Best Baking Kits for Kids Ages 4-8

👤The cooking set for kids is amazing. These are high quality cooking utensils. Not a toy like the ones we have bought for the kids. We are making healthy and delicious sneaky chef recipes.

👤I gave it to a neighbor's children. The Sneaky Chef's cooking and baking kit was just the activity my two girls needed to keep them busy during these stay at home orders. Dressing like chefs and using the enclosed tools that were clearly made for them was their favorite part. My seven year old was able to follow the recipes because they were simple. Everything we made tasted great. This will be our go-to activity for a long time.

👤The price went down to 19.99 after Christmas. I don't write bad reviews very often and I shop through Amazon all the time. The globes didn't look like the package pictures, and the figurines inside were so small that you couldn't figure out who they were.

👤Don't waste your money. My daughter found out that the globe wouldn't fit on 2 of the 3 water globes. She was very upset after she found out that the kit didn't work. She created a globe with all the characters inside. The funnel doesn't work. She had to feel the globe section with water. I hated that I had to pay for a kit that we couldn't use.

👤I bought this for my granddaughter, who was excited to try it. A bomb! The clay was very difficult to work with, and even after being warmed in our hands, it remained difficult to work with. Despite a lot of kneading, the colors stayed mostly separated despite the instructions. They were muddy where they did blend. There wasn't enough clay for three globes. We tried to fill the dome with water from the supplied funnel. The water pooled in the base and wouldn't go into the dome, even though we made a good path for it to enter. We figured out how to get some water in another way and it poured right back out. It was a frustrating experience. I think I threw my money away.

👤The older helped the younger with these. The project was finished well. I have a suggestion. We discarded the third globe because almost all the clay was used on two. Green clay is needed since you want the bottom to look like the sea. We used a lot of blue and yellow to make the sea beds. The funnel should have the same size neck, but a bigger bowl so it doesn't take so long to fill the globe with water.

👤I bought this for my children's craft session. The girl is 8 years old. The water is included in the kit. The size of the snow globes is correct. Adding details to the scenes was made easier by the clay. The children created elaborate scenes. The oldest child made a volcano. The 3 year old made colorful rocks out of clay. My granddaughter was making a scene for a movie. There was no mess. They provided a small funnel to help with adding water. I used bottled water to wash the children over the kitchen sink. I found that the snow had a tendency to stick to the clay if it was sprinkled over it before adding water. Adding water and sparkles to the clear section allowed the snow to fall better. We filled it up the rest of the way once it was assembled.

👤The dome can't fit on any of the boxes. No way. My husband couldn't do it because he was very mechanically inclined. I do crafts with our granddaughter, but I can't do it. My son couldn't do it. It was very disappointing to our granddaughter that it was a huge waste of money and time. Buy something else. The manufacturer told me that the'shallow side of the base' is where you put your clay. If you are doing this project and reading this review first, be sure to use the shallow side because the base will not fit.

👤The packaging was damaged when it arrived. I salvaged most of it so I could send it to my nephew for a Christmas gift and activity to complete with his mom. The company gave a discount for the damaged parcel after reaching out and sharing that the delivery is completed by Amazon. My nephew was already making pancakes when my sister reported that he loved it. Happy little man!

👤When I saw this one, I bought it. I have at least 5 other kits from them, and one is the deluxe chemistry set, which has more items than the standard set. The chemistry sets are both very good. The set has sharp edges and flexible plastic. Everything that is plastic is flexible. The quality is similar to the science toys found at dollar tree during the warmer seasons. What happened?

👤I like Learning Resource products but I don't like the Yuckology kit. I don't mind that extra supplies were needed to make the slime because I would need them to make homemade slime. The tools in the kit aren't made well. The mixer could not hold up to a four year old because the handle would come off when he tried to turn it, and the slime stand broke after two uses. 👤When I bought this product, I didn't read the fine print, but I was disappointed in what it lacked. I would have felt weird giving someone a gift that was incomplete. This is not a kit, it's just plastic molds with instructions for using household items to create the end result. This is an overpriced product.

