Best Baking Flour Container

👤Terrible. Don't waste money! If you want standard size canisters, skip this. They are small. I have never seen canisters this large. It might work for a cabin, but not for a house. The spoons are not fit for use. To close the lids, you have to hold them down. Not sure what containers to use. I do not recommend.

👤I have mixed feelings about these canisters. It's not up to par with their standards. I liked the size of these. They are being used to keep speciality coffees in. These are smaller in size than kitchen canisters. They are perfect for a bag of coffee beans. While. I went with the name brand because I wanted to make sure the canisters met US standards for food safety, and since all of them were made in China, I decided to go with the name brand. I know these are legit because they are a direct Amazon.com product. The ceramic was smooth, there were no air pockets or bubbles, and the bottom was smooth so as to not damage stone countertops. Seals look to be tight when closed. The metal wire around the lid and neck is strong and durable, but the metal part you "flip" up to unhook from the lid is cheap. They are not easy to open, you have to work it out. I knocked a star off. My kitchen and pantry are plastic-free, and I use a lot of jars with hinged lids, but they are not up to the standard of a normal hinged lid. Why don't you keep them? I need something that looks good enough to sit out on my coffee bar and these do the trick. Three negatives were made in China. What isn't these days? Only hand wash. I like to wash my food in the dishwasher before storing it. There was no hot water or a good dish soap that could fix it. Imho... The packaging of these could be better. There are two boxes in one box and two boxes in a bigger box. There is one square piece of styrofoam in between the two canisters that are stacked on top of each other. There was no other packaging. It's clear what the contents of the box were because Amazon didn't use packing paper. I'm surprised they didn't get damaged. I will say that the reviewer was correct in her complaint about the box damaging her table. The flimsy boxes had holes from the hinges. If you're not careful, tables, countertops, and furniture can be damaged by metal.

👤I can stack them because they are smaller than my originals. I use my tea spoons because they are not nice. I haven't had any problems with the rubber gasket.

👤The cereals storage containers hold an entire box of cereals. I was impressed by that. The canisters are small and don't take a lot of space. They stack on top of each other. I purchased two sets of the matching containers, which I highly recommend. These are easy to clean and open when you need them. These are definitely worth the investment.

It doesn't always pour out easily, depending on the size of the cereals. We like them. The stickers are cute. I wish they had a better design.

👤The deceiving pictures show these are not clear. The butt to clean is a pain. The water stays in the seal after you wash the top part. The seal can't be removed from the lid and put back in. It is full of water. Don't waste your money.

👤The opening that you pour from is an issue for me. It is a circle so it doesn't line up nicely with the edge of the container which causes cereals to not pour out smoothly and it's nearly impossible to get out. The rubber seal makes it difficult to brush it back into the container. The last part of a bag of cereals won't come out of the container if the opening is a circle because the container is squared. The circle opening is small so you can't grab a lot of food.

👤None of the containers have a tight seal. I have purchased the same containers in the past from the store and they have worked perfectly. I was hoping for the same quality online. Will be contacting the seller to change my review.

👤When you use OXO products, you know to expect quality and these storage containers did not disappoint! 5 containers in 4 sizes are vacuum sealed to protect your food. The sizes are useful and can be used in many different ways. I put some liquid in one of them to make sure the seal is good. No liquid leaks out when you turn it upside down. You can partially disassemble the lid by removing the white plastic piece on top of the gasket, which will allow you to completely clean the gasket. I used this on the olives and it worked well. The container has no smell. The OXO containers are the best in food storage containers.

👤I am very disappointed. The Oats are the old large containers I bought at Bed Bath and Beyond. I bought the smaller set through Amazon and they are not good. I'm upset about this.

👤These containers are of the highest quality. Very strong. I love the way the air is sucked up. Oxo makes great products. I feel misled about the size. I know the listing has several options. I didn't realize that the pictures I was looking at for my specification weren't necessarily pictures of what I had chosen. I ordered a set of five, but couldn't find anything that would fit in the containers. I had to empty and fill them multiple times. I had a hard time estimating because of the liquid measurement of the containers. I expected them to be much larger than they are.

👤The suction doesn't work. It will come off if you pull it up. It will be fine if you keep it straight. This is bad news if you are packing and moving. The brand used to be better a few years ago, but judging by the current plastic and lids they use, it is quite obvious they have gone down in quality. Not worth the money.

