Best Baking Kit for Kids 3-5

👤I bought this for my 12 year old who likes to cook. It would be nice for her to have her own set of knives, so I could be reassured that she's not using real knives when cutting. The set is a joke. Do they think kids can use this product? The plastic knives are incapable of cutting five of the 15 recipes. I had my kids in the kitchen trying to cut cucumbers with the knives, but they couldn't because they were too liquefying. It's not pretty. The best way to cut through soft foods is with a knife. Don't waste your money. You can get the recipes for free online.

👤It would be a real set with the Master Chef name on it. The plastic knives couldn't cut anything except room temperature butter. The cutting board was so thin that it slid around. My 11 year old knows how to cut with a real knife and was quite disappointed that they weren't a set of real knives for juniors. It wouldn't be a good idea to recommend this to anyone unless you have a young child.

👤I was surprised that they were plastic when we busted them open, I got them as a Cyber Monday deal and did not really look into it. My 6 year old loves to help me in the kitchen, and my 2 year old loves to help her sister. Once you teach how to use a sawing/circular motion, these are not sharp, but have a nice serrated edge. I like these because I don't have to hold their hands like I do with a metal blade. My kids want to do it all by themselves, and this makes it a lot easier to worry about. I wanted something that would help me get started. We've cut onions and bell peppers, which gets the job done. Chicken was easy. I would recommend these for anyone who wants to start their children with something that won't hurt them.

👤You have to use a lot of pressure to make the knives usable. My granddaughter will use my knives and cutting board after I give her this gift. These aren't something she would want to own.

I'm not hopeful that any of the harder fruits and veggies would work better because these knives are too small for kids. I expected more from this product because it is based on a TV show where kids make some pretty complex dishes. I would have been better off buying a set of cut proof gloves.

When she wants to help me cut vegetables, the knives don't work very well. Very rigid cuts. She uses one of my knives. The set was nice, but not what I wanted.

I get to see her improve her skills in the kitchen, as well as see her smile and pride in her face, because I get to see her with me in our house.

👤It's going to have to be put in a different box or bag because the cute box won't come off nice, and the shipping labels won't come off, so it's going to have to be torn off. I wouldn't have bought it for my son if I'd known it was pink.

👤The cute chef set is a great value. A small child with room to grow. The strap and some accents are bright pink, not red as depicted in the photo. If buying for a boy who is sensitive about pink, it might be an issue. It wasn't a problem for us.

Each set comes with 3 paint brushes which are convenient. These aren't water colors. Don't use water. When you want to switch colors, wipe the brushes off with a paper towel. I did not try the stickers. I was pleasantly surprised by the activity. It was worth every penny. I would buy again. I am going to look for other painting sets by Doug andMelissa. We got some paint. I used a wet scrubby sponge to get it off. The glitter glue can be used to write names or designs. I helped with that part.

Most of the contents are ok for a 1.5-2y/o child, but you should know if your toddler is the type to play dress up. My daughter is the one who likes to wear an apron and chef hat, while my son is the one who doesn't. I got this for my daughter because she loves food. Not "like" but "literally". I don't have the time to explain what she has done to get her hands on a single Goldfish, but I do know that if you were on fire and had a bag of marshmallows nearby, she would sit and roast you. I don't want my baby girl to have a bad relationship with food. I thought it would be a good idea to put her in the kitchen and do some work around here. It's really amazing. I'm happy. The intent is to get her interested in preparing food, showing her that not all food comes from brightly colored bags and boxes, and ultimately helping to teach her to make healthy food choices. The apron has enough string length to fit her waist with room to spare if needed. The baker's hat is likely to fit most kids, even being a bit on the big side. I say this because it fits both of my kids heads, although a more snug fit on my daughter. Both of my children get their heads from their Daddy. I'm sure you all think that I'm exaggerating. They are both 99th percentiles. My daughter's head circumference is usually taken first by the nurse, and then by the doctor, who thinks it's a mistake if they measure it again once or twice. It will fit your kids. The other items are toddler sized. They are perfect for preparing pretend food, which is what we have not attempted to do. These can easily be weaponized. These are secretly instruments of toddler wars. Parental discretion is not advised. I feel the need to warn people not to touch the floor with the super tiny cookie cutter. They disappear or blend-in, and you will step on it with a bear or slipper foot, which will grant you the type of pain that will stay with you forever; labor and childbirth? Is it possible to put something to the head? Is it related to kidneys stones? Are Legos on the floor? Not even close. Who wants a cookie that's small? What are you? This comes with a little kids cookbook, which is one of the best things about it. There are some really cute ideas, like a kids "sushi" roll. I think all but one recipe does not require a stove oroven, and one or two uses the microwave. I liked that part the most because it reminded me of a book I had when I was a kid. It taught me how to make everything from scrambled eggs to pancakes, biscuits, and muffins in the microwave. It always tasted a bit off or horrible compared to the same thing cooked in the stove/oven. I wish I still had that book. There is a You should buy this for your child. They might form a coup and overthrow you if you let them keep the baking utensils.

