1. LorAnn Oils Flavorings Essential Pistachio

LorAnn Oils Flavorings Essential Pistachio

Mediterranean baked goods have a mild nutty flavor. Think of Spumoni or Baklava. Adding pistachioschio flavor to desserts will give them a nutty flavor. Substitute Pistachio flavor in any recipe that calls for a nut flavor. The manufacturer will make improvements to this flavor in 2019. A little goes a long way. LorAnn's flavors are four times stronger than typical baking extracts. When substituting extracts for super strength flavors, use 14 to 12 teaspoon. Hard candy, general candy making, cakes, cookies, frosting, ice cream and a wide variety of other baking and confectionery applications are typical uses. Made in the USA.

Brand: Lorann

👤This flavor was not nutty or rich like pistachios should be. It went to the trash after one use. Watkins flavor was discontinued because it was deep, complex and smelled like pistachios.

👤I had to guess how much to use. It has an artificial flavor.

👤I have to find something else to use this for. It is strong on the positive side. A little goes a long way. The scent they got was correct. It smells like it should. It is artificial and the chemical aftertaste is terrible. I thought it was because I was using too much, but I was able to get to a point where it tasted like pistachios. It had a weird chemical taste to it. If it can be masked better, it might work in some other use, but for buttercream it was not a good idea.

👤The worst product in Amazon. How can I use this chemical to bake cakes? I need a money back. I can't use a single drop of this. Please remove this product from Amazon.

👤This was not like the flavor of pistachios. It is not made from any other vegetable. A very strong almond. It was a waste of money.

👤The reviews were correct about the smell and chemical flavor. I tried a drop in various volumes of liquids and it didn't work. What feedback do you have from the seller?

👤The result was terrible after I added 2 more scoops to my homemade ice cream. It has a very strong taste and smell of glycol and very little scent of pistachios. The ice cream was ruined. I only had a small amount of the ice cream. It is going to be thrown out.

👤I ruined a lot of ice cream when I added half of the alcohol. It tastes like alcohol and chemical.

👤It is very strong and you have to small amount.

👤Terrible tests and a very bad product.

👤Not impressed at all. It was very artificial and chemical. Looking for a good one.

2. Cooks Extract Natural Premium Vermonts

Cooks Extract Natural Premium Vermonts

We use the maple syrup from Vermont's finest sugar maple trees. This versatile flavor can be used to polish bakery products, sauces, cream filling and more. There are different sizes available, from 2oz. to 32oz. Family owned since 1918.

Brand: Cook's

👤Explanation: I believe you will be satisfied if you use this product the same way you would use other extracts. You may find extracts objectionable if you have no experience with them. If you want to know what I think, please read on. I picked up an Olive Nation product from Amazon and it tastes the same to me. If used as intended, pure maple syrup and/or pure maple sugar can bring out the elusive maple flavor. This is alcohol-based maple extract and it will not taste right. Proper use, techniques, and preparation are needed to make maple flavoured stuff. This extract won't make everything taste like maple syrup, just like the extract won't make everything taste like ice cream. There were many comments about making maple syrup with maple extract. There is no substitute for real boiled-down maple syrup from a New England sugar house in February or March. I used this extract to make maple cheerios, maple oatmeal, and maple bacon because no responsible amount of maple sugar I have ever used in these and other recipes has ever been enough for me to enjoy. I used a little salt and the extract worked well.

👤beanilla, frontier and olive nation are the only ones that I am happy with. The smell of maple is the strongest it has been. When I think of maple, it is what I expect. There was a problem with the packaging. The good news is that when I opened the package, it made the house smell good, even though the cap was sealed. I will only order cooks.

👤I have not ordered maple extract before. It's hard to pour this into a measuring spoon. The bottle seemed to want to go down the side. I used Kentucky wind-age to make my homemade syrup. I never got anything that tasted very maple. In the first batches, I used 1 and 2 and 3 in the following. I'm just using butter and a little bit of extra. I have nothing to compare this Maple extract to as it's my first purchase, but it could be the best Maple extract on the planet. It fails in comparison to what I was hoping for.