👤I love my new set. It holds up when the containers are full. The prices were reasonable and they were dishwasher safe. My experience with the company was amazing. I recently purchased the new Oxo-Grip, and when they arrived, the box looked fine, and there was no reason to suspect that the product inside would be damaged. It was damaged. I wondered if I wanted to return & exchange or go with a different company all together. I sent the company an email explaining my experience with the package. They were amazing. They shipped me a new set in less than two hours. I was very happy. Excellent customer service and a great product.

👤The canisters are very thin and fragile. The item arrived quickly and looked great. One of the canisters on my counter top was lightly grabbed. The canister shattered when bumped as one would with normal use. There were chia seeds everywhere and a glass well. These aren't necessarily cheap, so I expected better quality. I wouldn't recommend it. I will be looking for an alternative set of canisters because I think the others will eventually shatter as well.

👤These are wonderful! It's beautiful, simple and surprisingly sturdy. It's packaged soo. You will make two trips to the recycling bin. My cabinet is beautiful, no longer chaotic evil. If you pull the Trigger, you should buy these and corresponding spice jars. There are lil labels and chalk pen. Not that farmhouse stuff has minimalist labels. I cook several times a day. They have stood up to my clumsiness. Several months later, not a single broken jar. I bought more. Make your kitchen beautiful with these!

👤Ken Forkish recommends this as an alternative to the bucket in his book. It's not as clear as glass, but it's plenty see-through for monitoring the rise. It doesn't seem to scratch very easily, which is great since it would likely affect the translucency very quickly. The size is perfect for stretching and folding, which is a big improvement over the large mixing bowl I was using previously. It's easy to wash, which is important for a big item that may not fit in many sinks. I can use a plastic scraper to get rid of most of my bread dough before the part is done. It is slightly flexible. I don't think it will break easily. It's not worse for wear after I accidentally stepped on the vertical part of the side. Even when the container is heavy, the handles give good control. It's useful for mixing large batches of anything else, and it's also useful for carrying things. I think that local restaurant supply stores would sell similar items much less expensively, because it's a little spendy for a plain plastic container. I just use a towel on top, but the matching lids are available for purchase elsewhere. It has a large footprint and can be used to hold other things while it's being stored.

They are a good size for mixing ingredients and for letting dough rise. The air tight seal seems to fit the lid. I expect them to out last me because they are made well. 👤The container is a 12 quart container. It is possible that Cambro makes an identical looking one in Clear polycarbonate, which is a harder, translucent kind of "acrylic" material. The latter is pictured in his book for breadmaking fans. It comes without a lid, but Amazon recommends the one that matches it. It is plastic and flexible, but it is good quality and solid. I own a polycarbonate version that I would use for things that may stain, and uses that involve heat, so I would use it for those. The price is 2x the price for the polycarbonate version. It's a great product for its price and quality.

👤Ken Forkish has bread recipes. I went with this one because it's supposedly free of the harmful substance. You can still see through it to see how much rise you have, but it is not as clear as the container that Forkish recommends.

I re-read the listing to make sure it wasn't my fault that it was in a confusing or vague way. I was very disappointed with the product I received. I am using jars that are not what I wanted, but they are easier to use than returning them.

It's flimsy and you have to pay attention not to bend the bail. They're ok for decorative purposes, but not practical for everyday use so I will be returning them and sticking with Bormioli Rocco Jars.

The containers were thrown away with the contents. I don't think it's smart to waste money on containers and food by relying on their claims. I will test their claims this time, because I'm looking for airtight storage containers. This lesson was very expensive and I won't repeat it.

👤I hate tin cans so I bought this for baby formula. The cans of powdered formula are in this perfect hold. It seems very tight. I put hooks on the front of the scoop. I tell everyone that will listen that I'm all about making things easy.

👤This is between a 'okay' and a 'I like it'. If you put a whole bag of flour or sugar in this, you can't use the leveler because it's too full. If it's too full, you have to be very careful when opening it because the flour and sugar will get on top of the leveler and then spill out when you open the container. I would have just taken the leveler out and thrown it into a drawer if I had the chance. It should be removed and stored in the lid of the container.

👤Disappointed. I bought the same brand, different line of containers, and they were much better quality than the ones I bought in the kitchen store. The quality would have been consistent. The plastic does not seem to be the same quality as the other ones. I was disappointed because I thought I was ordering the same item for my summer home when I used them in my winter home. If you want a quality item for less money, buy the Progressive ProKeeper line. I sent the containers back. They advertised that they could open the containers with one hand. I couldn't open them with two hands. The ProKeeper is very easy to open and close. The ProKeeper was ordered by me.

