Best Baking Dish 8x8

👤I used this a number of times and last night it broke in the oven. I don't want to risk another mess or ruined food so I'm throwing out the other two. The consumer reviews on this product are terrible and have happened to many consumers. Not a reliable product.

👤This is my second set. The largest pan is great for strudel. They are very durable and easy to clean. I have had my first set for a long time.

We decided to buy this rectangular casserole dish after looking at a lot of different options. Since receiving it, we've had a lot of casserole dishes, including potatoes, noodles, and rice. The size of this makes it easy to make meals that can last for a couple of days, but taste like they took hours to prepare. We store the lid upside down in order to minimize the height, since it's easy to serve and storage with a sturdy handle. The Pyrex dish has 2 cups of water and 1 cup of rice baked into it for 45 minutes. This method is great because you don't need to stir, just set it and forget it. 👤I use pyrex cookwear. I enjoy cooking with glass. I put the casserole dish in the oven and then put the meet on the hot glass to see it. Instead of going into the oven, it shattered apart all over the kitchen: glass all over the floor and all over the counter. I don't need this kind of quality. It worked well for general baking if temperatures rise and fall gradually, but it doesn't do as well as my other pyrex. I don't know if it's really pyrex.

👤Not the first, second or third to explode! It's amazing that Amazon continues to sell this. Our dinner's were wrecked when the oven had glass embedded in it. I wouldn't rate this as a 1. You have to give it in order to comment. I was reaching to take out the oven when it exploded.

👤I used it for the first time this weekend after receiving it. I was making food. I was excited to use the new dish with the old one. I used this dish to prepare the pasta. Both dishes were filled with sauce and cooked pasta, topped with mozzarella, and placed into the oven to melt the cheese without the cover. The dishes were in for less than a minute when we heard a loud boom and saw steam coming from the oven. We opened the oven and found that the dish had exploded, sending glass shards and baked tortellini all over the oven, top to bottom, and glass shards landed in the other Pyrex dish. My Pyrex baking dish has been used weekly for over twenty years without incident. I think this was not a case of thermal shock. The Pyrex dish should have suffered injuries if it had been misuse on my end. I called World Kitchen and was told that they were sending me a replacement for a dish that they believed was not up to par.

👤It's perfect for our bake sale. These were great for the bake sale. We ordered three sets of lids and they fit well on all of us.

👤The last one I ordered was so brittle that it fell apart when touched. The foil pans are thicker than the ones in the grocery store. The lids are strong. I will buy them again after this purchase.

👤We've always used these for our bakery, but with the Pandemic these went out of stock and we couldn't get them in time for our customers. Reynolds Heavy Duty tins were terrible. I looked at them and they were very flimsy. I will never be caught again without fig and leaf. Their products are heavy duty, well made and they donate their proceeds. Great company and product.

When I placed an order for square pans, I waited for a few days to receive them, but the trays that came were round! I thought it was okay as it was for raising money and people wont worry if I use square or round pans for the baked goods. I felt a little guilt when I delivered them because some people thought the square pans would fit more items than the round ones.

👤This is the first time I have ordered aluminum containers and I was very pleased with the quality and size of the container. I sell 12 pieces of croissant puddings. I discovered that there were two missing lids. There were only 33 containers in this pack and they were foil square. I only gave it a 4 star review because I was not happy about this. I hope this doesn't happen again.

👤These pans are great for bake sales. I usually make a recipe for a 9 x 13 pan and split it into two different pans. I used to buy these pans at the store. It is cheaper to buy a large pack than it is to buy a small one.

👤A good size and clear lid. You can either bake cake or prepare food. I made 20 mashed potatoes for food baskets and baked 4 coffee cakes. I don't recommend using the cracked lid for storage of items that you need to open frequently. The bottoms are thin and can bend if not supported. Ex. The potatoes need to be moved using a cookie sheet. They are practical because once you remove the lid, you can cook again.

I want to make more holiday dishes at the same time, so I'm thinking of buying another oven. You will not be disappointed.

I grease the dish with butter because I didn't have any food in it. It is a very nice dish, very solid and weighted. It has been fine in the dishwasher. I am happy with it.

👤The pan is only 2.2 inches deep. The pan should be at least 5 inches deep. When I'm not feeding a crowd, I wanted a smaller pan. When I only cook for 6 to 8 people, I wanted a smaller deep pan for my regular lasagna pan.

I tried to call the number on the website. No reply. There is a warning on the page that sudden temperature changes may cause it to crack. Which is it? I replaced the dish with a steel one because I didn't want it to crack. P.S. "When your husband is an idiot and your children won't shut up" is the introduction to their website. What kind of company is this? I can't do business with them. This baking dish is perfect for winter vegetarian casseroles, vegetable and bean dishes, and our favorite apple cobbler. I like that we get more topping per serving because it's about 2 inches deep. For the cobbler, you can have cheese, or oat crisp. This is great for two people, and gives them 2 portions of dinner casseroles. I'm going to make a double batches of things for the freezer after I get another dish.

