When we had a small amount of flour in the bowl, the mixer wouldn't mix at all. We ran into the same problem when we tried other soft ingredients. The attachment pieces would get stuck if I didn't manually lift the mixer. The attachment pieces are very flimsy, which I was surprised about, but understand the safety concerns. There are videos online that show the mixer mixing up flour and egg. It was disappointing to have to return it already.

👤My toddler loves this! It can make batter, whip cream, scramble an egg. It is surprisingly safe. If you put your hand in the way of the paddle or crank on top it will stop as it seems to have a built in clutch to override. It doesn't strip the motor. This was one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Not even the smallest batter can be mixed in this. The batter barely moved. The mixer slid around when it was difficult to turn the handle. My child would not be able to do this with any success. The bottom was still dry even when it barely mixed the top layer. The recipe book states that it has to be turned manually. If you ask me, that defeats the purpose. I will send this back immediately. It doesn't work as it should.

He was so excited about his mixer that he spent the entire day carrying it around and pretending to turn it on too high. When we made something together, the flour flew out of the top. On the first day we had it, his cousin stepped on one of the whisks and broke a piece of it. When I contacted the company, they were so kind and sent us 2 replacement whisks free of charge, and did not charge us shipping when it came from England. My child still uses his mixer every day.

👤My 6 year old loves playing restaurant and I bought this for him. When I ordered them, I didn't know they use magnets. I pulled the magnets out of most of the pieces after I opened the box. If you have an infant or toddler around, this is very dangerous. I didn't notice the magnets were falling out until I saw one on the ground. My 1 year old got to them before I found them. I'm going to remove the rest of the magnets so he can still use them. If it weren't for the magnets, I would give this 5 stars.

👤This comes with a crate, cutting board, knife and peeler. That sets it apart from other sets on the market. The food is small but still good for my two year old to play with. The food comes apart very easily because the magnets are weak. My 2 year old is good for it, but my 4 year old prefers the sets with the Velcro because they are harder to cut. I would keep the child's age in mind when buying this. This set is great for our toddler and has all the extras.

👤It's hard for kids to understand. The issue needs to be dressed. The magnets were not put into the toys. They fall out and pose a serious risk to kids. These toys should be recalled.

👤Being a busy mom, I don't usually take the time to write reviews. I needed to write a review for this product. The wooden knife handle detached from the blade within two minutes of my son opening it on Christmas morning, but the small magnets holding the fruit together began to fall out. I found this extremely dangerous as I have a child who still puts things in his mouth and could have easily swallowed the small magnets without us knowing. My son was disappointed he couldn't play with it, so we are buying another set that uses a different type of material.

👤I am angry with this toy company because my daughter was so happy when she saw this toy, but as soon as she started to play with it, 2 magnets fell from the strawberry. It's really weird. The toy is supposed to be safe for a toddler. She didn't put them in her mouth because I was there. I will be glueing the Velcro instead of removing the magnets. I can not take the risk of other magnets falling off.

👤My granddaughter loves to mimic us in the kitchen so she was delighted to get this mixer. The idea is cute, but the quality is not acceptable for a child's toy. The mixer "head" is attached to the base with nothing more than hard plastic "buttons" which break easily. There is no way to re-attach the head portion of the toy. I will not buy any Learning Resource toys in the future because of the poor quality and the fact that I will be charged for shipping when I return them.

👤I like the line of kitchen toys. The mixer is cute. I like the quality of the plastic. My kids love playing with it and mixing their other play foods. I like that it is not loud. The handle that turns the mixer comes off easily, but it reveals a metal piece. It's not very sharp but not very safe. My 2-year-old knows how to take the handle off and won't leave it alone. I will probably have to glue it down. It's a big oversight on the part of the manufacturer if mine is not faulty.

They are similar to the other brand's berries, but can be crushed under a shoe. The plastic cup fell twice because of the cracked plastic. It isn't very durable. The thickness of the plastic from other cups and plates is different. Overall, okay, but could be better.

👤My nephew just got a kitchen set for christmas and I bought this for him. I noticed that the waffle maker was not shutting down when I was playing with him the next day. The package is open in the box and there is no way to tell if it is broken. It was too late to return it because he had already opened it. Since the waffle maker will not close, the toy is meant to make the kids pretend they are cooking waffles in the maker. So disappointed.

