I decided to try the Artizanka baskets because of the issues with Breadtopia. The Artizanka baskets are comparable in quality, and I like the wooden disks for impressing shapes into the loaves. The baskets are made of the same material as my older ones, but the diameter of the rattan is slightly smaller. The wood disks fit in my older baskets and the wrapping and stapling of the rattan is good quality. You can share the wood disks with other round baskets in the set. The linen liner is as good as any I have ever purchased, and the basket also comes with it. I have used my baskets with or without linen, depending on whether I want the loaf smooth or not. I used the basket and disks. I have never used impressing stamps in bread. If you fill the cavity with rice flour, you can use too much rice flour on the disks. duh! The baskets are well made and should last a long time. I bought a second basket because I was so happy with the first one.

This isn't a bad banneton for the amateur home baker who just wants to step up their bread baking a bit. The cut outs are cute and the dough scraper feels good in the hands. The banneton holds flour well. I conditioned my basket an hour after it arrived. The flour leaves good marks. The bad. The basket is from China. This was in a warehouse for a while. The issue with a lot of warehoused self items is that they get damaged the longer they sit around and aren't rotating out. This banneton is not for the hole or the indent which ruins the basket, it is for the quality of the banneton. If I use the insert, the hole is covered by the wood circles design. Again, look at photos. I thought it would be a lottery gamble. I read reviews and took a chance on this brand. I think it will serve its purpose, but I don't think I'll be ordering more from this brand or seller anytime soon.

The liner fits well and doesn't smell bad. The wooden inserts are what sets this basket apart. I used them for the first time and one did work, but the other did not. I like to do my own scoring but having these inserts makes it so much easier and fun. I already have my own professional scraper, which is included in the set. The seller should replace the plastic scraper with a metal one because it is very solid and does its job. It took longer than usual to receive my order. I guess I ordered it at peak season.

👤Light balls surfaced. Only 1/3 of the bottom of a typical pie plate was covered. These pie weight balls are a great choice if you need enough coverage of weights that will be hard to keep clean. They are a complete waste if they are not. Balls leave a white powder after use. It's great if you like a little Taiwanese cereamic dust.

👤I'm surprised at how many people complain about the dustiness of these pie weights, but they're easy to rinse off and dry, and they were never meant to go into a pie crust naked. If you line your pie with foil or parchment, the little babies will distribute the heat evenly, and they won't leave any particles behind in the pie. Remove them after a few minutes and then bake to dry and brown the bottom of the crust. My complaints are the same as everyone else's: one box is not enough to hold up the sides and lock them in place during blind baking, so consider the price doubled and get two; and I keep mine in a jar.

The pie weights should come up the sides of the pie pan to make sure the bottom of the pie is pressed against the tin. I plan to buy more of these pie weights because I like them and they are easy to clean and store.

The ceramic beads work better than dried beans because the ceramic holds the heat and helps the crust brown. One set would have been sparse if other reviewers had not complained that the number of weights was skimpy. New ceramic pie weights will be covered in ceramic dust during shipping. Before use, be sure to rinse them in a collander. The liner should always be used over the crust. The weights will become embedded in the crust and it will be toast. I apologize for the bad pun. - If you smooth the liner over the unbaked crust before filling it with beads, the beads won't roll around as easily. The plastic storage box is flimsy, and it's difficult to put the weights back in it after use. A colored canning jar is great if you want a simpler storage solution or if your box breaks. I use a turqoise antique Ball jar. I found that there are many other items that could be used just as well as the ceramic beads for pie weights, such as the glass beads for flower arranging, and the tumbled stones. You can get the equivalent of two packages for a dollar, so the stones and glass beads are far more economical, and you could use them in your flower vases when you're not baking pies. If you do this, wash them well afterwards. You can get glass beads that are flat, so they are easier to handle. The glass beads are not the same as the gel beads. The glass beads will be safe in an oven because of the high melting point of the glass.