👤I contacted Sweese directly after I posted my original review, and they sent me a replacement product. I switched my review from 1 to 3 stars because of their prompt response. 3 stars is a warning to other users that it may still crack and they may have to get it replaced. I used this dish a number of times, after I received it a few days later, and after I ordered it on Feb 1. It was never used from the fridge to the oven. I was excited to bake a loaf of bread this morning, so I put the bread in and started cooking. I hear a crack about half an hour into the baking time and when I look in I can see that the dish had split in two. What a waste of money. The return window was closed yesterday. It's almost like they calculated how long this thing would last to make sure I didn't have to ask for my money back. Don't buy. I've used ceramic baking dishes for a long time and have never had a problem with them. Money is wasted.

👤The measurement of the inside of the baking dish is not 8x8 as was stated in the mail, but it is still a nice measurement. It's 7x7. I was going to return it, but it's the 3rd dish I've purchased from different companies that all say the inside measurement is 8x8 and are not. I'm going to stick with this one.

👤This is the best purchase for my baking needs. My cake rises nicely, unlike my metal pan. Excellent brownies. They don't stick to the pan. A chicken is roasted. The very best! I want to replace what I have with other items. It would be great if there was a cover for storage.

👤I was taking another glass baking dish out of my storage cabinet, when I barely touched the other glass dish. The Anchor Hocking dish was not dropped or banged into and was resting on a rubber bottom of the storage cabinet. It was like I touched a sweet spot and it exploded or shattered in a hundred shards of glass. No big pieces? All very sharp. This glass is not possible. 70% of the glass stayed in the cabinet, but some of it flew out with force. A piece of metal pierced my foot. It was a deep cut and I needed to be treated by a doctor. I had this product for less than a year. I wouldn't buy this brand again. I cook all the time in my fifties. I've never experienced glass breaking this way before. No one should have this product in their house. I don't want a replacement or a refund. I don't want anyone else to get hurt.

👤Within 5 seconds of being put in the oven, this pie plate shattered. There were no obvious defects in the glass and the oven temperature was within the range the plate is supposed to tolerate. I'm not sure what happened. It was a waste of money and it broke when I was trying to cook Christmas Dinner. The other two plates were thrown away. I don't want another pie ruined. Don't buy it.

I bake all 6 at the same time, put them in the fridge and eat them all week. Large eggs in each one work well. It's perfect for everyone in the house to have their own food.

I've never seen ceramic like this before. The black spots wouldn't come off because they were ingrained in the ceramic. I threw it away because I didn't want to risk anything.

👤I see a lot of other reviews that say it is not 8x8 My first dish was perfect for an 8x8 dish and there was still plenty of room to spare. I think that it is much deeper than most other dishes, so if you are worried about that, don't fret, there will be enough space. It feels a little light compared to what I imagined, but I have been using it without any problems. It is worth it for the price.

I will complain to Amazon and Pyrex about this dangerous product. Do not buy this review.

👤The baking dish is dangerous. It exploded in my oven mitt and all over the floor as I was removing it from the oven. One of the large pieces got stuck in my finger during the clean up. I searched "exploding Pyrex bakeware" and found a website with many similar experiences. Some of them had pieces that exploded on their tables, and even while sitting in their cabinets. They reported baking at different temperatures. Why are there no recalls? Why are they still being sold? I will not be using the 9 x13 one I purchased here either, as I already threw away the other one I bought through Amazon. I hope this review saves someone else from the mess and potential injury, and I will make a complaint to Pyrex as well. I have owned an amber colored one for over 30 years.

👤I didn't get what was pictured. Pyrex is on the bottom but the packaging is just bubble wrap. There is no outside packaging. There are ridges on the sides of the dish. I was trying to match my other Pyrex dishes.

👤Not able to assess if they work. The baking dishes are stuck together like glue in the 2 set pack without any separation. They were just stacked. Will try to soak in warm water. When I ordered them, they weren't what I signed up for. We tried to separate them. If only we could use them, they would be perfect. They are going back.

👤The pan is old-school. The new products have an angle of the sides, but it is square. This is the least tapered version of a glass baking dish. The new ones have easy to use handles and the angle of the taper is severe, which means that whatever you are cooking will beicker than you want. The volume of food has to go somewhere and it can only go up. If you take away the capacity at the bottom of the dish, brownies will be thicker and all the edge pieces will be on one side. I prefer the old design and don't like the new one.