I think it's a knock off. The cookie tray is not raised like the original one. The utensils are not the same. The first one we bought was red wooden. 👤I have bought 3 of these sets so far. They are very cool. They all fit into a cardboard cookie tube. That is easy for storage. You get a plate that has a mechanism to keep cookies on it. How cool is that? You put frosting and topping on the cookie. It is very cute. The kids take the cookies out of the oven. They can serve cookies with the play server. It's fun. The cookies are not all tumbling over the floor when the kids walk around to offer you a cookie. I love this set. I love this set. I like this set. It's one of my favorite M & D products. If you want the tray to fit inside the oven, be sure to measure the oven size first so you know it will fit. It fits most of the toys.

👤I have always loved the brand and this item was no different. The cookie set was at my daughters daycare. She was always playing with it when I picked her up. My daughter is three years old and loves playing with this item. She is using a kitchen mitt and spatula to get the cookies off the cookie sheet. My daughter likes taking the cookies out of the container and putting them on a cookie sheet, so it's good for her to practice counting them. She gives us cookies and lets us choose which ones we like the most. She is interested in helping me bake because she is playing with this item. The amount of accessories: a spatula, oven mitt, and container to hold, and a tray with cookies on it. I am not sure how long it will last because one of the pieces on the cookie sheet started coming off because my daughter was putting them on and taking them off constantly. I used super glue and have not had any problems yet, but it's a little disappointing since I have only had a short amount of time. I highly recommend this item. It keeps my daughter entertained for hours at a time. She likes to count the cookies as she is playing with them and she is interested in helping her mom cook.

👤I am an occupational therapist and this is my favorite toy. I use it with kids from 18 months to 2 years old. This toy can be used to develop fine motor skills, following directions, taking turns, sharing, grip strength, sorting, counting, naming, and more. The list continues. It's easy to sanatize between kids and is the most requested toy in therapy. Each of my nieces and nephews have a set, and it is my go to for any child's birthday party that I attend. I like the birthday cake, pizza and fruit, but I don't like the cookies as much.

👤I never had a play kitchen when I was a child, but now I'm an expert on all things "play-kitchen" as an adult. I mentioned in my review that I've seen a lot of pink sets and ceramic ones that are not very realistic. I just wanted a nice set. The multi-colored dishes in the dish set is something I can't get enough of, so this set is perfect for me. This set is very similar to the Step 2 one. The utensils, plates and cups are larger than the Step 2 version but they fit in our kitchen. See the comparison pictures. The two people are on the left and on the right. The cookie sheet is small and flimsy, but it looks good in the oven, and you're not going to fit a dozen cookies on it. I don't think any kid will notice. If you have the Ikea spatulas, they will blend in. The oven mitt, kitchen timer, olive oil bottle, and salt/pepper shakers are my favorites. The price of this set is almost double that of the Step2 set, but with the inclusion of the timer, salt/pepper and olive oil it is slightly nicer. You can't go wrong with either set. Food is not included in the one product picture. It's in small print on the front of the box which I didn't see when I ordered. I was a little disappointed that it didn't include chicken leg and mac n cheese, but it's not like we needed any more play food. Learning Resources play food. I paid the full price for this item. 👤I'm happy with this set. The ikea duktig utensils are compared in the picture. I prefer this spatula because it is wider and has a bend. It's easier for my 2 year old to flip cakes. The spoon is the same size and quality. My daughter likes the pepper and salt. The pot and pan are good. They are plastic and I prefer the ikea steel which makes less noise. The lids can be changed. This set has a good variety of items and is a great value. It's a great choice for a new play kitchen setup. Brand play food with learning resources.

👤The set I received was very good, but not the one pictured. The box was opened and the items inside were not close to what was advertised or depicted on the package. I kept it because it was used in a classroom and arrived before school started. I was disappointed that I didn't get the set I ordered. I received two small pots, a pan, two utensils and a mitt. I tried to review the item based on my experience, but it was rejected. I don't know how a customer could write a review without mentioning the packaging, labeling or misrepresentation. I think someone returned an item they didn't want. I tried to attach pictures to show how different the set was from what was ordered and how it lacked a better part of half the 22 advertised parts.

👤The item should be discounted due to expired ingredients. The kit is beautiful but should not include sauce and seasoning pack. The expired date is hidden by a sticker on the sauce. Don't use it if you're not sure if the flour is good. I will go to my local pizzeria to get some pizza dough. Buy at your own risk.
