Best Baking Glass Pans for Oven Pyrex

👤The item is described as a baking dish. It is stamped 8x8. It is 6x6, as you can see from my photo. This is silly. Who bakes from the top of the dish? Nobody.

I will definitely not use it since it was so cheap.

I've never had anything explode in the oven or where I've been with glass bakeware. The instruction tells you not to thermally shock the glass, which is not a good idea for anyone over 10. People don't drink coffee out of glasses because of that. They need a handle that a mug offers. The pyrex could be used to make a sauce. The new pyrex isn't a big deal. If you remove your dish from the oven, it should go onto a dry cloth or cooling rack on your stove. Not onto a room temperature counter that will shock it or onto a pool of water on your counter that is room temp. I don't want to eat at your house if you don't add liquid to this dish before roasting meats, you should do that with all roasting meats. We owned our dish and it was dropped from the stove top on the second day we owned it. It did not break or crack. I've been using it for a while now and have no problems. It's not a sheet pan that you can abuse. Like Cast Iron cookware, glassware is similar. You have to know how to use it and take care of it.

👤I love the Pyrex brand and have several pieces of food storage ware, but this was my first piece of cookware. While I have a few casserole pans that are small enough to fit full sized noodles, they aren't large enough to fit full sized noodles. I had to add an extra step to cut the noodles in half. I was looking for a good quality large baking dish when it went down in price to 7 dollars. This was a steal, but it's worth the money even if it's only 20 dollars. I was looking for a Pyrex baking dish. It's a large size with 15 inches long, 10 inches wide and 2 inches deep. I was able to make a 6 layer lasagna and have enough depth for another layer or two. If you are feeding a crowd, this is the perfect baking dish to make casseroles, chicken parm, and other baked dishes. The risk of shattering glass bakeware is due to thermal shock, which occurs when the glass expands due to temperature change. Something is taught in high school. I'm not trying to be rude but it's easy to forget things you learned in high school chemistry. Pyrex glass is not impervious to thermal shock. There are two rules to follow. 1) If you want to place the bakeware on the counter, make sure the counter is not too cold and that the dish has reached room temperature. I remember my mother following those rules even after Pyrex changed their glass formula. I'm not saying you can't put it in the fridge or on the counter after it's out of the oven, but why would you want to put it in the oven? If it is properly handled and cared for, this Pyrex baking dish will be used to make large baked meals for years to come.

👤We purchased this set to use in our oven. Under "WARNINGS", the included "Safety and Usage Instructions" state that you should not use a toasting device. There is a The original pyrex formula was changed when the company was sold. Any use is forbidden if you read the instructions. There are many warnings and taboos. What is the point? I'm not sure what we're going to do with our mini pyrex, it's pretty much unsafe to use for all the reasons you would want to use it, according to the instructions.

👤Pyrex makes it easier for me to leave them behind. The dishes that I got are not durable and are broken after light contact with my kitchen floor. The larger one slid out and shattered because they don't stack well. I knocked Pyrex off my kitchen counter without incident. Less expensive products will be where I turn to. They are too delicate in a busy kitchen.

👤I was surprised that the larger dishes don't fix in the InstaPot Vortex Plus. The larger of the two would not fit in my Vortex and I had everything ready. I had to change my dish to a medium size and it worked. You can't use two dishes. The ad needs to state that only the small and medium dishes will fit.

👤There is not much to review. It's Pyrex glass so it can be used in the oven and microwave, which is a good size for an individual serving. I wish they would make the mini size with glass tops again. It used to be possible to order Pyrex or Anchor mini- or personal sized casserole dishes with glass tops. No more! Everything has a plastic top. The glass tops are great for the microwave. You can use one dish for a top and the other for a bottom by using these. It is better than anything else, but not quite like it used to be. The glass tops still come with the full sized casserole dishes.

The bottom sides and corners need to be more straight, it was a little awkward to scoop them out with a metal type spatula. The cover was disappointing. I made sure the dessert was below the upper edge of the pan when I finished because it should have been made to rise up off the pan. If the cover was more ridged it might have helped. I did not stack anything on top of this, so if you plan on stacking anything on this, don't. I measured the bottom corners from corner to corner, and it was closer to 8x12 The top has a corner to corner inside. Don't buy this if you need a true 9" x 13" It seems to be a quality product, but it needs to be adjusted a bit. I had a hard time trying to like this.

👤I've tried everything but removing the sticker from the glass on the baking dish. Amazon states that I cannot return the item. I will not purchase from the seller or recommend them to anyone.

👤I find this dish to be better than other materials for some dishes. The snap on lid makes it a real kitchen workhorse because of its ability to be microwaved, easily refrigerated, frozen, and transported. They are also able to nest. The height of the two stacked dishes is about 1.5 dishes. I've used it for cakes, bread pudding, salads, sweet potato pie, and casseroles. I like being able to see the leftovers from the side of the house. I've worked for years to perfect roast potatoes. I'd always used a thick roasting pan. I used this dish as a spare when I needed to cook for a large party. I didn't have high hopes but it was a great discovery. The potatoes were crispier in the pyrex dish than in the metal one. It will be my go to dish now. It would be even better if cast iron was even better. The only downside to roasting is that you can't put it on the stove. The dish does a good job of cleaning up, but it can benefit from a bit of scrubbing. I sometimes use a light wire wool, but I don't have a problem. They are harder to keep clean than a high end non stick. I think pyrex wins because of the fact that it's possible to use metal utensils on this dish. The biggest flaw is the lid. It comes down too much into the dish, meaning you can't put the lid on when the dish is full. This line of dishes would be perfect if the lid was more like a Tupperware lid.

👤I had to buy another pyrex baking dish because I love it so much. This dish is in use all the time so when I grab it again it will either be in the dishwasher or held for leftovers. I needed more than one. This one is different from others in that it has a blue lid and the rest is exactly what you would expect from this brand. It cooks well and the lid is easy to remove. The cover of this Pyrex product is poorly crafted, so don't buy it, even if you're not sure what happened here. 👤For those who didn't know. Pyrex changed its formula to save money. The original recipe for Pyrex bakeware is capitol P. This is the one that can take a sudden change in temperature. The newer formula of Pyrex is called the small p. It shocked a lot of those garage chemists who make illegal stuff that they need that change in temp to make their product. The cups exploded in their faces. If you want the good stuff, look for the name Pyrex. Not a pyrex. They hid it in plain sight.

This is a knock off Pyrex that can't handle the heat of an oven. You could be seriously injured if you buy this item.