👤I loved using this set with my young child. The recipes are easy to make, and the one we did first took 5 minutes to make. The items are easy to hold and maneuver and the ingredients are things I already had in the house. Kiddo liked eating something he made himself and I liked it because there was limited mess. This would be a great gift to give to a young child. It is a fun and different non-screen activity that involves mixing, measuring and freezing liquid to solid. Highly recommended!

👤Our three year old daughter is very interested in any type of science experiment, and she loves the spa science program at Gabby's Dollhouse. She got this set for Christmas and loves it. She does so many different things with it, she loves putting bath bombs in the beakers, and the imagination and activity capability is endless with this. We will use this for a long time. The plastic of everything is of great quality. The experiment cards are fun and waterproof. Learning Resources continues to impress us with their products and we love this set.

👤There are three plastic measuring cups, a plastic chopper, an eyedropper, a shape tray for molded items, and four popsicle molds with caps and a stand in this set. It has a booklet with a recipe. The booklet explains some science, and it's a nice set. All of the items have to be hand washed. The set is colorful and interesting, and kids will like being able to make their own things with it.

👤I've been trying to find some fun things to occupy my five-year-old daughter as we're not at home during the summer. She likes to do science experiments at home. The experiments are dull and didn't provide as much fun as I was hoping for. My daughter has found that it is more fun to put all the items in the bathtub and play with them. It'd be a good set for the preschool crowd, but my child and I were a little underwhelmed.

👤I bought this for my 12 year old who likes to cook. It would be nice for her to have her own set of knives, so I could be reassured that she's not using real knives when cutting. The set is a joke. Do they think kids can use this product? The plastic knives are incapable of cutting five of the 15 recipes. I had my kids in the kitchen trying to cut cucumbers with the knives, but they couldn't because they were too liquefying. It's not pretty. The best way to cut through soft foods is with a knife. Don't waste your money. You can get the recipes for free online.

👤It would be a real set with the Master Chef name on it. The plastic knives couldn't cut anything except room temperature butter. The cutting board was so thin that it slid around. My 11 year old knows how to cut with a real knife and was quite disappointed that they weren't a set of real knives for juniors. It wouldn't be a good idea to recommend this to anyone unless you have a young child.

👤I was surprised that they were plastic when we busted them open, I got them as a Cyber Monday deal and did not really look into it. My 6 year old loves to help me in the kitchen, and my 2 year old loves to help her sister. Once you teach how to use a sawing/circular motion, these are not sharp, but have a nice serrated edge. I like these because I don't have to hold their hands like I do with a metal blade. My kids want to do it all by themselves, and this makes it a lot easier to worry about. I wanted something that would help me get started. We've cut onions and bell peppers, which gets the job done. Chicken was easy. I would recommend these for anyone who wants to start their children with something that won't hurt them.

👤You have to use a lot of pressure to make the knives usable. My granddaughter will use my knives and cutting board after I give her this gift. These aren't something she would want to own.

👤I bought this product for my twins to learn knife skills. I thought they would be like my large plastic lettuce knife from OXO, which will cut most fruits and veggies with a little added effort. I'm not hopeful that any of the harder fruits and veggies would work better because these knives are too small for kids. I expected more from this product because it is based on a TV show where kids make some pretty complex dishes. I would have been better off buying a set of cut proof gloves.

The bed fell onto the tile floor during play with my three year old. It cracked. The clear plastic funnel had the same thing happen to it. The items are large. The quality of the plastic parts needs to be addressed because it is too brittle.

We did a solid putty experiment which was cool, but then we realized that the box contained two of the Sodium Tetraborate packs and zero of the crystals. We couldn't do any of the crystal experiments because we couldn't return the box since we did another experiment. The idea behind it is good. I am not happy that we did not get all of the contents.

There are good basic experiments but also more challenging ones like bouncing ball slime and squishy crystals. My child likes to save and admire her creations and the mixing tubes and containers have lids which are great for that. The stirring sticks were touching. My 8 and 11 year olds were able to do them all on their own and it kept them busy during winter break. I would buy again.

After we dried the cabbage powder, we poured the mixture onto the paper. The red cabbage powder was clumped together instead of being powdery. It's really creative and hands on. It's perfect for kids who love making things. Green slime came out great, we made it. If we wanted to, I wish there was more glue so we could make it again. Some of the intermediate activities will require a parent's help.
