Best Baking Essentials Set for Beginners

👤I absolutely love this mat. I ordered the large size mat the very day I received it, and I was so impressed with it that I wanted to start with it. I have never used a silicone mat before, but I bought the smaller size to try it. I used it to make pasta dough. Anyone that has made pasta by hand knows that it takes a lot of time and effort. The mat worked well. I didn't need to add flour to the pasta. I was able to use this particular size of dough because it fits in a small counter space between my stove and the wall, and I was able to use it without any flour on the floor for the first time. I used to use a 12 x 18 plastic cutting board to knead dough, and I would always add flour and/or oil to keep the dough from sticking to the board. The dough was more elastic than usual when I put the pasta through the machine. I was able to focus on creating a great final product, not on reducing the mess. The directions said to clean it with boiling water. Instead, I put in the sink with hot water and dish soap and let it sit for a while. The mat does not stick to itself when I store it rolled up. The Medium size mat in the pictures is large enough to make ravioli. I immediately ordered the largest size to cover the top of my portable butcher block island, because I was so impressed with how well this mat worked. The mat does not have a lot of clean up. After use, rinse it off in the sink and it will look new. I don't have to clean my old plastic cutting board. I can't wait to use this mat to make cookies and cinnamon rolls. 👤I was excited to receive this mat, due to the positive reviews. I found an insect in the product that I can move around with my finger. There is no way to get the insect out without ruining the mat. I am supposed to use this for food.

👤Terrible! Don't trust the markings. If you go by their starting line, you will get one whole inch off. I was too disgusted to check cm. I was ordering boxes based on the thoughtless design of my handcrafted soap.

👤Update 6/27/19. The dough doesn't seem to stick to the mat anymore despite the previous problems. I was glad I didn't throw it away last time. I have used the mat for 4 times. I had the chance to review this product. I don't know if I got a bad mat or if the others did. The dough sticks to the mat. I thought the problem was the dough. But after my 4th use? The mat is not non-stick. It is a thin, flimsy mat and it doesn't stay on the surface. I am not buying this again.

👤These rust so bad that it's easy to clean off hand washing. A stream of rust pours out after you wash them out of the dishwasher.

👤The large flat pan has been used twice by me. The first time, it started to rust. I've never put it in the dishwasher. I was trying to remove it from the oven when it folded. These pans are flimsy. If I could, I would return them. The surface was not hard. That's all.

👤These pans are okay. Its non-greasy. The bottom of the pans burns easily because it is not made of the good non-stick material. I only used them once and will post an update after a lot of use. I am not excited about them.

I got an email to solve the oil amount issue. Only one egg is included in the steps after the first two eggs are listed. The cinnamon mix is called a filling mixture in the instructions. I like meal subscription services and can follow the instructions very easily. You are expecting children to follow these, but they were not clear.

👤These bake kits are wonderful! They are out of stock and unavailable. I have ordered several of them and they are perfect for my 9 year old granddaughter. She is learning to bake. They are fun and a great way to spend time with your kids, niece, nephew, grandchildren, etc. They are learning at the same time as doing an activity indoors.

I ordered the kit because I was excited to find it at a good price. I've proofed about 6 loaves in my basket and used the bread to make some pretty designs on top. The kit comes with everything you need to start with sourdough and the proof process. The box has a Banneton Proofing Basket and a clothes liner for it, as well as a loaf of bread with razor blades and a dough scraper. This is the first set that I have owned. I don't have a lot to compare it to, but they products feel sturdy and easy to clean after use. The set is working well for me so far. I think this set is a great gift for anyone who wants to get started in bread making. I'm grateful that I don't have anything negative to say about this purchase so far. The loaves were proofed in a basket.

The package arrived just a half an hour too late to use the basket, but the instructions printed on the box work well. They didn't show how to put the blade into the handle, but it was pretty obvious. The set is great. If I could, I would give it more stars. The price is reasonable and I ordered a full set instead of just a lame. The banneton basket is nicely lined, and the set includes a dough cutter, bowl scraper, 5 blades, and a leather sheath. 👤I liked the option that came with other things, I wanted a handheld cake mixer. My favorite items were the additional ones. It comes with 7 mixing bowls and I have many different sizes. There is a I had a Betty Crocker, but it is made out of plastic, so I could not measure hot liquids. There are 2 types of mixing parts and 10 different speed speeds.

Even though I washed the bowls before use, I found an oily black substance under the lip of all the bowls and it was MzE I had to wash them again. I'm not sure if it was normal for bowls to be oiled. Have no idea. The mixer is terrible. It's small and hard to mix anything. It is loud. I used it to mix cake batter and it slowed down considerably even on the highest speed. The mixer emitted a terrible smokey smell after two uses. I'm not sure if I should use it again or just chalk it up to a loss. If you are looking for nice bowls and measuring cups, this is an ok set. If you only need the mixer, I would pick a different one.

👤The company took a long time to address the issues I had. An amazing product and great supplies. There were some items that were missing. The bench scraper is small and it didn't fit in my hands, so it wasn't impressive. The offset spatula is the only spatula that has a straight edge. If the bottom pan isn't placed correctly, the cake batter ends up on the bottom of the oven, which is why I prefer regular cake pans to spring form. The wire cake cutter doesn't work at all. It is not all horrible. The Russian piping tips are appreciated by me. The bags are strong. The turntable works well. It is a good start to have for baking items. I should have gone for the package with more items.

👤I was excited to try the pans. I've only used the sheet pan. I made some potato skins. I heard a loud clang while I was baking some fish at 350. The pan is twisted. I'm still within the first 30 days, so I'm debating returning the rest of the set.

You can't serve rotten pans or give ruined bakery goods as gifts if you consider the purchase price and the loss of expensive ingredients. I used the bread loaf pan for the first time. I had to soak it for several hours and then change out the fresh soaking water because of the layers of gunk that had stuck and torn when I tried to get it out of the pan. The color of the pans looked stained when baking product had touched them. The pans were ruined the first time they were used, but I did not leave them damp or to air out.
