Best Baking Glass Dish

👤It exploded in the oven. This isn't real Pyrex, it's dangerous junk. I reached in with a spatula to remove the fish from the dish that exploded when I tried to broil it. Real Pyrex is made from borosilicate which is very heat resistant and cheap lime glass. The Pyrex brand was sold by Corning in 1998 and the current owners use it as a brand name, but they don't make it out of actual pyrex glass. You can find references to exploding pyrex on the internet, including from Consumer Reports. I wish I'd done the search before I bought this, it's left me with an oven full of shattered glass. If you are looking for Pyrex, you should look for borosilicate baking dishes.

The Anchor Hocking dish was not dropped or banged into and was resting on a rubber bottom of the storage cabinet. This glass is not possible. 70% of the glass stayed in the cabinet, but some of it flew out with force. A piece of metal pierced my foot. It was a deep cut and I needed to be treated by a doctor. I had this product for less than a year. I wouldn't buy this brand again. I cook all the time in my fifties. I've never experienced glass breaking this way before. No one should have this product in their house. I don't want a replacement or a refund. I don't want anyone else to get hurt.

The sizes of these casserole dishes are different from my other dishes and they will all be very useful. I am happy the two smaller ones fit in my oven. I love that this set is stackable, so they don't take as much space for storage. I noticed that the grooves in the handles were hard to clean after reading a few reviews. The grooves are not deep, so I don't understand. After they cool, soak them in warm soapy water and use a brush to clean them. This isn't a problem for me. These dishes are easy to clean. I don't put them in the dishwasher, but I do wash them by hand. I have used them in the microwave and in the oven, and they have been perfect. 👤I have lost 50 pounds on a diet that includes raw and roasted veggies every night. I use a lot of the cooking sprays and seasonings that make the glass baking dishes stained dark. This product is bright in yellow and has roasted veggies inside. My husband travels, so when it is me. The smallest dish is perfect for a single serving. My biggest must-have is easy to clean. I can't give my new SWEEJAR baking dishes 5 stars because the handles required a lot of elbow grease to get white again after just a single use. The handle grips have ridges, but you can't see them in the photo. These dishes are hard to clean because of the ridges. The grips should be smooth like the rest of the dish. The inside of the dish is very easy to clean after soaking it in hot sudsy water. Unless you want the same ugly brown stains as my glass baking dishes, there is no way to clean the handles.

👤I returned this set for a new one already because of worse defects. The quality control and packaging here is so bad that one of the small storage/sauce bowls was cracked or chipped. The main cooking pan has a full scratch on the side and the small cooking pan has marks from having a cold mould. The first set I returned had many defects and was worse than this one. If you want a cheap Pyrex set, go to a store and get it for 60 dollars.

👤I use pyrex cookwear. I enjoy cooking with glass. I put the casserole dish in the oven and then put the meet on the hot glass to see it. Instead of going into the oven, it shattered apart all over the kitchen: glass all over the floor and all over the counter. I don't need this kind of quality. It worked well for general baking if temperatures rise and fall gradually, but it doesn't do as well as my other pyrex. I don't know if it's really pyrex.

The Pyrex dish should have suffered injuries if it had been misuse on my end. I make cakes with no added fat. I don't use cooking spray. The cake sticks to a thin layer of crumbs, the same as it does with a non-stick. After you soak it in water for a while, it will clean itself with a sponge. The lid makes a nice seal.

I've had them pop off when I've moved containers around in a cabinet and even when they have contents in them, which is quite scary.