👤If you check the ingredients, you'll see that this is made with real maple syrup, so it's not like imitations. It doesn't seem as concentrated as imitation extract because it's not just chemically refined sotolon. You'll be using a bit of this stuff where you're used to using a bit of imitation maple flavor. You'll pay a lot for that maple flavor if you combine that with the higher price. If you can find Grade "A Dark amber" or even "B" maple syrup, it's the most economical and effective way to get maple flavoring into something. There is no high fructose corn syrup in real maple syrup and it is full of anti-oxidants. If you want real maple flavor, this is the best product on the market. It will cost you. I use this because I'm avoiding sugar, but it's an affordable luxury.

3. OliveNation Pure Cherry Extract Oz

OliveNation Pure Cherry Extract Oz

The cherry flavor is increased in the recipes. It pairs well with chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla. It's a perfect addition to pork and chicken.

Brand: Olivenation

👤The limited flavor of the coffee my girlfriend loved is gone. I surprised her with this and added it to her coffee. She can't tell the difference. Bonus points for me! It's also good for making our gummy bears with healthy ingredients.

👤I wanted to add icing to a cake. It smells great. I was not worried about it being like cough syrup. It smells great. It didn't taste like anything when I added it to my recipe. I got a nice cherry flavor when I tried it in some water, after reading a lot of reviews. Even after adding quite a lot more than the recipe called for, the icing was not in it's original form. Maybe it's best for certain applications.

👤The website clearly says " cherry extract, alcohol, water" The bottle says "WATER, Alcohol, Cherry Juice Concentrate, GARCIA, and NATURAL flavors." If you know anything about "Natural Flavors", you know that there is nothing natural about the process they go through to become a natural flavor.

👤YUK! The cherry extract is not good. I was looking for a new brand because my regular brand was out of stock. As soon as I opened the bottle, I knew it was not going to be good, but I decided to try it in my cherry smoothie. The alcohol smell is overpowering the cherry smell. The alcohol is all you can taste in the smoothie. I threw this away. Total waste of money. I bought this at the prevailing price. I chose to write a review. Thanks, Liz.

👤I use it to flavor Soadastream water. I bought this because they no longer make a cherry flavor. I like the flavor of the other brand. A liter of water requires only 1 or 2 drops. This bottle will last a long time for me. The cherry flavor is good with a drop or two of orange extract, they're cheap and last a couple years before they wear out. Coconut works well too.

👤I like this product. It's a great addition to all sorts of drinks and food. I put mine in the milk portion of the lattes, unflavored yogurt, and sparkling water. Sometimes, I'll mix up several flavors, such as adding cherry, orange, and vanilla extracts to the food. I'm going to buy more when I run out. I might buy some for gifts. The bottle it comes in is plastic, and glass bottles are preferred. I can transfer them to a glass dropper bottle to fix the problem.

👤Okay. It tastes good. This isn't a true flavor extract. The concentrate is packaged in a small bottle. If this is all you want, you can get a whole quarter of this for only a few bucks more than this fake for $5 at your local store. This is not a real extract and not named correctly. The people are going to the bank.

👤This is a concentrate, not an extract, as others have pointed out. The seller's photos and description clearly show that this is an extract. The photo of the ingredient label was taken by the seller. The actual label is water, alcohol, cherry juice concentrate, and natural flavors. If I wanted to buy cherry concentrate, I would buy it at any health food store for about six bucks with zero additional ingredients. The fact that this is a concentrate makes it easier for people to say they couldn't taste the flavor. I ordered coconut and cherry. The bottle had a seal on it and was filled to the top. The cherry was 1/3 full but had a flimsy piece of cellophane around it. This doesn't sit well for a food item, considering Amazon's tendency to re-sell returned items. The item was sold on Amazon. I'm returning both. There is an update. The product is not eligible for return.

4. Rodelle Organic Bakers Extract Ounce

Rodelle Organic Bakers Extract Ounce

All natural and organic alternatives are certified by the USDA. Use in any recipe that calls for it. A blend of natural flavors such as chocolate, caramel, cream and oak. Kosher andGluten Free are certified.

