Best Baking Gloves for Mixing

👤These are not nitrile gloves. They are advertised as a blend. These are not worth much. The kitchen staff wear purple only. These are a colored version of a vinyl glove that breaks easily. Total waste of money! I have been a nurse for over 20 years. These are not very high quality.

In the middle of a Pandemic where people might be relying on the gloves to protect themselves, it is misleading to advertise these gloves as medical grade. A grade of F.

The box was partially crushed with packing tape placed on the two ends of the box and on one end of the top. The box is overstuffed and 888-270-6611 I will be returning these and looking for gloves that are similar to what I had before.

I think they were melting. They seem easy to clean, but since they are in the trash that doesn't make up for the lack of function, this company is contacting me to remove my review. Please stop. I said what I said in the original review. I hope you would improve your product rather than harassing people who give honest feedback.

👤Absolutely love this set! The gray is a great medium tone, and I love the different things that come with it. I use the pot holders all the time and have washed them in the dishwasher. My hands don't burn when I'm in the kitchen or taking hot stuff out of the oven. I like the fact that the oven mitts come up my arms, I tend to burn myself but haven't found these yet. I shared this with my sister in law.

👤This set of potholders, hot pads, and oven mitts is perfect. I'm very happy with the purchase. The extra-long mitts are great for when you have to reach deep into the oven and also when you're grilling. The tape pads are great for protecting tables. The little finger mitts are easy to use. The set in pink was stained by a tomato-based sauce and I made a mistake ordering it in pink. It's something I hadn't thought about, but hopefully it will clean out. I usually buy darker colors where this isn't a problem. I highly recommend this set.

👤Good product. I'm 6'3 and 200 lbs. They are longer than average and allow you to reach in the oven without burning your arm. I use the little finger grips a lot. They are put under to help with gripping. It requires more washing but it improves gripping. They are bulky and take up the entire drawer. The trivet is good to use. No melting or other issues. The trivet protects the surface well and requires a little extra attention when cleaning.

👤I'm surprised by how much I enjoy this set of oven mitts. The old-fashioned quilted fabric style of oven mitts had gotten really dirty and burned through in spots so I decided to give this Silicon version a try. The big mitts are great for getting things out of the oven. The Silicon is very soft. You don't feel like things are going to slip, and they're easy to wash off. I like the small pincher style holders for smaller items like hot bowls, which are not as big as the big oven mitts, and for moving stuff around on the stove, which is not as big as the big oven mitts. I use the trivets a lot. I like that they're non-slip, and they're lightweight, so they're easy to move around in. I get nervous when the big hot pot is going to slide or tip off, but not with my small hard trivets. I cook a lot. I didn't know how much it would change my life to have a good set of mitts.

👤It's perfect, it covers the lower half of the forearm high enough to prevent oven rack burns but not so high on the arm that you feel like you're wearing a cast. The mitt's soft terry interior is the most comfortable and flexible I have ever encountered. The mitt is flexible enough to not strain your hands or fingers. They show a sense of where the edge of a pan is in your hands. Silicone strips on the exterior are super-effective. I was able to hold a sheet pan for 3 minutes without my hand getting hot. There are enough color options to suit most kitchens. The hanging loop is sewn to the middle of the glove, not along the side seam. The mitts can hang vertically. I've never used a better oven mitt. Hope they stand up to the test of time.

👤It's common to have one size fits all with oven mitts. I think they should make them in small/medium and large, since it's mostly women who use oven mitts, and most women's hands are small. That said? That's the only thing I don't like about these gloves. I feel very safe in them, even though they're a bit big for me. By safe. I'm one of those people who burns themselves if I forget to use a mitt or if the mitt doesn't protect me well enough. It takes me at least 3 to 5 seconds to grab whatever I am taking out of the oven and landing on my countertop, some of the gloves just don't hold up and I can feel my fingers getting hot. The mitts are great in that respect. I made my own muffins today. These gloves kept me safe. They're a mix of cotton and Silicone, and I like the color. Silicone and cotton are not strong enough, and the only cotton mitts that are strong are too fake. They are a perfect combination of soft and resilient. The only thing I would ask the manufacturer to change is make them available in large quantities. Other than that? I know my baking experience will be safer because of my mitts, I love them.

The material name of the gloves was printed on the box and I believe "made in China" was also printed on the box, the glove boxes were a bit strange and off-putting, and nothing like the usual Green Direct boxes I've received for years. They looked like knock-offs and I didn't feel comfortable using them, so I sent them back to Amazon. I'm not sure if I'll give Green Direct another chance because I feel like my trust in them has been put into question. I would like to know what happened.

We don't get sick on a regular basis, but to improve upon my track record of never having been poisoned. These gloves are easy to put on, they aren't stretchy like latex gloves, and more like those used by people behind the counter at a deli or Subway. Depending on what kind of food you're handling, a box of 500 will go along way. You can change them to handle veggies after handling meat. The box opens like a box of tissue so you can pull out what you need and fit it in both your hands. Unlike latex or nitrile gloves, this one is much easier to take off than it is to sweat in. They are clear and odorless. I put them in a big bag because I had to take mine out of the box. If you are interested in food safety, you need gloves like these and be familiar with safe food handling practices. Getting these should be the first step.

👤It's great for cleaning the grill and turning food over. I pulled the grate out after pushing it a little higher than the recommended heat range. I was able to hold the grate for a while. The grate should be cool before being handled. I felt it. I did not get burned. The gloves can be washed with soap and water.

