Best Baking Dish with Lid 8x8

👤This review is small. I used to use a 9 x 13 Pyrex baking dish and it was always filled with food and sauces. I didn't think to measure it. The standard 9 x 13 Pyrex is only 7.25 x 11.75 and 1.75 inches deep. I found the Emile Henry when I was looking for a bigger baking dish. The Emile Henry has inside dimensions of 9.75 x 13.5 and 2.5 inches deep. My Pyrex can fit inside the Emile Henry. I'm looking forward to cooking with it and not losing any of my recipes.

👤I love this pan! I cried when I broke my Pyrex baker because they don't make them like they used to. I realized I could replace it with another Emile Henry piece. I ordered the Emile Henry baker 14 x 10 x 2 and my husband ordered the 13 x 9 x 3 baker, but I didn't know I had already ordered one. Wow! Did I make it or not? Love them both. This pan can be used for casseroles, lasagna or roasting. The pan is deep and holds twice as much as the old Pyrex. The measurement is in inches. It is a little bigger at the top and a little smaller at the bottom. The handles are 10.25 wide and 3 deep. It holds more than four quarts. I have pieces of Emile Henry for years and I love them all. It is easy to clean up after they bake. I wonder what will happen next.

👤I finally decided to stop buying junk baking and cooking products and start spending money on items that will last. This dish did not hold up to its end of the bargain or the product it claims to have. I have used this 6 times since I bought it in 2017. The stupid thing cracked all the way across the bottom after I pulled it out of the oven and put my enchalidas in it. I squeezed the dish together so it wouldn't break and I had to put it on my cutting pigs. So disappointing! I guess I will go back to buying it at Wal!%t and hope they honor the 10 year warranty and not make me jump through hoops. We will see.

👤The bottom is rough. Not waterproof. It must be from the factory. If the handles were broken, the replacement would be done on the bottom. The dishes are square and oval. They are finished on the bottom. They called customer service and were told to go to the website and place their order. Not helpful. I am getting more faulty items from Amazon. Time and shipping are wasted. Don't buy this.

👤I have been living on my own for 13 years and have never felt like I owned a baking dish. I used hand-me-down items, disposable foil pans from the grocery store, and stuff I found at garage sales. I finally decided it was time to get something that I could hold onto for a long time and purchased this for $50. When I could get a whole set for the same price or not much more, I didn't need all the extras, but I was a bit skeptical of spending so much on one baking dish. I decided to give it a chance because it seemed like a good quality. It arrived in one piece and was well-packaged. We've only used it a few times, but it's worked well each time. One time I made a box brownie cake, which cooked quicker than the disposable foil pans and seemed to remain more moist, even though the "recipe" did not change. We made stuffed pasta shells with homemade sauce and everything was perfect. Baking dishes have had to be soaked in several rounds before being completely clean, but it is easy to clean because you don't have to worry about stains. I haven't seen that yet. Things may change a lot in the future. I will try to keep my mind updated if something changes my mind.

👤There is an update. I had to change my rating to 1 star. The poor customer service I received is not an excuse for this dish being right for my needs. I asked the seller what the maximum oven temperature was. They weren't sure. I should give 400 degrees. A try. What? I would like to have the dish crack and spill my casserole all over the oven. I tried to call the number on the website. No reply. There is a warning on the page that sudden temperature changes may cause it to crack. Which is it? I replaced the dish with a steel one because I didn't want it to crack. P.S. "When your husband is an idiot and your children won't shut up" is the introduction to their website. What kind of company is this? I can't do business with them. This baking dish is perfect for winter vegetarian casseroles, vegetable and bean dishes, and our favorite apple cobbler. I like that we get more topping per serving because it's about 2 inches deep. For the cobbler, you can have cheese, or oat crisp. This is great for two people, and gives them 2 portions of dinner casseroles. I'm going to make a double batches of things for the freezer after I get another dish.

