Best Baking Glass Dish with Lid Set

👤I am happy to have this set of casserole dishes. The box had no information on the range of use for the dishes, so I am suspect of their quality. Good quality glassware usually has this info stamped into the glassware itself, even though it should be okay to 400 F / -40 C. I'm not sure if it's borosilicate glass, because the box says it was made in China. I kept the casseroles warm in the oven at about 300 degrees while I prepared the table. The dishes seem to be on the thin side for bakeware, as noted by others. I will change my review if they don't last.

👤I love this set. The smart design makes it easy to see what's inside, easy to store when not in use, and easy to clean. The sizes are perfect for soups, salads, chili, leftovers, and more. The lids can be used to serve dishes. You can use them in a number of places. They're cute. I used this dish at a group party and everyone loved it. When it was first shipped, it wasn't packed properly and items were broken and missing. The item was replaced and received again without any issues.

👤The order was received quickly. I received them in perfect condition and they were packed well. There are different sized bowls. The bowl and lid is pictured in the pic. I agree with some of the reviews that these are not thick. I believe they will hold up. If you don't have a lot of storage space for dishes and containers, they're perfect because you can use the lids as serving dishes so they will work well for dorms, etc.

👤I've used the Pyrex bowls since the 1980's. The sizes are perfect for our smaller microwaves. I was worried that the biggest dish in the set wouldn't be able to spin freely on the turntable. There is no clearance issue despite the ample handles. I'm not sure if there is a claim to the color of the glass. It is very faint blueish-green when viewed cross sectional. The walls, lid and bottom of the bowls are the same as they were 30 years ago, but are slightly thinner. They seem to be made for me. These are difficult to find. I gave my grandson one set because he loves them and hasn't tried them in the oven. I can't speak to that use. If you've ever had a set of Anchor Ovenware, they are basically the same thing. You will love them.

👤I don't care if it's not turquoise at all, it's clear glass. I care that the glass is broken and shattered. We got that stuff all over the place when we opened the box. The only way to remove the dust was with a vacuum. It's dangerous.

👤I like the new bowls. The Pyrex bowls I've used for years always require a soft scrub pad to remove cooked on food and a second wash after they have dried. The old Pyrex bowls were a lot heavier in weight than the newBorosilicate bowls. No scrub pad is required, the dish rag can be used, and there is no cloudy white mess after the bowls are dried. The handles on the bowl and lid are not as large as the diameter of the lid, so it is not possible to lift it off the bowl. They are a bit slippery when stacking them. I only stack them one on the other with the lid on the bowls if I take a picture for this review. The bowls pass Panasonic's "Container Test" for safe microwave oven use, which can be found in the owner's manual. Since buying these bowls, I'm using the microwave oven a lot more.

👤Meat and vegetables do not stick to glass. It is easy to wash. If there is a small piece under the water stream, it will come off. Not a lot of oil needs it. There were a couple of drops. I like it.

👤I love the products from Anchor Hocking. It has handle slots that I like. I always use glass or steel bakeware. This pan is perfect for casserole dishes. It is nice and heavy. I don't know how you can take this from a fridge to a pre-heated oven, because glass bakeware is sensitive to sudden temperature changes. I don't think I would do that.

I was worried that I would make a fatal purchase that would result in hours of cursing and ruin my life because of the reviews about Pyrex exploding, so I looked at the 3Qt version. The change in manufacturer likely played a part in the dip in reported quality, but it's likely enough to avoid explosions. I can still say that I am very pleased with the Anchor Hocking dish, even though I might not have been entirely right about it. The rounded design is pleasing and the holes on the handle make picking it up simple. I was unsure if I would like it because it is slightly smaller at the base, but I like it a lot. The rounded interior makes preparing dishes and cleaning them even easier because you don't have to use a brush to get those last bits of food. I will look to Anchor Hocking for future glass bake ware needs.

👤I was looking for a deep dish pan for a long time, without having to pay a fortune for the cast iron ones. This worked well and turned out a beautiful deep professional looking lasagna that was cooked evenly. The clear glass made a nice serving dish. It matches everything. I will probably purchase the square version from Crate and Barrel.

👤The baking is better than using a metal panel because of the solid design with handles to remove from the oven and the soft sponge that is easy to clean. Do not move from the oven to the freezer until the temperature is fully cool, and follow the temperature suggestions.

👤I'm past the point where I can return this to Amazon. Have only used them once. My daughter asked "what is this?" when I served her food after I put one in the microwave to cook potatoes for 2 minutes. There was a sharp piece of glass that came off the inside edge of the glass lid. The lid fell into the food when it cracked off. I just put the lid on and it's very concerning. The glass lid should not be used with this product. She saw the glass shards in the food.

👤I was taking another glass baking dish out of my storage cabinet, when I barely touched the other glass dish. The Anchor Hocking dish was not dropped or banged into and was resting on a rubber bottom of the storage cabinet. It was like I touched a sweet spot and it exploded or shattered in a hundred shards of glass. No big pieces? All very sharp. This glass is not possible. 70% of the glass stayed in the cabinet, but some of it flew out with force. A piece of metal pierced my foot. It was a deep cut and I needed to be treated by a doctor. I had this product for less than a year. I wouldn't buy this brand again. I cook all the time in my fifties. I've never experienced glass breaking this way before. No one should have this product in their house. I don't want a replacement or a refund. I don't want anyone else to get hurt.

👤Within 5 seconds of being put in the oven, this pie plate shattered. There were no obvious defects in the glass and the oven temperature was within the range the plate is supposed to tolerate. I'm not sure what happened. It was a waste of money and it broke when I was trying to cook Christmas Dinner. The other two plates were thrown away. I don't want another pie ruined. Don't buy it.

👤These are perfect for making half size pies. We have a lot of desserts that go to waste. I have begun making mini versions of cakes and pies. I wanted to make one recipe and split it into two so that I could attend two family events. The regular pie recipe splits between two pie plates. They bake up nice. Having 6 means I can make lots of different types.

👤I have to return the set because the casseroles have air bubbles in them that will cause them to crack when used in the oven at high temperatures, I know this from experience. I would have loved to have been able to keep this set as it looks amazing, but I know they will not last long due to the air bubbles.

👤All of the dishes had air bubbles in them and small divots from where I am assuming air bubbles formed by the surface of the dish. Glass dishes can explode with air bubbles. The seller gave me a full refund, however I would have preferred to have the dishes. They could have recycled them instead of having quality control at the factory. There is no excuse to send out a 4 piece product that has defects. I would rather have paid more for better quality and waited longer to receive it, even though we are still going through a Pandemic which is causing labor issues.

👤It's unbelievable. I've been in the glass industry for 29 years. These are not good. We will be sending them back again. Some of the larger items have cracked in the bottom, some are from the glass being shaped, others are within the structure known as a fissure or Runner. Someone looked at the factory and decided to let it slide. This is the reason why the dishes break when heat is applied in the oven or dishwasher. Not a good product. Hold them up to the light and look at the bottom closely.
