It's mostly chemical-laden with sugar "substitutes." I decided to make my own hard candy using LorAnn's recipe. I made my own hard candy. I was in heaven. I decided to make taffy with strawberry because I am not a fan of it. I loved the strawberry flavor. Although I wish these flavors were all natural, the amount used is so small that I am ok with small amounts of chemicals, although I wish they would remove the dyes altogether as they are not safe and definitely not necessary. I saw a lot of reviews that said they didn't have any flavor when making chapstick. The flavors are strong and tasty. They should get 5 stars for candy making.

👤I didn't like this product. I put coconut oil in it to make my own chap stick. I had to use a whole bottle for 5 tubes of chapstick to smell and taste it because it didn't mix well with the oil. They stained my lips with the color of the flavoring because they were colored and not mixed with my oil.

👤Normally I get Beanilla Double Fold Madagascar from Beanilla, but due to an unusual shortage, there was a period that this best vanilla you can get was not available. I decided to try the Olivenation. It sounded too good to be true, but it was not. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd investigated more thoroughly. The double fold is in Madagascar. I get a much more powerful aroma and flavor from Beanilla. This Olivenation product does not look like a real product, but rather a simulation. I don't know what it is, but it has a hint of vanilla. The dark brown color of the bean makes the extract brown, as well as the essence. The material is clear. The alcohol flavor is stronger than the flavor of the food. It doesn't have the strength of single fold, which is a blessing, since it doesn't taste like real vanilla in the first place, although it is a little reminiscent of that. I don't think anyone should use this for any productions that are important. It could be used to make a scented candle. I could not use it for my food needs. I had to buy a small bottle of Nielson-Massey Madagascar to hold me over until Beanilla Double Fold was back in stock. I don't consider it to be the best. If you only have one choice, go for the Nielson-Massey. If you can get Beanilla, get that. You could get the Beanilla on Amazon Prime. I have to get mine directly from Beanilla, which doesn't have as good of a shipping deal as Amazon Prime. I don't understand how Amazon can sell Olivenation as a liquid. Do they have any quality control? I don't understand the claims made about this product. This product will confuse you if you know the difference between real and fake extract. It doesn't have the same flavor as real single fold vanilla extract and it doesn't have the strength of real single fold. I use only the type of Bourbon that I need, and that's the flavor and smell. It is clear, which makes no sense. I will not be buying this again and anyone who is as fanatical about vanilla as I am should steer clear of this Olivenation product. Amazon should not have allowed this to be sold. It doesn't seem like it's from the book.

👤I ordered a tube of this because I was making a recipe for it. I was disappointed. The formula is a slimy gel and a bit irritative. The texture was off-putting and reminded me of a slimy trail left by a slug, which is likely due to the Gum Tragacanth used in the ingredients. I thought the taste of the seeds was artificial and cloying. Adding this to the recipe didn't give me any extra taste that I wouldn't get with straight vanilla extract. Next time, I will use some extract and call it good.

👤I don't like this product, it's not returnable, so buyer beware. The texture is not paste but a thin gel. Liquid almond extract thins out ingredients in recipes. The taste of liquid almond extract is very similar to that of this.

👤This review is only for sparkling water flavor alternatives. I have a sparkling water machine in my home and wanted to try some different flavors. Diluted syrups are usually more liquid than syrups. The flavor is great but there are not many options compared to the sparkling water flavors at the grocery store. You can use extracts if you research alternative flavoring items. The OliveNation Pure Mango Extract does not taste good in water. This extract is intended to flavor food. You can taste the alcohol in the water. The smell is off putting. It is harder to carbonate when added to the water and then C02 is added. The extract contains alcohol. I don't recommend this for water flavor. I'm looking forward to using this item for food items. This is an all natural product and it is naturally colored with plant based ingredients. I wanted my water to be as natural as possible. I will keep this product to experiment with flavors. I am looking forward to trying this product out.

👤Didn't smell like mango. It says "mango essence". It's like a slice of mango that wasn't ripe yet, but was dropped in a solution of alcohol for a few minutes. The liquid was poured in this bottle. I wouldn't order this again if I got a bad batches.

👤I use this to make mango ice cream and mango cream cake. A small amount of this goes a long way. I make ice cream by using 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 and 1/2 cups of milk or half and half, puréed mango, and a few other ingredients. The ice cream has turned out great each time, even though fresh mangoes can vary in their intensity of sweetness and flavor. For the cake, I use 2 cups of heavy whipping cream and add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of extract along with the confectioners sugar, and then after the whipped cream is ready, fold in 1/2 to 1 cup of puréed mango, and I use this to cover the cake. There are many recipes for mango ice cream and mango cake on the internet. A small amount of mango extract can be used to enhance any of the recipes. I will buy more when I need it.