This is the first time I have ever written a view that speaks volumes to me.

👤We love the Suncatchers. My grandsons were pleased with their work and had a great time doing them. The product says that it makes 20 projects. I was expecting more than 20 suncatchers. There are only 12 Suncatchers. After cleaning up, we realized that there is a small sheet of acetate that you can use to make peel and stick window art. The only projects that could be completed with the large sheet of acetate is 2 peel and stick. The sheet was thrown away. I would have been very disappointed if this project had been for more children. I was glad I didn't use it for a school class or birthday party as there would have been some very disappointed children. If this is what you are expecting, you will enjoy this product.

👤My daughter enjoys working on frames. Some holes are small and easy to overfill. Kids overfill the frames and they are very easy to forgive. When it was wet, I looked the best, but the kids' messier ones looked brighter and had more colour when they dried. The pink tube looks like a pink but don't judge it too soon, the glitter will show up when dried. I wish they had bigger tubes for the green and orange colors. The brighter colors are used more by kids. If you don't want to work on the suncatchers or have used them all up, it's easy to make more patterns with the clear sheet and templates. Draw a shape with black glue and let it dry. Once it is dried, your child can fill it and peel it off and stick it on a window. It goes a long way with a good price. It is enjoyable for both adults and children.

👤We bought two packs so we could give one to a friend. I did this as much as my daughter. It was a lot of fun. I wish the little squeeze bottle pens were better. The consistency of some of the paint colors was different so green and orange would come flooding out of the tube with one small push and it was hard to fill in small spots like the word "Peace" that disappeared in the paint. The excess paint has been proven to be incorrect. I can see the black borders of the window art because the paint melted in and dried perfectly the next morning. Attached is a picture! 👤I can't say if this kit is similar to others or not, because I have never made these before. It's probably. The "paint" is not paint. I don't know what it is. It is a weird colored liquid that fills in the plastic shapes provided. The colors on the box are POP. The colors in reality... You can't see them. The yellow and orange looked clear. You had to use a lot to get it to look pastel. The girls asked if they could do another project after they hated it. I don't think you should spend your money on this kit. The results were lackluster and the kids hated it. That makes it not worth anything to me.

👤I think this is a good set for baking with kids. We practice Montessori at home, and we were looking for a set up that would allow our 3 YO to cook a recipe from start to finish by herself. She can use the cake pan herself because it fits in the oven. The manufacturer should improve the recipe cards. The weakest link in the bundle is these cards. They reference the tools at the bundle, but they don't have an electric mixer. They are too complex for small kids to follow, with too many steps crammed onto a small card. The set needs simple recipes, reference only the tools provided, and pictures of the tools and ingredients to make it easy for kids to follow along. This may be too much to ask, but slightly healthier baking recipes would also be appreciated. The choice of utensils. The Silicone baking dish and cups are easy to clean. The wooden ones are cheap. I found a higher quality set on Amazon and am using them as a back up. The set could include an oven mitt. It's a good price, so I didn't mind buying an oven mitt to complete what we needed for baking. We had a lot of fun with it.