Brand: Rodelle

👤I like to bake. The majority of desserts require extract. It's expensive to have the extract of iva. It is not as good as imitation vanilla extract. I can't tell the difference between this stuff and pure vanilla extract. If you don't want to pay $8 for 2oz of pure extract but also don't want a 4oz bottle, try this stuff. It also smells good.

👤I thought I was buying a fake extract. I didn't know it was a different extract with a cocoa flavor. The product tastes good in what I've used it for, but not when I'm making cupcakes or buttercream. I think it was my fault for not realizing it was not what I thought it was.

👤This is a cheaper alternative to pure vanilla extract. I only use it in recipes that have chocolate in them because you can smell the chocolate flavor in it. The end result was that you couldn't tell the difference between this extract and pure vanilla, for the recipes I've used it in.

👤I haven't tried this yet. I'm not sure if I want to try it. It appears that a lot of the extract has spilled out over the bottle. There is no evidence of a spill in the shipping box. I can tell you that this means the spill happened before shipping. I wonder if I have been sold a previous return that should not have been sold at full price.

👤This is an amazing alternative to store-bought chocolate. I'll never use plain vanilla again. It smells amazing, tastes amazing, and doesn't add color. So good!

👤Rodelle's Baker's Extract is a staple in my cupboard, and I am an avid baker. I can't stand the taste of the imitation junk in the grocery store. Rodelle's tastes ten times better than the imitation stuff and works out to cost the same. Make sure you shake it because the cocoa settles in the bottom. I don't measure this anymore because it's too good to limit it to 1 percent in my cookies.

👤The bottle I received had an orange lid taped on, but no inner seal. I asked if they had a different bottle. I am not sure if this has been tampered with.

👤I can't afford it, but we need it if we bake. I have tried this brand and it seems to work. The price is decent for now.

5. OliveNation Pure Strawberry Extract Oz

OliveNation Pure Strawberry Extract Oz

If you like fresh strawberries, you will love their strawberry extract. Adding it to your desserts will intensify the strawberry flavor. It can be used to give a boost to the flavor of your strawberry jams and preserves. Natural flavors, alcohol, and strawberry extractives are included.

Brand: Olivenation

👤The strawberry flavor is wonderful. It is very potent. You need to use an eye dropper to measure, unlike other less strong flavors. If you get a flavor that is bitter or similar to alcohol, you used too much. I use it to flavor iced tea. I only use about 1/3 of a liter of flavoring for a gallon of tea. The normal measures in a recipe will not substitute for the strength of this flavoring. If you don't believe in the strength, I'd like to know if you've ever tasted the extract from the bottle. If you love baking cookies, cakes or tea, you'll probably think that the taste of vanilla is terrible. If you think yours tastes bad, try using less. You should experiment with a little until you know how much you need for a particular recipe. For a gallon of tea, I can use mango extract, strawberry, watermelon, and apricot, but I need to experiment with the last one. Hope that helps you. It's a good thing.

👤The different flavors of this product are reviewed in different ways. It doesn't matter if you love it or hate it. I ordered a red berry and it was terrible. I threw the bottle in the recycling bin after pouring it down the drain. The smell was bad. I can't think of a better way to describe it. I tasted a little of it and it was too much alcohol and not a red raspberry flavor at all. I would say there is something not stable in the manufacturing of these extracts. It seems that some batches are getting too much alcohol while others are getting too much flavoring and for those that get it just right. OliveNation should start looking at how their product is made. There is a place that should be addressed. I will be looking elsewhere until there is improvement. Thank you for your time.

👤Key Lime is their only dream flavor. This is the worst thing I have ever used. There is no lime about it. It had an after taste that kept me up all night. Do yourself a favor and not order this. I am usually a positive reviewer, but there was nothing positive to say about this product. I tried to use this to get that flavor, but it was an epic failure because we can't find key limes here most of the year. The whole recipe was thrown away. My husband helped me dump it. We don't throw food away easily.