👤I contacted Sweese directly after I posted my original review, and they sent me a replacement product. I switched my review from 1 to 3 stars because of their prompt response. 3 stars is a warning to other users that it may still crack and they may have to get it replaced. I used this dish a number of times, after I received it a few days later, and after I ordered it on Feb 1. It was never used from the fridge to the oven. I was excited to bake a loaf of bread this morning, so I put the bread in and started cooking. I hear a crack about half an hour into the baking time and when I look in I can see that the dish had split in two. What a waste of money. The return window was closed yesterday. It's almost like they calculated how long this thing would last to make sure I didn't have to ask for my money back. Don't buy. I've used ceramic baking dishes for a long time and have never had a problem with them. Money is wasted.

👤The measurement of the inside of the baking dish is not 8x8 as was stated in the mail, but it is still a nice measurement. It's 7x7. I was going to return it, but it's the 3rd dish I've purchased from different companies that all say the inside measurement is 8x8 and are not. I'm going to stick with this one.

👤This is the best purchase for my baking needs. My cake rises nicely, unlike my metal pan. Excellent brownies. They don't stick to the pan. A chicken is roasted. The very best! The casserole will be in the oven. It was perfect. Can not say enough about this product. I had to purchase a second one as I can bake a desert while cooking a roast or chicken or casserole. I want to replace what I have with other items. It would be great if there was a cover for storage.

👤I do a lot of low-fat baking, and I have a website where I post healthier recipes. I fell in love with the baby blue and wanted a ceramic dish, but I usually stick to Silicone bakeware. I'm surprised at how easy it is to release my baked goods with the nonstick coating. It's a sturdy pan and it's a great price.

👤I was looking for a smaller baking dish to bake in. Unless you have a big family, using a standard-sized baking dish for all of that leaves too many leftovers. The dish was perfect for all of the above. It's not too heavy. Even the burned on bits are easy to clean. There isn't a concern with the deep dish. And a lovely blue. I want to make more holiday dishes at the same time, so I'm thinking of buying another oven. You will not be disappointed.

👤I bought this to replace a cracked one that was leaking. If you are preparing food for two, this is a great thickness and can be used. Blue is a pretty color. My daughter liked it when she saw it.

👤When attaching the lid to the glassware, there is a thin layer of glass on the handles, which can cause small shards of glass to come off. If I wanted to take the time to sand each of the edges of the dishes, it would be fine, but this is a process that should be completed by the manufacturer. I can't say if this product will last as it happened on the first use. I had to throw out the leftovers because I was afraid that a glass shard would make it into the food. Pyrex put their name on something with poor quality. The ear-cups that are supposed to snap over the Pyrex dish handles were twisted from end to end and even if you stretched them over the handles they would pop back off. The cover is a great idea, but whoever Pyrex hired to make it knows nothing about quality control. I gave the Pyrex bowl an overall average of two stars because I gave it 5 stars and the red plastic over zero stars.

👤I've owned this dish for a year and a half, however, I've only used it on a few occasions. I'm not happy with the fact that the lid won't close properly anymore and one corner sticks up a bit. It's not dishwasher safe and you can't carry food in it without risk of spilling.

👤These were bought with the intention of storing flowers. Oh. cursive herbs I put the cookies in the containers after smoking them. Put some dog treats in one. They work hard. I use them for what I intended. They are easy to open, but do they seal? Not sure. I haven't put a hygrometer in it. Maybe I should change my review.

👤I'm not sure how durable this Pyrex will be because it's a lot thinner than the Pyrex I'm used to. The first few times I used them, they worked well in the oven. I like having a lighter dish since my old Pyrex dishes are very heavy. The snaps on the lids make them a good fit. They are a hard plastic and if you stack them on top of one another, the top one will slip off of the bottom one. It was very bad. A star was taken off for that.

👤It was nice for the first use, but after the ceramic started bubbling and creating black raised dots all along the inside, it was no longer nice for the first use. I've never seen ceramic like this before. The black spots wouldn't come off because they were ingrained in the ceramic. I threw it away because I didn't want to risk anything.

👤It's difficult to make a meal for two. Most 8x8s are shallow. I was happy when I found this one. When I received it, I made a great meal, I added three layers of pasta/sauce and cheese. I baked steak last night. This casserole dish is very nice. For two or three people. My new favorite dessert.