👤I didn't use it right away, but I used it in 2015 and it seemed to work as expected. I put a new bag of brown sugar in the container and put the stone back on the rubber holder after re-wetting it. I opened the container last night and found the disk was rotten with black spots and the rubber where it was stored was cracking. It was also moldy and hairy. My mistake was to put the wet disk back on the holder rather than on top or in the middle of the sugar. The mold has grown and the rubber is breaking. The thought of using it with a new bag of sugar is not good. The mold is disgusting if you Debating whether to use it again. The hinged lid is not something I am happy with. I use the Sistema storage containers for flour and powdered sugar, and they have separate lids and lock clasps. I bought this brand for brown sugar. I don't think it's a good purchase.

👤Terrible. The look is great but not air tight. There is a small space in a few of my jars. The ground coffee spilled out when I tipped the jar. Keeping food fresh and away from bugs is not as important as it used to be. One of the orange "silicone" rings can easily rip. I tried to change the position of the ring so I could see the space I saw. There was no luck. It is more difficult to return these jars since I have six, but I placed two orders for them. I will keep them and look for ones that do the job right, not just look good in a pantry shelf or counter top.

I used my Silhouette to make labels. I am very happy with how they turned out. I still have a few items I need to change and will be buying more for them. I used rice to measure out how much they would hold before dumping the baking items in them, and thought the little note cards may help others when deciding on purchasing these items!

👤The shape of these containers makes them perfect for cabinets or just on the counter. Square parameters save space. I leave them on the counter because they stack neatly and are snug together. I keep dry ingredients like rice, oats, chilis, lentils, and pasta. They are tight enough to keep the buggers out of dry goods. To make sure it is air tight, I put a layer of plastic wrap over the top, wider than the opening, so it can stretch downward when the cap is placed. I don't add cereals or things that can go rancid easily. It is easier to leave them in their bags with a clip. No mess, no clean. If you want it to look good, you can put chips, cookies, and candies in there. The taller the container, the harder it is to clean. If you add anything sticky, be aware of the potential cleaning you need to do and come to terms with that first. It's a good thing. Popcorn and other snacks could be placed when guests come over. It would look great. You could use a 1/2 cup measuring cup or a plastic rice cup. The containers were in a sturdy cardboard box. The box you get from Amazon is more thick and stiff. They were triple boxed and wrapped with bubble wrap to protect them from breaking. I could tell by the packaging that there was a high probability of me enjoying these containers. They feel like they are fragile after unwrapping it. These were light in weight, but after I filled the containers with my dry goods, they felt strong and dense. They came clean and did not have any marks or prints. There are some finger prints if you held it to the light, but overall it is very clean. The product came with a nice note and I appreciated that the seller cared for their customers. It's very likely that you would highly recommend. I'm going to do my second and third set after this review. If you like the product, you should buy 1 set first. If you would benefit from more, use it for a week or two. A set for a coffee table with treats, a set on the kitchen counter, and a few sets to organize your kitchen cabinets. I hope the review helps you enjoy the product as much as I do.

👤There are 5 canisters in the picture, 2 large, 2 medium, and 1 small. The box was large, medium and small. Customer support did an online chat. I was told a replacement order with the correct sizes of canisters was on the way. I could send the first order back. The new order was the same as the first one. Not what the picture shows. The canisters seem to be working. You might have a problem if you need 2 of the large size. Hopefully by the time you read this, they will either correct the photo or put the sizes shown in your order.

👤I like these. I was able to organize my pantry. These are my favorite air tight containers. The twist on top is very simple. They do get some water in the lid, but it's nothing to give less stars over. They are worth it.

👤I bought the large set of the round ones because it was half the price of the square ones. It's perfect for my baking supplies. It is impossible to get all the water out of the tops when you clean them, because there is water in between and inside. Is anyone else stressed about this?

The 4 quart size weighs 1.6oz and is 11.875” tall, while the 2.5 quart size weighs 14.6oz and is 9.25′′ tall. It is easy to clean and install the gasket on the lid. The handle has an arrow on it. It is easy to turn the handle to make sure there is a tight seal. One of my pet peeves is a container that has a hard to use lid. I like the lids on this set. Amazon's 10-piece square airtight food storage containers are easy to use and clean.