👤I know why I used Cooks Pure Almond Extract, after getting this brand. The first one is alcohol, followed by water and finally oil of bitter almond. Oil of Bitter Almond, Alcohol and water are the ingredients of the Cook's brand. The brand from Olive Nation is barely up to standard because the first ingredient is always the primary one. The bottle has proof to it. The Olive Nation brand smells like alcohol, not almonds, and the Cooks brand has no alcohol smell. I thought the Olive Nation brand would be a less expensive alternative, but once again, you get what you pay for. I can't recommend this brand unless you use far more to get the same flavor as from another brand that has a superior ingredient priority.

6. OliveNation Pure Cinnamon Extract Tastes

OliveNation Pure Cinnamon Extract Tastes

It is a high quality extract. It's used in beverages, baked goods, ice cream, syrups and more. This extract is kosher and sugar-free. Natural extract in sauces for pork. Alcohol, natural cinnamon oil, and water are ingredients. OliveNation's cinnamon extract is very sweet and tastes like cinnamon.

Brand: Olivenation

👤This is okay in coffee but not Watkins.

👤I use it to refill my smaller bottles of coffee.

👤Good size for money. Good quality.

👤Our second bottle works great.

👤The cinnamon taste and scent of the product is good. It was great in my coffee.

7. OliveNation Strawberry Extract Ounce

OliveNation Strawberry Extract Ounce

If you like fresh strawberries, you will love their strawberry extract. Adding it to your desserts will intensify the strawberry flavor. It can be used to give a boost to the flavor of your strawberry jams and preserves. strawberry extract is sugar free.

Brand: Olivenation

👤I bought this product because my favorite smelling skin care product contained strawberry extract. I was under the impression that I would receive a bottle of beautiful berry goodness, replicating the incredible strawberry smell I wanted to incorporate into my other products. I was mistaken. When I opened this bottle, I smelled the smell. Similar to rotten fruit sitting outside in the summer. It was horrible. The taste was just like the smell. I bought strawberry extract at a cheap price. If you want high quality products that are fragrant, aromatic and palatable, make sure you spend the extra money and choose a different brand. This is where it belongs. In the TRASH!

👤I've used this in cupcakes, frosting, pancakes, and smoothies, and so far it's provided fresh, intense strawberry flavor in each item. It seems to have only the sweet flavor of strawberries with no tartness, so be sure to either reduce your sweetener or add a little acid to balance it out.

👤The label on the bottle says to cook or bake. The marketing in the description of this product claims otherwise. The label clearly says don't use it in smoothies or ice cream that won't be heated. I wanted to use it in a smoothie. The vendor told me not to believe the bottle label but to trust the marketing claims. The person who answered the phone made it sound like they didn't understand what they were talking about. "To cook" means "to cook by the use of heat, as by boiling, baking, or roasting; to subject (anything) to the application of heat" according to Dictionary.com. It's concerning that a company making food products sold in the USA either does not understand elementary school English words or is lying to sell a product.

👤The true sweetness of Strawberries can not be found in an extract. I can't say for certain if the alcohol used in the extraction process has an unpleasant taste. It just doesn't taste right. If you used an amount like that, it would not do anything. Still too weak, double up. You get a strawberry like taste, but not without the unpleasant taste. I won't buy this product again.

👤The strawberry and banana extract labels look the same. There is no photo of a strawberry like this one on Amazon. I made strawberry bread instead of banana bread. The bottles should look like the ones on Amazon. I'm not very fond of the flavor. The banana extract is great.

👤The strawberry extractives, alcohol, water, and natural flavors are listed in the description. The picture shows that they did not list glycerin. Some people don't want to use glycerin, which is a natural flavor.

👤The item was well packaged and arrived in a timely manner. It was wrapped in bubble wrap. The bottle had a good seal. The smell was great and the taste was even better. This extract is amazing. The all natural extract from Olive nation is great. I don't like artificial extracts. A little of the strawberry extract can be used. I add a small amount to my shakes. You could add this to a lot of things, including milk, baked goods, shakes, all kinds of drinks, and frosting. Highly recommend this product! It was very delicious.

