Best Baking Knife to Cut Cake

👤This is my second purchase of this knife, and I couldn't be happier. I was surprised by the sharpness of the product. I use it for baking and serving. I will probably buy more if this one goes missing as well.

To cut a cake into layers, where a thin serrated blade with length can reach beyond the diameter of most cakes, is where the cut can be smooth. The handle is plastic. Reason escapes me because it is colored green. It was passable after being tested on a loaf of bread. I have other bread knives that have thicker blades, with different styles of serrated edge, and they slice a loaf of bread. I don't think I'll use this knife to cut more loaves of bread unless it's soft crusted, and no other bread knife is available. There is a I would use this knife to layer cakes. If you need to cut layers of cakes, I would recommend this knife. The price won't hurt your bank account.

You just have to keep on going to make sure it is clean. It isn't much of a problem to store it, just remember it's a long knife. It looks bigger in person.

I know how to assemble the tips. If you don't see the directions, you can remove one of the white rubbers tips from the cake leveler and spread the legs apart so that when you replace the wire it's under enough tension. I don't know how to use 2 wires at the same time as the legs angle out, so I'll just keep it as a spare, unless I can shorten it. Only one wire is shown in the photo.

👤I bought this set for my daughter to learn to decorate cakes. There were a few things that could have been better. The cake slicer wires were loose, and it wasn't immediately clear how to fix them. The cake stand is good, but could have been a little heavier if it had been made out of plastic. It comes with a link to videos you can watch to get better. I wish it had a hard copy of the instructions. It is easier to understand in words. It's not bad for the price.

👤I bit the bullet and decided that I would like this product. I did not. However, I ended up not liking this for a number of reasons. I was worried the grip would get in the way of the scraper. The rounded corner edges are the real downfall of this product. If you don't plan on doing a bottom border, you need square edges to get a clean edge on the cake. I like the straight metal edge of this product. The grip was comfortable. I liked the size, but I thought it could've been a little bigger. The weight is fine. I'm not sure how well the product smoothes a cake since I knew from the corner edges that it wouldn't work for me. I went to a hardware store and bought a smooth tape for the same price after I returned it.

👤I bought this cake icing because I am going to bake a cake for my son's birthday. This smooth icing has an even amount of weight all the way around and it feels good in your hands. I love my products from Wilton.

👤You have to get used to it. I found it hard to hold and when you have a lot of icing it builds up on the blade and gets messy. I think it would work better if the blad was larger. I found that using a metal drywall scraper was easier to use and smooths cakes perfectly.

👤This icing is smooth. I have been using a dough cutter for a couple years but it never got my icing right. You can easily clean up the mess with a paper towel. It's easy to hold, it's large enough that you can smooth out 3 full layers, and it's exactly what I was looking for. I'm mad that I didn't purchase it sooner. Someone who only works buttercream cakes would have avoided a lot of headaches. If you're looking for an icing smoother that will make your buttercream absolutely stunning, get this.

👤After using this a few times. I still prefer the good ol' spackle spatula from the hardware store. This is great. It worked well on 9x13 cakes. I'm not happy with round cakes. I keep in my decorating arsenal.

👤Baking requires a smoothing tool. I wanted this to be the one for me. It's perfect for cakes with great height because it's longer than others. The edges of the cake smoother should not be rounded off. The smoother can't get a clean look at the bottom of the cake. It's a solid 5 stars if you fix that. It's a 4 until them.

Reviewers ruined their spatulas by running them against knives. These are precision tools, indispensable to people who know how to use them, and are just head and shoulders better than anything else. Since iSi has stopped making them, Amazon can step up and make and sell a line of great products, make money, and make customers happy.

👤My wife told me not to buy this yodie-kadodie and now uses it. It has a flat side that is useful for pan edges and a rounded side that is useful for pretending it is a spoon. Cleans up well. I want a boomerang that is made like this. The metal was broken after a short period of light use. This is junk and headed for the trash.

👤This spatula is very nice. It's my go-to kitchen implement when cooking. The quality is not good. The metal core broke through the back of the spatula after a few weeks of use. I returned the item because it was charged a restocking fee. Really? A fee for an item that will be thrown away? The spatula is the second one I have failed. I threw away the first one and returned the second one. I have finished this product.

👤I was told by ISI that they discontinued both sizes of spatula in North America. The skinny version of the design is better for getting the last drop out of cans and jars. The whole unit can be washed in the dishwasher. There's a steel coil. The spatula doesn't go floppy during use. The only downside is that over time, the blades develop tiny fissures and eventually little fragments chip off. Nothing lasts forever. I'm not a fan of Silicone as a rule.

👤I don't think I have enough good things to say about this little kitchen help. It combines the best features of a spoon and a spatula scraper into one very useful utensil that has quickly become my favorite and most-used utensil. I use this thing a lot. The curved spoon corner is great for scrapers and scrapers of curved surfaces, while the other sharper corner is great for digging into corners and edges of other pans. The spoon has the right amount of indent to make it great for stirring and mixing as well as dishing up. The single-piece construction means there are no cracks or crevices for food to get stuck in, the hole in the handle is perfect for hanging on a hook, and the silicone doesn't burn or melt even when left sitting on the edge of a pan with the burner turned up as high I bought a second one because I liked this tool so much that I often used it in the dishwasher.

👤If you fail the magnet test, it is non-magnetic, the better the quality the less magnetic, it will rust, and it has a high Iron content. It's the lowest quality. It's okay for the price, just wipe it dry after washing.

👤The blade is thick enough to cut bread when it's still warm. Who wants to wait for the bread to cool before eating it? I'm making bread because of that. I can eat it warm.

👤They barely cut. I understand that for kids. That is the reason I got them. The teeth are too big for a dull knife. It would work better if they were smaller. Throw them away. I couldn't even cut with them, let alone my 5 year old.

👤This is a great idea. I was happy to get knives that my children would be safe in the kitchen. They are easy to clean, and we use them several times a week. Throw them in the dishwasher.
