Best Baking Dishes for Casseroles Corningware

👤I bought a set of glassware more than 30 years ago. The 1.5 quart French white bakeware dish was okay after one of my children dropped it on my marble kitchen floor. I saw a corningware set while browsing. I clicked on the saw icon to see if replacements were available. The 1.5 glass lid fits perfectly. The set is complete again and looks great on my dinner table. The quality of the lid is 10 stars, even though the product is glass and glass breaks, and I couldn't give it a 5-star rating because it is glass and glass breaks. Three of the 12 pieces in my set are stands for larger bakeware. The bakeware is still white after 30 years.

This one has the same capacity and is elegant, but the lid feels flimsy. The glass is very thin and the knob is not molded in the lid as one piece. The knob is not centered on the lid. I don't quite trust his lid to not chip or shatter, even though most of the old Corningware had Pyrex lids.

My grandma has an F6-B, and both of the F6 lids I ordered matched it perfectly. For comparison, below are a few photos. The product I received does not have a model number printed on it, but my grandma's does, and it is F6-B.

👤I love this dish. It is easy to cook in. I had to buy a new one because I made many mistakes with this dish. The first mistake I made was putting the dish into the oven without allowing it to reach the temperature I wanted. The dish broke. The instructions tell you not to do this, as an oven trying to reach the operating temperature that you want can sometimes reach extremely hot temperatures while warming up. I paid the price for that. I put my dish on top of the burner when I killed it for the second time. The burner was not cool from the high temperature. I heard a cracking noise and looked over to see that my dish had cracked in two. I had a second dead dish after subjecting the dish to extremely hot temperatures. I have learned to follow the directions and keep my dish away from the heat. No! You wouldn't use this dish for BROILING. That is very hot.

I contacted the company to see if they could replace it. If they don't, I'll still buy Corning ware, but I'm done.

I searched Amazon for a replacement for the plastic cover that came with it, as I still had the set that came with a glass-domed lid and a deeper-sided baker. I thought I found it with this item. Not true. I received a dish that is perfectably useful, but it is so small and deep in 888-609- The dimensions don't come close to what they were looking for, and others commented on that. I'm not sure if anyone knows of a shallow-sided, 11"L x 9" site. Thanks in advance.

👤There are different sizes and shapes of CW French White. All the older ones have been around for a long time. Two brands have cracked. If I cook food in the French White and store it in the frig, I warm it up on low heat first and then go to full reheat temp. I like the shallow shapes, and covers are usually available.

The lifestyle of kitchens today is not the same as it was in the past. They are perfect for the new air fryers. I will put the bakeware in during preheat to avoid problems. Adding the results of the testing to the sales site would be a good idea, as would adding more information in the directions. These are 10X better than similar bakeware. Buy it!

👤The set was broken but I like it. They look like the sets my mom and grandma had. I would like to have that broken piece replaced. I only have to cook for myself and a 1 year old so I would use that one the most. Same day. On top of the broken baking dishes, I just went to use the middle sized one and noticed a small crack in the crevice of the dish. We just moved in and we have no other bakeware and this set is trash. It's not healthy to cook in plastic in a conventional oven. These casseroles fit the pot pies perfectly. Thanks to Marie Callender's cheap-ness, they're now 15 ounces. I spray the casseroles with olive oil, pop the frozen pies out of their plastic bowls, slip them into the casseroles, and put them in the oven. The casseroles are easy to clean, they cook beautifully, and we have a nice warm and easy meal.
