Best Baking Dish with Lid 9x13

👤This product has been discontinued after a long call with Anchor Hocking. They mentioned that it was counterfeit because it was not an authorized distributor. I couldn't figure out why things were getting old after using mine for a while. The lid wasn't always locked on. I noticed that the non-handle sides were bowed in. One side was really bad and the other somewhat. The handles are pushed out a bit, not being straight. I'll update this after talking to Anchor. Purchase Pyrex inSTEAD!

Others said that their item exploded. I will return this item as I am not looking forward to that type of lost or clean up. I'm not happy with the quality of this item. It was made in the USA.

👤This is a better casserole dish. I used to have a ceramic 9x13 with a lid. The ello dish has a Silicone sleeve on it so the counter is protected with no extra work, even though I would have to set it on pot holders or a Silicone mat after taking it out of the oven. I put the splatter guard on top of the dish to eliminate the mess and tinfoil waste. The leftovers can be put in the freezer and come out fresh on the other side if they are put in the airtight lid. I bought a second so that I can make two casseroles on my day off and not have to cook in the middle of the week. There are better ways to do things, and this product embodies that. Cooking is no longer very difficult.

👤There was trouble right out of the box. The product has three stickers stuck to it. There are two on the inside of the glass pan and one on the outside of the plastic lid. The manufacturer chose not to use a glue. I can use acetone on the plastic lid to get the glue off the glass, but it's already ridiculous to expect a customer to do that. I don't know how to get the glue off the lid. It will take a lot of work. I had to decide if I should just return the product or spend hours getting it off. It's ridiculous to use that kind of glue on a product. My advice is to look at a different product.

👤I bought the baking dish about 8 months ago. I thought it was a great idea and easy to clean. I used it to make some cakes. I didn't want to use the oven because of the hot weather. When my son was going to bake tonight, I was shocked. We smelled it first. My husband came in and said that the house was almost burning down. He said the silicone melted and dripped down on the oven and was on fire. The flames could be seen through the window. He was able to put the fire out after purchasing a new fire extinguisher. We had to blow out the toxic fumes by opening the house and putting fans in front of the doors. We couldn't go back in for a while. I can't imagine that could happen. I am thankful that he was quick in his response. I had a window open and thought someone was working with chemicals. I wouldn't recommend this product due to the safety issue.

I think that it is much deeper than most other dishes, so if you are worried about that, don't fret, there will be enough space. I have never tried to take Pyrex from the freezer to the oven. I don't want to think about what could've happened. I chose this pan because it's made with high quality glass. I've put this pan to the test to see if it's any good. I took it from the freezer to the oven, from the microwave to the oven, and from the oven to a wet countertop. It passed all of the tests with flying colors. The glass dish is sturdy and well made. The glass is thicker than my other dishes. The food stays warm when out of the oven. The handles go down the entire pan, instead of just a 3 or 4 inch one. It's easier to get in and out of the fridge. It cleans up well in the dishwasher. I'll definitely be ordering more since I'm replacing my Pyrex dishes.

One person has a picture of the back of the insert. It's safe to take it from the freezer to the oven, but the product tells you to avoid extreme temperature changes. It's likely that it's not borosilicate glass, which would be able to handle a shift from the freezer to the oven. They advise you to place something underneath the dish when you take it out of the oven, so that it doesn't come into contact with a cold countertop that would cause it to shatter. I bought this because of my safety concerns and I'm disappointed that it's not borosilicate glass. I'm not returning it because I need it to cook dinner tonight, but I won't be using it after that, and I don't want to forget that this isn't a safe dish.
