Best Baking Glass Pan

👤The platter exploded in my oven at only 300 degrees and I was making a desert. The cost of food loss and the cost of a cleaning lady were both incurred and I did not get the money back. I was very disappointed in losing my desert while having guest over. I own some Pyrex that is over 100 years old, but I am wondering if it was authentic. I wanted this platter because it was bigger than the one I already have, and I was going to use it for lasagna at Christmas, but luckily it didn't happen on that day. If you buy this, be careful.

👤This is a fake Pyrex. After a few months of use, I found the dish in many pieces, and was too late to return it for a refund. The item was not touched or dropped. It self destructed and was found in many pieces. This exploded during use according to other negative reviews. Pyrex is not safe.

👤I took care of the dish. I did not shock it with high or low temperatures. I followed every rule I could find, but the Pyrex casserole dish was not extended life. The Dish was a month short of it's one-year birthday. The lip of the dish was extended by a fault-line. That is a manufacturing flaw. I would have given the Pyrex casserole dish a 5 star review if it weren't for a manufacturing flaw.

👤This is the perfect size for brownies. I use box mix. They are too thin for my liking. I make a double batches in this pan for parties. I have used this for cake and it is awesome.

👤I used to own a lot of old school Pyrex. I haven't bought a newer version before. I baked a ham in this one the night it arrived and it worked perfectly, despite the warnings from Leary that dishes breaking in the oven due to the change in the type of glass used. It was packed in bubble wrap. It would have had to be thrown from the street to the porch for it to chip. I hope it lasts as long as my older ones did.

👤I love the products from Anchor Hocking. It has handle slots that I like. I always use glass or steel bakeware. This pan is perfect for casserole dishes. It is nice and heavy. I don't know how you can take this from a fridge to a pre-heated oven, because glass bakeware is sensitive to sudden temperature changes. I don't think I would do that.

The change in manufacturer likely played a part in the dip in reported quality, but it's likely enough to avoid explosions. I can still say that I am very pleased with the Anchor Hocking dish, even though I might not have been entirely right about it. The rounded design is pleasing and the holes on the handle make picking it up simple. I was unsure if I would like it because it is slightly smaller at the base, but I like it a lot. The rounded interior makes preparing dishes and cleaning them even easier because you don't have to use a brush to get those last bits of food. I will look to Anchor Hocking for future glass bake ware needs.

I will probably purchase the square version from Crate and Barrel.

👤The baking is better than using a metal panel because of the solid design with handles to remove from the oven and the soft sponge that is easy to clean. Do not move from the oven to the freezer until the temperature is fully cool, and follow the temperature suggestions.

👤The photo shows a sticker in the corner. I don't like stickers that leave a mark. I am one of the people who reviews a product before it is used. It's really bad. I tried my best to remove sticky stuff withPam cooking spray and some fingernail scratching, but it didn't work. It seems ideal with the lid style. It's perfect for a small dish. I will keep it and try it. Over time, it may be hard to get the residue off.

👤This bakeware is large and looks great. Trying to remove the sticker from the glass. The lid is impossible. I made a mistake using the rough side of my sponge while using dish soap and hot water. There are scratches on it. Why do they put a sticker on PLEXIGLASS that won't work? Why not put a piece of cardboard in the dish with a message? I think I'm not the only one who's complained about this.

I use a plastic scrubber to remove bits from the dishwasher. Baking soda and dish soap can be used to clean food stuck on it. This review is for the loaf pan. I don't understand why it says a pie pan at the top. When I submit my review, I am told that it is "Loaf Pan" at the top, but when I edit it, I am told that it is "Pie Pan" at the bottom. Weird.

👤I was looking for something bigger, but I couldn't find the dementions in the description. If anyone else is wondering, it is 10X14. It is easy to clean. I still like having this one even though I had to order another one. We are very pleased with it.

On a few of the sizes, the lid can't be securely attached, and on others, I can get it to push down and secure, but after a couple of hours in the fridge, the lid pops off. It isn't worth the purchase. Buy a brand that is more durable.

