

👤I was trying to clean it when it broke. Threw it away. I had to do that for 75 cupcakes and it worked great. Batter gets stuck everywhere so it's hard to clean.

👤This is the second one I have owned. A friend gave the first gift. I liked making pancakes mess free with this. The handle broke on both, but it didn't break with use. I thought the first one was a mistake. The second one broke in the same place and was sitting in a cabinet. The brittleness of the plastic is the reason for the problem. There is a piece of metal inside the handle that must be too much for the cheap plastic. It would be great if someone else made it with better material.

👤There is an update. The handle broke after 2 1/2 months and it didn't hold up. I will not be replacing this dispenser because it costs too much for something that doesn't hold up. It lasted so long that it couldn't be returned for a refund. As they say, buyer beware. I hope the batter dispensers hold up. I have been using it for a week and it has been great. My disabled husband has a waffle for his breakfast every day and this dispensers has been great in getting a perfect waffle. The waffle batter is thicker than the pancake batter, so it comes out slower, but I like that it's easier to control the amount. I have been making waffles for him for a long time and these are the first waffles that I have not had batter run out of the waffle maker. I keep the waffle batter in the fridge. I put it on a small plate in the fridge in case it leaked. I haven't had any problems with leaks so far.
