Best Baking Glass with Lid

👤I had to return it. I tried this casserole because I was looking for a casserole that wouldn't be affected by high oven heat. When I went to open it after taking it out of the oven, I didn't realize there was no knob or handle at the top. I had to use a butter knife to remove the top from the body. Try it with oven gloves. It's ridiculously dangerous.

👤This product was made in the Czech Republic and I love it. The price point is cheaper than other glass cloches. I put the sourdough in the top piece and slashed it, then turned it into a 450F oven. It was easy to take the hot lid off because the larger piece has bigger handles than the smaller one, and it was fun to watch it rise and brown. I will line the bottom with paper next time because it stuck even though I put it on a bed of semolina. This will be great to use as a large casserole or roasting pan for a small turkey. I think it will look great on my dinner table. I am looking forward to getting more products from Simax in the future, as they make great glass products that can be used in many different ways.

👤Even though it is marketed for it, this is the best value for the dollar bread dutch oven. If you can mix and ferment bread then you can make breads that are even better. I am a pro baker just a guy with a new hobby, but I understand tools of the trade and this is a mandatory tool in my book. Some people complain about the lid being hard to get off, but they make the ears a little long so it's not an issue. If you don't learn how to use the tool first, it will break from thermal shock. If you're new to sour dough and don't have a lot to invest, this should be your first tool. This will get you pro results in your home, everything else can be done by hand. I have worked with lab grade glass before and they know their way around it, I have used some of their lab glass on other products and never had any issues. I have never had sticking issues. Before I drop the loaf on, I dust the bottom with flour. When the dough hits the oven, preheat it so it's already hot. Hope this answers any questions. The product is great!

👤I really wanted to love this. I've been looking for a large casserole dish with a lid for a long time, and I was happy to find it. The set up of the lid handles against the dish handles makes it a nightmare. They line up perfectly, right? There is no gap between them. To lift the hot glass lid, I have to pry a butter knife between the lid handles and the dish handles, and then try not to have it slide off, burn me, and/or break. All while avoiding the steam which comes out. I thought I would get used to it and figure out a better way, but it isn't. I wish I had returned the stupid thing when I realized how much it hurt to take the lid off. I'm stuck with the return window closed.

👤This product has been discontinued after a long call with Anchor Hocking. They mentioned that it was counterfeit because it was not an authorized distributor. I couldn't figure out why things were getting old after using mine for a while. The lid wasn't always locked on. I noticed that the non-handle sides were bowed in. One side was really bad and the other somewhat. The handles are pushed out a bit, not being straight. I'll update this after talking to Anchor. Purchase Pyrex inSTEAD!

I am speechless because they just arrived. What a great deal for less than the cost. Pyrex costs $42 for 2. I saved myself about $25 because I paid $8.50 each for these. I don't know how you could beat this. Airtight lids! I will bake a caserole if I use one. From the oven to the fridge. Can't beat it! It would be a great wedding present idea.

👤This is my favorite baking dish for brownies and cornbread. Every time my food comes out perfect, I don't know what is different about this glass. The sloped sides make it easy to remove baked items.

👤The product is what is advertised. It cleans up easily. The problem was with the packaging. There was nothing else in the box. There was no tissue paper around the dish. It was moving around inside the box. The product arrived safely and in one piece, but it was odd to open the box and see no packing material to keep the glass dish secure. Someone handling the package might have been injured if it had broken.

👤The lid isn't snug around the dish. You can put your finger in the dish. The glass top is not perfect. It rocks when placed on a flat surface. It slides on the dish. It does not have the same type of seal as other years-old bakeware. There are a few cuts outside of the glass bottom that you can feel with your fingers. I worry that this is a viable bakeware item. Others said that their item exploded. I will return this item as I am not looking forward to that type of lost or clean up. I'm not happy with the quality of this item. It was made in the USA.

I usually eat them all, that's the only negative.

I found this on Amazon. It does the trick despite being bigger than we needed. If it was a little smaller, I would be happy. I'm pretty sure it would fit two organic roasted/rotisserie chickens because of it's length. There wouldn't be enough room around it to cook, so it might be better to store it in the fridge. I did some research and found out that the Pyrex today is not the one your grandma used. They started using soda-lime glass after 1998. I have never tried to take Pyrex from the freezer to the oven. I don't want to think about what could've happened. I chose this pan because it's made with high quality glass. I've put this pan to the test to see if it's any good. I took it from the freezer to the oven, from the microwave to the oven, and from the oven to a wet countertop. It passed all of the tests with flying colors. The glass dish is sturdy and well made. The glass is thicker than my other dishes. The food stays warm when out of the oven. The handles go down the entire pan, instead of just a 3 or 4 inch one. It's easier to get in and out of the fridge. It cleans up well in the dishwasher. I'll definitely be ordering more since I'm replacing my Pyrex dishes.

👤I think there are false advertising claims in this description. I wish I had looked at other people's pictures. Please do so now if you haven't done so before. One person has a picture of the back of the insert. It's safe to take it from the freezer to the oven, but the product tells you to avoid extreme temperature changes. It's likely that it's not borosilicate glass, which would be able to handle a shift from the freezer to the oven. They advise you to place something underneath the dish when you take it out of the oven, so that it doesn't come into contact with a cold countertop that would cause it to shatter. I bought this because of my safety concerns and I'm disappointed that it's not borosilicate glass. I'm not returning it because I need it to cook dinner tonight, but I won't be using it after that, and I don't want to forget that this isn't a safe dish.

👤The old pyrex 9 x 13 pan was scratched. I was used to the borosilicate glass and decided to keep it. The pan is a bit deeper than the pyrex I had. The width is the same. The thickness of the glass is thinner than my previous pyrex. I've used this pan three times and it's been great, cooking chicken legs at 450 degrees. I am careful not to put it on a cold surface when I take it out of the oven and it cools before being washed. The largest is what I go to. Nothing sticks to them. It's hard to sit in water to wash.

👤All of the dishes had air bubbles in them and small divots from where I am assuming air bubbles formed by the surface of the dish. Glass dishes can explode with air bubbles. The seller gave me a full refund, however I would have preferred to have the dishes. They could have recycled them instead of having quality control at the factory. There is no excuse to send out a 4 piece product that has defects. I would rather have paid more for better quality and waited longer to receive it, even though we are still going through a Pandemic which is causing labor issues.

👤I bought this set as a gift and haven't used it myself. If they were my own, I would most definitely use them. They are very well made. The glass is smooth and stylish. They are easy to carry. It's the fact that they stack, saving space, which is very important when you have limited cabinet space.

👤I used 5 months to write this review. They have good quality glass at a reasonable price. They are made in the USA. These are really good value for money. I highly recommend. Their packing is the worst. My pan was damaged because of the packaging. It wasn't that big and sharp. I did not return it. Yes. If they want to survive in the competitive Industry, they need to improve their packing. I would have rated it 5 stars. I am giving 4 stars because of that bad packaging. It's a good experience apart from that.

👤My wife has a number of glass baking dishes, but didn't have this size. I'm typing for her while she makes a cookbook for our children and grandchildren. I knew she didn't have a large dish when I noticed many of the recipes called for one. I asked her about it and she said she just changes the recipes to match the dish she was using. I ordered her one that was this size. I think she uses this one more than the others. It's not better than the others, but it allows her to stop adjusting the recipes.
