Best Baking Ingredients Kit

👤The item should be discounted due to expired ingredients. The kit is beautiful but should not include sauce and seasoning pack. The expired date is hidden by a sticker on the sauce. Don't use it if you're not sure if the flour is good. I will go to my local pizzeria to get some pizza dough. Buy at your own risk.

👤I decided to let the slime sit for a few days to see if that would help the consistency of the substance, but it reverted back to a life-like substance. I had to throw away the container I put it in because I couldn't get it back to its previous consistency. I had to scrub my hands three times. This mess should be avoided. I decided to try this kit because I am an adult and make good choices. I loved the metallic color of the food I tried. This product leaves a lot to be desired. The metallic glue/slime leaves a fine, glitter-like substance on your hands that seems to transfer onto everything you touch. I still have a lot of fairy dust on my palms after washing my hands. If you play for a long time, the slime becomes more skippable and needs time to rest. Which would be fine. You have to work with the slime to get it back to a consistency if it gets sticky again after sitting. The styrofoam pieces don't seem to want to stay in the slime. I am certain that all of the styrofoam pieces will work out. Can you make something with this kit? Yeah. It was just not great.

👤My son was very excited. He asked for every few hours for 3 days when it was supposed to arrive. We put our table up for slime after we got it. Put down a plastic table cloth, put on aprons, and open the box to find that someone else had bought it. A person who uses almost all of a product returns it. Amazon should be checking their returns and not just shipping them back out to people, as well as who sends the slime they made back to the store. This is unsanitary during a Pandemic. I am very unhappy with this. My boy has another 3 days to wait because Amazon has agreed to give him a new kit at no charge.

👤It was simply amazing fluffy slime. I was unsure if I was using the exact portions of the game because my kids and I have played multiple times with it but never actually do it. I used all of the blue glitter glue and the fluffy activator, but I didn't add as much as I would have liked. The half of the fluffy slime is shown in my pics. It is fun for the kids and relaxing for the adults. I am very happy with this stuff. I don't know if I want to go back to regular slime.

👤This is a good set for children. My kids were able to make a lot of slime. If each of them got half a bottle of each type of glue, that would be a whole lot. I would recommend getting other glue varieties from the same brand and maybe more activator. The instructions weren't the most accurate when it came to determining the proper ratio of glue and activator. Since we made slime from glue, contact solution, and baking soda, we ended up just touching. I would recommend.

👤The scale does not weight anything under 3 grams, but it does in the description. Once you are over 3 grams, it will weigh in one gram. If you hit tare on the dish, it will weight items under 3 grams. I put a bowl on it and hit the tare to make it 0, then I went from there. Give it a few seconds to register the weight of the item because it is very sensitive to movement.

👤I like the scale. cheap plastic ones are good I wanted to get something more accurate for sourdough making. It has a tare feature. Simply put, whatever container you are measuring into, place it on the scale first. "tare" is out of the scale. You are measuring your items, not the bowl. You don't have to do the math to figure out the true weight of your contents with this method. The scale reads '0' after the Tare button is touched in the picture. It can be set to grams or ounces. I don't want to have to guess grams or ounces when I see a European recipe online. I don't have to. The scale can be used to measure from 0.1oz to 22 lbs. Not bad! This scale is perfect for the home chef.

👤Nicewell Customer Support contacted me and arranged to send me a new scale after my previous review of this scale. The batteries seem to work better so far than the brand GP. The company's customer service is excellent. I would recommend you to try this scale. A soft touch of the ON/OFF button makes it turn on or off. The scale has a sleek design and is very light. The numbers are easy to see at night and day. I like the fact that most parts are made of wood, something I try to avoid as much as possible. I received my new scale a few days ago. It had two new GP batteries. The numbers kept changing when I used it. I got different results with every object I weighed. The results were off by a lot when I compared them with another scale. I thought my scale was malfunctioning. I replaced the GP batteries with Energizer batteries. Problem solved. Reliable batteries can save your day.

👤This is a scale that I love. It is replacing a unit that is very similar. The thing has a few small differences that add up to a nicer user experience. I like the back-lit display. If I had a large pot or bottle on the scale, the shadow caused by larger vessels would sometimes make the readout hard to see. My old unit used a big watch style battery, this one uses ubiquitousAAA batteries. It's much more convenient to replace when needed. My old scale only went up to 11 lbs, but this thing doubles that. If I'm making a large amount of something, I don't have to measure out half of it in one vessel and the other half in another. If I want, I can mix everything in one vessel.

👤The reviews and videos of the food processor were great when I was researching, but when I used it as I wanted, it did not retain any splash, I am not sure if I got that. My other two units that I used for years did not have a seal and did not have the leak spilling problem.

👤My food processor was too small for some of my recipes. The reviews seemed to agree with the bill. It was a major disappointment. When it is used full it will overflow through the middle area. The on/off switch won't turn after 1 year. My 30 year old Black and Decker had to be pulled out of the middle of a recipe.