👤I was hoping the gloves would hold up in the heat of my smoker. Several pot holders have been killed by the smoke box, including some with the material on them. I was worried that these would take the heat since they looked like rubber and similar to the pot holders. I was wrong and I was able to pull the smoke box out. I was able to pull my pork shoulders from the smoker with ease. I'm very happy with the purchase, but I have one complaint about the inside material being white, which can get stained by alcohol, meat juices, and other things. The outside of these are easy to wash, put on, and dip in some sudsy water, and just clean them like you are washing your hands.

👤I noticed the stitching on the hanging loop had come undone after a few uses of the gloves. I am almost certain that it was a quality issue as I had never hung them up before. I contacted Geekhom via email with a picture of the glove and copy of my invoice and they told me another pair was on the way. A brand new pair showed up about a week later and I am very happy. I think the gloves are of good quality. I understand the stitching came undone, but for one, I'm not 100% certain I didn't cause the issue, and the new pair seems to be just fine. The silicone is less rigid than I expected and I feel as if I get better dexterity using them. The gloves are very comfortable and the lining is soft. I have a pair of Silicone gloves that are very rigid and hard to use, they have no lining so they feel sticky against my skin, and I have another pair of Silicone gloves that are very rigid and hard to use. I will not be using them anymore. The smokey smell was still attached to them after they were washed, so I would have had a "con" of that. I have to put it up to my nose to smell it, but it is still there. It's not a big deal to me. Would definitely recommend.

👤The old oven mitt set is no longer in use. I did. The old set was thin. The long and thick mitts provide great protection for my hands and arms. The silicone grip on the mitts is very nice. I can get a better grip on handles with a smooth surface than I can with a cloth mitt. Pot holders and towels are included in the set. They are useful to have around.

There is a I checked out what was available at a reasonable price and found these mitts. They are perfect. They can handle the hot pots and lids, which are usually in the 450 degree oven. They keep me from dropping the pot because of my flaming hands, and they are also safer because they have Silicone patterns all around the surface of the mitts, and that keeps a firm grip on handles. The best mitts I've ever owned are perfect for dealing with Corona-Bread-Baking joneses.

👤If you think you're buying these because of increased dexterity, you're wrong. They don't fit well, the fingers are large, and it's hard to pick up small items. I took my hand out and the lining came out. I put it back in, but I couldn't get it right again. The lining is bunched up in the tips of the fingers, and nothing I've tried has fixed it. The already bad dexterity is worse now. They work. If you need something to hold hot stuff, get it. Don't get your hopes up if you're expecting better dexterity. A little better, but not much.

👤I've never been able to use oven mittens because they're so large that my small hands can't get a good grip on the item I'm removing from the oven. I thought I was stuck with pot holders and burned on my knuckles. When I saw them for the first time, I was horrified. I could get both hands and at least one foot in each of them. I put one on and realized that the fingers and thumbs are just the right size, because the gloves are long enough to cover most of my forearms. I am told that the new thing that looks like it will melt at the sight of heat is heat resistant. I say "might as well try it" Wow! The pot holders fold so easily around the pot handles that you have complete control as you lift and pour, or throw them on the counter top for that hot dish to rest on. They are as clean as new if you rinse them under some warm water. Excellent product!

👤I am not sure if these are 100% steel. I believe that the company misrepresented the origin of the manufacturer. There is no indication of what material the bowls were made of. Every product I buy in a store has an inscription on it that says "stainless steel." I am not sure if they are made of the correct material, and I will not use them myself, even for food consumption.

👤I just received the shipment and examined the bowls, 5 out of 6 were in good condition but one was banged up so much that I was surprised it passed evaluation and was shipped out. For the price, I suppose this is acceptable, but it makes me feel bad about the whole experience and makes me not want to buy any more bowls. These are not stains that can be wiped off. They're either bumps or cuts through the shiny finish, or they're under the finish.

👤These are gorgeous! Photo doesn't do them justice. They are not the least bit flimsy. I like the large lip on the rim. Perfect gifts will be made by these. Not a single ding came from the carefully packed car. It would be nice if the quart size was stamped on the bottom of the bowl. Unless it is, I can't catch it. The size is easy to estimate, so it is not an issue. I didn't get these at a discount. I am sick of seeing those reviews.

👤Nice size bowls. The largest one is very large. I have only used it to mix 2 lbs of baked macaroni and cheese, with 6 cheeses, and it doesn't even get close to filling the bowl. I use it when I make cornbread dressing because I have to make 3 different versions, one for myself, my husband and our son, so it will come in handy when mixing the main ingredients. I only had it for a week or so and there are already marks on my favorite bowl. That is a bit disappointing. It's not a dealbreaker. 4.5 stars.

👤I work in a factory that makes carburetors. We are given a pair of work gloves to keep our hands safe from large metal splinters, but more often than not the smaller splinters will get through our work gloves which is why I needed some nitrile gloves to layer under them. These gloves are not up to the task, a good pair of nitrile gloves can last me about a day on the job, I am lucky to get these to last a second before they burst open, and I know for a fact they won't. I went through 5 pairs of gloves today, I think I'm going to have to layer 3 pairs just to make them last until lunch. Don't bother with them, they are waste of time and money.

👤Health Hazard: If you're buying these for use with POLY RESINS or OXYLAS, look away. These gloves are dangerous, they swell up with the contact of the resin and will rip with movement, my hands have been in constant contact with the material after going through an entire box of these. They are not durable and will be a risk to your health if you have skin contact with them.