8. McCormick Culinary Orange Extract Fructose

McCormick Culinary Orange Extract Fructose

The extract of the orange balances out the tartness of the fruit. The oil of orange rinds gives the flavor of a bright orange. The flip-top cap allows you to either give individual drops or larger amounts of orange extract for bulk recipes. This 16-ounce bottle of orange extract can be used to create extraordinary menu items such as sorbet and sparkling water. It has an authentic orange taste and aroma while being kosher and non-GMO.

Brand: Mccormick Culinary

👤This review is for a drink. The product is not as good as the normal bottles of orange extract. I usually get a nice orange yogurt with 2 ounces of the 1 oz variety in 64 ounces of plain yogurt. The yogurt had a slight orange flavor and I put in 8 ounces. This product was able to water down my yogurt and make it runny because of all the added water and alcohol. I wouldn't buy this again. I will keep the normal small bottles. They have a very strong flavor.

👤There is an update. After writing this review, I got a hankering to peel a blood orange. I put the peel in a jar with the extract and waited a couple weeks. Much improved! The orange was left out of my batches. It's going to sit for a couple more weeks before straining. I have been inspired to make my own extracts. Is strong liquor like Everclear, but also vodka possible? Do you have a food that deserves flavor removal? Yes. It takes a few weeks. You shouldn't have to flavor brand name extracts, now! The reviews are for different flavors. I would give a different rating for other flavors, but Pure Orange is the only one I would do that for. There are alcohol, water, and oil of orange listed. I bet many brands of orange extract have the same ingredients. I bet this isn't bad as far as orange extracts go. If you don't know the way orange extract tastes, it might taste like alcohol with a lot of water, and you'll end up with a carton of orange juice. Just so you know. We use a lot of almond extract and lemon extract in our keto versions of our favorite old treats. I think this is one extract bottle that will be almost as full in a year as it is right now.

👤I had never bought orange extract before, but I kept finding recipes that called for it. I've decided that it's not for me after using it a number of times. The true flavor of oranges is not adequately recreated by the flavor. I'm not critical of this brand. I think all brands have a responsibility to share failing. I prefer to use a combination of orange rind and orange juice from a fresh orange, and frozen concentrated orange juice in an amount slightly greater than the amount of orange extract called for by a recipe. FCOJ is 4 times more concentrated than regular orange juice, so it delivers true orange flavor without adding too much liquid to a batter.

👤I wanted to make a low-fat version of the classic "low-cholesterol" Cointreau and needed orange to make it taste better. This does the trick at a lower cost than the little bottles of "Orange Extract" found in grocery stores. The rest of the recipe consists of fresh-squeezed lime juice. Oh, and some booze too.

👤The plastic lid on the top was broken when I got it. The box was sealed and there was no leak or broken piece. I believe the lid was broken before it was put in the box.

9. McCormick Almond Extract Fluid Ounce

McCormick Almond Extract Fluid Ounce

The perfect balance of fruity and nutty is found in the extract from the Almonds. USAGE tip: This extract is great for coffee and smoothie. No corn syrup. Add it to your favorite baked goods.

Brand: Mccormick

👤Went to the store to buy ingredients for the cookies. They did not have Almond, but they did have a extract of vanilla. I searched on prime from low to high. The second cheapest option was this one. I knew the brand name and picked this one. For a few cents more, it was worth it. It turned out amazing when I arrived the next day. If you're interested in making cookies, you'll find the ingredients below. I also bought the strawberry and raspberry jam from Amazon. I preferred the strawberry. Dough: 2 sticks softened butter, 2 cups sugar, 1tsp almond extract, 2 cups flour, 14 tsp salt, jam. Marky's. MARKY's OrganicRaspberry Jam Spread has 85% fruit reduced sugar.

👤I use almond extract in my coffee and baking to make it taste better. It is by far the best. I have tried many brands. Some of them have the same strength of almond taste, but others are just bitter. I've discarded a lot of less expensive options.