👤I bought one of these because of the reputation of pyrex. I was worried after I received the item because I found out most people don't know how to use glass baking dishes or follow instructions. I've never had anything explode in the oven or where I've been with glass bakeware. The instruction tells you not to thermally shock the glass, which is not a good idea for anyone over 10. People don't drink coffee out of glasses because of that. They need a handle that a mug offers. The pyrex could be used to make a sauce. The new pyrex isn't a big deal. If you remove your dish from the oven, it should go onto a dry cloth or cooling rack on your stove. Not onto a room temperature counter that will shock it or onto a pool of water on your counter that is room temp. I don't want to eat at your house if you don't add liquid to this dish before roasting meats, you should do that with all roasting meats. We owned our dish and it was dropped from the stove top on the second day we owned it. It did not break or crack. I've been using it for a while now and have no problems. It's not a sheet pan that you can abuse. Like Cast Iron cookware, glassware is similar. You have to know how to use it and take care of it.

👤I love the Pyrex brand and have several pieces of food storage ware, but this was my first piece of cookware. While I have a few casserole pans that are small enough to fit full sized noodles, they aren't large enough to fit full sized noodles. I had to add an extra step to cut the noodles in half. I was looking for a good quality large baking dish when it went down in price to 7 dollars. This was a steal, but it's worth the money even if it's only 20 dollars. I was looking for a Pyrex baking dish. It's a large size with 15 inches long, 10 inches wide and 2 inches deep. I was able to make a 6 layer lasagna and have enough depth for another layer or two. If you are feeding a crowd, this is the perfect baking dish to make casseroles, chicken parm, and other baked dishes. The risk of shattering glass bakeware is due to thermal shock, which occurs when the glass expands due to temperature change. Something is taught in high school. I'm not trying to be rude but it's easy to forget things you learned in high school chemistry. Pyrex glass is not impervious to thermal shock. There are two rules to follow. 1) If you want to place the bakeware on the counter, make sure the counter is not too cold and that the dish has reached room temperature. I remember my mother following those rules even after Pyrex changed their glass formula. I'm not saying you can't put it in the fridge or on the counter after it's out of the oven, but why would you want to put it in the oven? If it is properly handled and cared for, this Pyrex baking dish will be used to make large baked meals for years to come.

👤Looking forward to using 3 of the dishes. The second to largest dish has a small air bubble in the glass, which is the reason it has 4 stars. I would not fault a small flaw like this, but with the dish going in and out of the oven, the expanding and contracting air can cause the dish to break. I'll have to put that dish away.

I like that they're glass because they're easy to clean, easy to see if they're clean or not, and they fit into my other kitchen appliances/dishware/cookware, they vary in size and depth to fit into each other Russian doll style and still remain I like the variety of size for cooking. Very pleased with the purchase. They were well packaged and there was no wiggle room to worry about damage. These pans are amazing! It is easy to wash and dishwasher safe. The largest is what I go to. Nothing sticks to them. It's hard to sit in water to wash.

👤I have to return the set because the casseroles have air bubbles in them that will cause them to crack when used in the oven at high temperatures, I know this from experience. I would have loved to have been able to keep this set as it looks amazing, but I know they will not last long due to the air bubbles.

👤All of the dishes had air bubbles in them and small divots from where I am assuming air bubbles formed by the surface of the dish. Glass dishes can explode with air bubbles. The seller gave me a full refund, however I would have preferred to have the dishes. They could have recycled them instead of having quality control at the factory. There is no excuse to send out a 4 piece product that has defects. I would rather have paid more for better quality and waited longer to receive it, even though we are still going through a Pandemic which is causing labor issues.

👤I bought this set as a gift and haven't used it myself. If they were my own, I would most definitely use them. They are very well made. The glass is smooth and stylish. They are easy to carry. It's the fact that they stack, saving space, which is very important when you have limited cabinet space.