👤I saw some reviews that said this was good for soda stream water. It isn't. If you want to flavor water, don't use this oil. It doesn't mix well with water and the flavor is weak. The rubber top of my water bottle popped off when I tried to squeeze it into it. I'm giving this 5 stars because I think it's great at what it's supposed to be used for.

👤After reading a few reviews, I bought it. It is obvious that it is artificial. I can't tell if it has an extract mixed in. The smell is almost soapy and the flavor is similar to artificial concentrated essence, which I grew up with in Australia. Would not buy again. I also bought maple from the same brand. At least it tastes like maple. It's lime hair wash.

👤I asked for a refund because there was no protevtion covering on the bottle and anyone could see what was in it. I poured it down the drain. Do not know what rhis is supposed to be. There is no food safety in this item, so they have to be laws against this.

👤I wanted to make Grand Marnier flavoured truffles. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on alcohol. I saw this extract flavor pack and decided to try it out. They taste like alcohol. A little goes a long way. I've made several different types of chocolates. If you want that alcohol flavor without the calories and effects of alcohol, this product is for you. I have not tried cooking or baking with these. I think they should be fine for baked goods and sauces as I have used other flavors from the same brand in baked goods and they turned out really good.

👤The bottles are thrown into the shipping box with no secondary seal under the cap. Some bottles in my shipment had caps that were not securely tightened, which resulted in spilled product in the bottom of the shipping carton. The coconut dumped 1/3 of its volume into the bottom of the box, along with smaller amounts of other flavors. The plastic seal around the cap and bottle neck is not strong enough to keep the cap from leaking.

👤I ran out of the bottle I bought at the grocery store several years ago. It smelled better and said something on the bottle that was 42% alcohol. The bottle I bought in January of last year has different ingredients and doesn't state the alcohol content. Maybe there was a change in the labeling, but it also has less kick when I lick it. I don't think it's the same. The ingredients in my bottle are not the same as those on Amazon. I'm willing to pay a lot more for good vanilla beans and not cheapen their product, even though the price of them has gone up a lot. Disappointed.

This stuff is not real. The bad reviews are correct, and whoever is selling this is putting fakes on Amazon. I poured the small grocery store bottle at the top of the plate in the photo I took. The Amazon bought ones are on the bottom of the plate. You can see that the grocery store is darker than the Amazon store.

This product is not as good as the small bottle of genuine McCormick vanilla I bought from the grocery store and the same size bottle I bought from the store before they stopped carrying it. Those were complex and rich. The product smells and tastes like artificial vanilla with a strong alcohol smell and a lighter color. The quality of this vanilla has declined or it is not an authentic product. I think it's the latter. I am stuck with a cheap vodka because I didn't finish my old bottle before the return period ended.

👤I used to eat Mexican foods. It's a mild coconutty/cinnamon scent. It has a rounded and soft flavor. There is no sharpness to it, no bite of alcohol, and no taste of alcohol. That's the flavor of Mexican Vainilla. The taste of the extract that is sold in the US is very good. It's not as strong as the bottle suggests, but it still has a nice flavor and can be used in cooking. It can be a bit bitter because of the alcohol. Both flavors are very different. If you are expecting a pure flavor with a bite, then what do you think? This is not for you. Are you expecting a sweeter coconutty/cinnamony vanilla flavor? These are for you.

It's great for my overhead to have a great price. Don't waste your time. It's bad on it's own and in baked goods. I only use the best products in my baking. When you take a taste of real pure vanilla, it is sweet and mellow, and you think it is good. I know what furniture polish tastes like due to a dare as a youth, and this stuff tasted like furniture polish. I hoped that if I baked with it, it would turn into something wonderful, like what the other reviewers had said. Nope. Reviewers said a little goes a long way. I only use a quarter of what I normally put in my recipe, my house smells of furniture polish, and I made two baked goods that tasted like furniture polish. It'suck! Water is not the main ingredient in real vanilla.

I think it smells similar to the extract from the book. Icings and cookies have never tasted better. 👤I'm glad it's available on Amazon because I'm addicted to it, and I discovered it when my mom brought a few bottles back from Mexico. Since discovering this stuff, I have not used any other vanilla. It has a very rich, true vanilla flavor and is much less expensive and of higher quality than the extracts you get in US grocery stores. It makes everything better, and I use it in everything. It's amazing at a great price.

This is the most disgusting tasting and smelling of vanilla I have ever come across. I've purchased pure vanilla in Mexico and it's not even close. It has a very strong fake smell and taste that is nothing like the real thing. Your end product has a taste. Again, save your money and time by not buying this product.

👤These flavors are fine in a smoothie made with a water base or two of water. The Almond Breeze hides the flavors. A few drops in a water base will flavor just fine. I can not give these a full 5 star rating because I have to use a small amount of water to get the flavor I want in a smoothie. I am using psyllium husk powder which has a distinct flavor, but this was happening before I introduced the husk powder. The flavors don't match the fruit. They are good but not great. I will not reorder.