👤The scent and flavor are wonderful. I drink it into my coffee. It gets overpowering fast if you use more than a spoon in a cup.

👤A big bottle. There is little money. It's great for baking.

👤I realize that I am writing a review, but I have always been a fan of the extracts. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Birthdays and all celebrations have been with us. The flavor and quality are exceptional. It was tried and true. It's a pantry staple! Never Without!

👤Adding flavor to cakes provides a professional touch. It is recommended.

👤The Almond extract tastes great.

👤Great taste. The price is great. Would purchase again.

10. Watkins Natural Original Gourmet Vanilla

Watkins Natural Original Gourmet Vanilla

All naturally derived ingredients were used in this recipe. It is ideal for baking. Artificial colors or flavors are not allowed. Corn Syrup is Kosher.

Brand: Watkins

👤Watkins is inexpensive because it isn't a pure extract. It contains a lot of stuff, including natural flavors. The color of it is reduced because of the extract. It tastes different than vanilla, it isn't unpleasant. I'm ordering extract today. The buyer should beware.

👤I used to have tried other flavors, but now only Watkins is the one I use.

👤The good stuff is locked up. This is fine in a generic recipe. You can smell the artificial smell. Everyone needs a good B grade. Make sure you have a better one.

👤I bake 25 pounds of canned pecans a year. I needed to find a extract that was not so expensive. It was important to find a good one because of the flavor boost it gives to the pecans. Found it and loved it!

👤It is a little pricey but worth it. Excellent taste. I can still remember the Watkins salesman coming to my mother's door with household products. The label brought back happy memories of a simpler time. Love it.

👤There is a large letter on the label. There is a tiny letter note with other flavors.

👤Good product for a good price.

👤I like baking with this. It has quality ingredients, but not pure vanilla extract. It has a good flavor and is cheap.

11. Watkins Lemon Extract Ounce Packaging

Watkins Lemon Extract Ounce Packaging

Pure extract is great for baking. 100% Pure is made from natural oils. Artificial colors or flavors are not allowed. Corn Syrup is Kosher.

Brand: Watkins

👤The product is horrible. It smelled like opening a bottle of nail polish remover. This item is not eligible for a return on Amazon, even though I deem it to be faulty. Don't buy, you will ruin whatever baking you are using it in, so you'll be out more than the price of just this bottle. The item isn't eligible for a return. That's ridiculous.

👤Normally, I don't write negative reviews, but this extract is not lemon, nor is there anything pure about it! Lemon oil is the second ingredient. It smelled like shoe polish. I didn't think to taste it until I added it to my cake. I tasted it after the fact and it was terrible. I poured it down the drain and threw the cake out. Sorry to break anyone's bubble.

👤My cake tasted like alcohol. So sad and disappointed. The bundt cake came out great in the Nordic bundt pan but it was ruined by the extract. My kids and husband couldn't eat it, so it went into the garbage. What a waste.

👤I found the best price on Amazon. I use this to clean my floors. I use it to clean my floors. A few drops make the house smell clean and alcohol helps with the drying time since you have to be careful with wood floors. I have been using it for about 2 years.

👤The bottle on the left is the first bottle I bought. It has a nice lemon flavor. The bottle was delivered today. It doesn't have the same lemon flavor. The one on the right?

👤It appeared to be alcohol-based, but in a glass container. Nope. There is plastic. If you don't want the plastic bottle material to get into the extract, you may want to use a different product.

👤I kept my bottle in a dark cabinet after I bought it. It has gone bad. I have never had bad extract. I've been cooking since I was a child helping my mother and grandmother. I have always liked Watkins products, but I was very disappointed in this flavor.

👤I use Watkins Lemon all the time in baking, so I thought I'd give it a try, but it's terrible. The smell is not lemon at all. The letter was sent to Watkins.

👤I need a refund even though most of the flavour is gone. Very disappointing. It is from Watkins, which has never happened before. The smell and taste of alcohol is not very good in my baking.

👤The other brands didn't make a difference because it was very expensive to bake cake.