👤The plastic pieces broke after several years when I tried to replace a Cuisinart. I thought I would save money, and after reading the reviews on Hamilton Beach, I thought it was worth a try. I was wrong. This is the worst food processor I have ever used. Yes, it has two speeds, Fast and Super Human, but they don't work when you are trying to grade cheese. Everything will be butchered and not the way I wanted it, because it came with only one blade. I replaced a good quality product with a piece of garbage in order to make my wife mad. Don't purchase this item if you love your wife. Even though Amazon usually has a 60 day return policy, the return button is missing, so it's even worse.

👤Our previous processor was less than 3 cup. This one is very similar to the Dark Ages. It has done everything well so far. It was used to make the dough of 2 pumpkin pies. Do not Over Process - keep your finger on the pulse button, that's what I have learned. The pies turned out perfect with the correct amount of processing time. The pulse and selection are too fast. The caveat in processing time would have been better if the availability of a slower speed for making dough was available. There is a slight problem with the slicer. It slices fairly well, but it slices in different ways towards the last part of the item. It's not that great for presentation purposes. I thought I'd point that out. A good value for a good processor. Will report back if there are any problems. So far, so good.

👤Even though it says it is a 10 cup bowl, you can't fill it over the level of the blades without it leaking. The lid has no seal so any liquid that reaches it will come out. I called Hamilton Beach and they said that even though this isn't specified on the box or advertizing, it is in the booklet that comes with it. The bowl scraper that I thought would be a useful feature only comes to the top of the blades, so if you can only fill it to there, it is useless. They wouldn't do an exchange or a refund, and recommended I buy another product. That won't be happening.

👤These are nice quality and can hold a lot of food. The picture shown makes them appear to be clear plastic, but it is not as clear as the photo. That makes sense. It is not clear if the plastic is clear or white. I am just being picky and they are fine. The quality is great and they work for what I need.

The containers are of a higher quality than others and the price is more affordable. I like the fact that the lid handles are made of plastic and that they are easy to stack on top of each other. The locking mechanism works well and is not difficult to open. The pen, chalkboard, and measuring spoon set are great additions to the set. Everything you might need for organization has been provided. The sizes of the containers are perfect for my needs. I like the fact that the company contacts you by email after purchase to make sure you're happy, and I feel like these are going to hold up well over time and serve as great staple pieces in my pantry. I would definitely buy this again, and am already thinking about ordering more to make my pantry even more organized.

👤I would give this a zero rating. They had more good reviews than bad. I should have listened to the reviewers that were bad. I was excited to use these after cleaning my pantry. These are all small containers. There is a photo of Pasta in ContatIner. I don't know how to get the lid on without breaking the pasta. I'm out $45 because they can't be returned. They smell and are hard to close. I think that's the reason they have a no return policy. My husband told me to make sure that I return it before I buy it. You can get some from the dollar store for less.

There is a place on the home page of the company to send messages. They welcome your comments and their contact info is right there, no digging through pages or searching for it. Many companies could learn from their customer service. I highly recommend their products.

👤After my favorite bakery closed, I became interested in learning to bake at home. I tried to wing it my first few times, but I could figure it out. I decided that having a bit of specialized equipment couldn't hurt, even though they worked. This set has helped me with my consistency. The circles make it easier for me to get them the right size every time, the piping bags/tips are handy and sturdier than just clipping a corner off a ziploc bag, and overall my results end up looking more like I know what I'm doing. I would like a slightly larger round tip, but it's not that bad. It's a good value if you want to try baking these little guys more than once. I realized that I missed the size 12 tip when I made another batches. I had a slightly larger tip that I wanted in the review. I thought it did help.

I roll it up with the bonus silicone storage snap band and keep it there. A must have for bakers. I will buy a gift for my friend.

👤Wow! This product has saved my life. I had no pest problem before the storm. I had a lot of ants in my house after the flood waters subsided. They were in everything. I searched the internet for something that would keep my pantry items out. I ordered them on the spot after finding them with great reviews. I called a pest control service and scheduled an appointment to have them come spray my house while I waited for them. These arrived. I put my new sugars and spices in the containers. I had some ice cream and put my bowl in the sink. I woke up to a lot of ants. I was in full panic because our pest control guy wasn't coming until the next day. I couldn't believe I was so stupid. I cleaned my counter again. Everything in my cabinets was untouched when I opened them. The ants did not approach the cabinet. They couldn't smell the sugar. The containers are life saving. If we have flood waters again, I'm no longer worried. They are very easy to use. I am so thankful for the amazing product made by OXO.

👤I bought these about a month ago to organize my pantry. They look nice and seem to be sturdy, but they are advertised as being air tight. The sugar formed into a brick and the cereals were not fresh after a couple weeks. The freshness of sugar and cereals in their original opened bags is more important than the freshness of these containers. You would expect these to work for $100. The seal is so weak that I can easily pull the lid off after pressing the button. It looks like it might be a fairly common occurrence, but I think mine are malfunctioning.

