Best Baking Knife Set

👤My kitchen looks like a scene from a horror movie after my daughter sliced her finger. I bought these knives after seeing a recommendation. I wouldn't recommend these knives. "won't cut skin" is not true. We got the bleeding to slow and she was calm enough to take a picture. You can see how much blood was on her hand.

👤I wanted to make sure my toddler was safe as she was desperate to join me in the kitchen. These knives are easy to cut through most fruits and vegetables, because they are not sharp to the touch. She was able to quickly chop all of the asparagus for dinner because she needed a bit of assistance. We just got these. For the price, these seem like a great value for my little chef.

👤These knives are very sharp. It is recommended by Raising Generation Nourished, for helping little to help in the kitchen and learning safe knife skills before they are ready for a real sharp knife. My child has been helping in the kitchen since she could sit up and help. I used to buy her the vegetable cutting set so she could cut her own food while my mom cut hers next to her. But very quickly. She wanted to be cutting the same stuff as me, but her knife wouldn't work for that. She always asks for a knife to help. I had been wishing there was an option for her that I could use while not being distracted by the cooking. This was the answer. I was impressed by the quality and design of the knifes. My husband tried them very hard to see if they could cut her skin, because he wasn't a believer in their safety. He was shocked that they passed the test. They now have daddy's stamp of safety approval. Our 4 year old is helping me with meal prep and is using her big girl knives!

They cut better than I expected, and I did what I could to test them out, but they seem to live up to the promise that they won't cut skin. 👤These are not good knives. They're too stiff, and not flexible, as a palette knife should be. The same complaint was read in another person's review. I didn't read the reviews before I ordered them, but I noticed that beginners seem to think they're great. The flexibility of a knife makes it much more useful when painting with it and mixing paint with it. There's a nice variety in the shapes of these knives, but they're all terrible. The smallest one in my set is not attached to the handle. To get a set that works properly, it's better to pay a couple extra dollars. Sometimes beginners will buy cheaper materials thinking they will get better ones as they improve. One may blame themselves for not getting good results when it's actually due to the poor quality of the tools.

👤These aren't flexible and are an important part of using a knife for mixing paint. The long skinny one has some bend to it, but not enough to wipe the paint from the top on a flat surface. If you were going to use them as more of a spatula, they are okay quality. It's not great, just ok. It's advertised as a palette knife, but it's pretty useless for this purpose.

The metal shaft was barely attached to the handle, and was not long or deep in the wood, so with very little pressure, the metal shaft snapped off the handle. These knives are useless. They are a huge waste of money. I have learned to spend more. I need to replace my student's knives with better quality ones. This product is dangerous.

👤I had to make my daughter's 5th birthday cake and I couldn't find my offset spatula so I picked these up in a pinch. I was not planning on covering my cake with fondant to make it look better. One of my best tips is to use offset spatulas for smooth frosting. You can smooth the frosting using an offset spatula or a frosting smoother after crumbcoat and frost. Then, keep your cake out of the fridge. Pull the cake out of the fridge and put an offset spatula in the hot water. Before you use it on the outside of your cake, make sure it is dry. Let the spatula do the smoothing work for you. This set of spatulas was a great price. I like the different sizes. I've never owned a small spatula but it came in handy. I used 2 of them to help move my cake from the turntable to the final round. I would definitely recommend them.

👤These are easy to hold and made from quality STAINLESS. They're only one offset spatula, trimmed front-end and/or back-end to produce three different sizes. The thickness is the same. The shorter one is going to be if you just spatula the shortening without decreasing blade thickness. Less. It is flexible. This is obvious when you attempt to make a cake or use spatulas to spread it. This part must have been missed by the designer. I don't do a lot of detail work. I'm keeping mine. If you're serious about detail work, I recommend that you go to a physical store that sells offset spatulas and see for yourself what you're buying, because pictures do lie sometimes.

👤I ordered these because they would have covered a variety of cooking uses, I was looking for an angle spatula to frost cakes and use in baking dishes. I like to use a spatula that has a steep angle on it so that my fingers and knuckles stay above the icing or whatever it is, but it's pricey. These weren't very interesting. My fingers would have been spread all over the cake pan when I held them. I liked the handle and the strength of the metal, and I would have had no problem with them if the angle had been greater. It was my fault, I didn't look carefully enough at the reviews, or I would have seen people complaining about the same thing.

👤This is a great idea. I was happy to get knives that my children would be safe in the kitchen. They are easy to clean, and we use them several times a week. Throw them in the dishwasher. These don't cut very well. My kids "chopped" carrots with them and ended up with shredded looking carrots. They work better for apples. They don't work for soft foods like bread and cheese. I'm not sorry that I bought them, but I felt compelled to tell future buyers that they don't work very well.

👤The knife is very well made. I found it somewhat awkward to use it as a bread knife. The thin blade and length make this knife perform well as a cake knife. To cut a cake into layers, where a thin serrated blade with length can reach beyond the diameter of most cakes, is where the cut can be smooth. The handle is plastic. Reason escapes me because it is colored green. It was passable after being tested on a loaf of bread. I have other bread knives that have thicker blades, with different styles of serrated edge, and they slice a loaf of bread. I don't think I'll use this knife to cut more loaves of bread unless it's soft crusted, and no other bread knife is available. There is a I would use this knife to layer cakes. If you need to cut layers of cakes, I would recommend this knife. The price won't hurt your bank account.

These will end up in a landfill. I didn't need a three pack for my child, the sizes are the same. The blade is thick so it doesn't slice soft. Something like an apple slice needs to be sawed. A butter knife would have been a better option for training.

👤I bought this set because my daughter loved playing with her barbie pans and utensils. She would mix things and microwave them to make decorations. She can make tiny food that we can actually eat with this set. That's true, but it's not as great as I had expected. I thought "small" would mean "quick and easy". The first recipe required us to bake a small plate of food for 20 minutes. We lost half of it because it was a mess when we tried to cut it. The same thing happened when I tried the same recipe again. The tiny measuring spoons are very tedious to use when you need a lot of wee-spoons. When the recipe turns out to be delicious, there's only one small bite as a reward for all your hard work. I don't feel like it's worth the time or the energy that goes into it, even though I appreciate the cuteness of the set.

👤This is a cute set. It is very small. It seems to come with most of the things you need, but it can be confusing because recipes don't correspond to the items. The cake recipe calls for 1 and 1/2 small spoons, but the smaller spoons are larger. It may be hard for kids to understand guestimation. Some of these items take as long to prepare or cook as their regular sized counterparts, so you're not necessarily saving yourself time with these tiny snacks. Some of the recipes seem very intensive for that size. This seems like a fun project that could quickly fall to the wayside but is definitely eye catching.

👤I gave this to my son for Christmas. He is not interested in many things, with the exception of LEGOs. The little robot kit is small. He asked if he could open it while I was in the shower. I was expecting this little kit to keep him calm until he needed help. The instructions from the robot were enough to give me some sweet, mercy solitude for the entire shower and beyond. He put the whole thing together on his own. If you take one wheel off, it will go in a circle. He attached a marker to the gripping arm to draw designs while going round and round. The robot was dismantled and put back together. He opened it two days ago. He is learning some engineering and cause/effect basics while he is at it. I went back to Amazon to see if there were any more robot kits. I would scoop them up as soon as I saw them.