👤If you grab them from the top of the container, the lid will come off. The old style of containers have a rounded lid. Your food will become old.

👤It was arrived in a timely manner. Storage containers from OXO are great. The seal works well and protects items. The container size of the brown sugar is the biggest issue with this set. I don't know what bags of brown sugar they are putting in there, but the ones available in my area barely fit, leaving no room or space for the clay piece to keep the brown sugar moist and not hardened. The container should have been half the size of the containers. It should have been like the 2 quart size. This set would have been perfect if not for that.

👤I bought these thinking they were natural, but after reading someone else's review, I realize they are not. I'm not sure how they can put 100% natural on the label. I could have bought the coloring at the store and gotten a better result. I used it to color the cake batter. The package doesn't say not to use in baking. The batter was vibrant and beautiful when I mixed it with the colors. The cake layers were baked in the oven. By the time the layers were done cooking, the colors were gone. The emerald green layer looked like a fuzzy mold. I don't recommend buying these. I will never do that again. They are not natural.

👤I have tried many natural food dyes to accommodate my customers. I liked these because they are less expensive than other brands and the colors work great in natural dyes. These are not made with 100% natural vegetable juices and spices as the package claims. I was really disappointed after reading the ingredients and realizing they still contain chemicals I was trying to avoid. I really wanted to like these.

👤The red coloring has sugar in it. My son has a very restricted diet and he cannot have sugar. He was excited to be able to make things red. The green was so thick it wouldn't drain out of the tube and the lid popped off, dumping half of the bottle into the frosting I was making. The colors are lovely and I appreciate having a natural alternative. I wish I'd read the ingredients before ordering. This is not what I was hoping for. If you buy them, be aware of the viscosity and remove the lid if they get thick.

👤Other reviewers have noted that the red comes out more purple. The blue and green are lovely shades of calm. I had an issue with one bottle being blocked with a strand but it was removed and the bottle worked fine. If you don't expect these to be like artificial dyes, you'll enjoy them. I used them to color. I tried to combine yellow and red to make orange, but ended up with brown. After sitting in the fridge overnight, that became muddy yellow. Not sure if you could make orange with this set. I made a purple with red and blue.

👤I needed a small bottle to get a green color in the dough for my Christmas cookies, but I bought this to make them. I baked the first batches and low and behold the cookies are pale in color and the kids like them, but the rest had to be decorated with red and green sprinkles. I have never had a problem with the products I have bought before. I think it's a good idea to say on the label that it's all natural and juices and veg are used in the manufacture, but if it's not going to hold a color in baking I think it's a bad idea.

They apologized and sent out a new box, which arrived two days later. I'm not sure if the price of the box is in line with the cost of ingredients, but the kit was fun for the kid, and he enjoyed it. It was a little steep to make six cupcakes.

In order from the best to the worst, my preference was 1. Judee's Heavy Cream Powder has a mild sweet taste. Anthony's Heavy Cream Powder has a grassy cow-y taste that I am not a fan of, even if it is more natural. The taste of the farm is less pronounced when you mix powdered milk with it. If I hadn't tried Judee's, I'd probably settle for this one, but since Judee's is better, I dumped it. 3. If you've ever had dessert from a restaurant that was stored too long in a display case so the cream picked up that distinctive smell that your own fridge doesn't have, WillPowder Heavy Cream Powder is for you. I thought after it was mixed and settled, it would go away, but it didn't. The taste is not as good as the texture would suggest. I dumped it. 4. The taste of Hoosier Hill Farm Heavy Cream Powder was unpleasant. Cream is nothing like anything else. I like other Hoosier Hill Farm products. Dumped it.

👤It's 10:30 pm on a Friday night and there is a severe thunderstorm warning and you realize that you're out of half-and-half for your coffee in the morning because of course you are. Do you wake up early on a Saturday morning to get dressed, put on a little bit of makeup so as not to scare anyone, and then try to decide whether or not to wear a slipper in public, or if you can find socks, running shoes and sunglasses at the grocery store? No. You do not. You have already purchased the heavy cream on the lightning deal and it is sitting in the kitchen. You mix it up with warm water and a fork and then put it in the fridge, just like the reviewers suggested. Saturday morning coffee was preserved. There is a lifelong kitchen secret.

👤Finally! After reading reviews and experimenting with mixing powdered cream with cold, cool, ice and hot water, I am happy! I made 2 cups of cream. After letting my boiled water cool after a couple of minutes, I poured a little water into the pitcher and continued with adding a bit more until the water was incorporated into the powder. I could see how the hot water was mixing with the powder, but I didn't use a spoon or fork to mix it. The key was to let the water bloom in the powder and not mix it right away. I used to blend the mixture with my blender. I used cold, cool and ice water to mix and there were no clumps. I used the immersion blender to mix with cold water. The taste was different. I will order more now that I know how to mix it. You can see what it looks like with the photo I added. It looks heavy cream.
