👤It works great when used correctly. I took off a star because it stains easily even with correct use. Do not use this with the broiler, as it will cause the temperature to go up. My husband started a fire in the oven because he didn't know how to use it. Oh! Keep the oven door closed if this happens. You don't want more oxygen in because it will feed the fire. Baking soda can be thrown over the flame to quench it. We had to do that.

👤A baking mat that uses up all the space for cookies. I didn't know they collaborated with Bruno Albouse. If you haven't seen his cooking channel, you should. He cooks French food, mainly pastries and Entremets. I use this mat for more than just baking cookies, I use it to bake chicken wings, roasted potato wedges, baked potatoes, swiss cake rolls, baked french fries, stuffed mushrooms, etc. Do not use the abrasive side of a sponge. It will cause small scratches in the mat and that will transfer onto the bakeware, and it will also take on the dishsoap and other oils. I ruined 2 sets of baking mats before I realized what I was doing. If you have done this one or twice, it is possible to save it by soaking the mat in a mixture of water and water and boiling them in hot water for a couple of days. If there's still a taste and scent of dish soap, rinse and repeat.

👤I use an oven liner that catches spills and makes my life easier, but I have never used a Silicone baking mat. I was prepared for ease of use, but not for how useful they are. The baking mats were thinner than I expected, but that doesn't affect their use orDurability. I wondered if having two mats would be wasteful since I only have one pan. Not at all. One cookie can be in the oven while another is ready on the second mat. I put the next mat in the same pan as the first one, then pull out the mat as the oven comes out, place it on the counter, and then put it back in the oven. I don't need to have two pans or cookie sheets. I have round silicone lids that are great for covering casseroles in the oven, but they don't work with a rectangular baking dish. These mats cover the baking dishes. I think I will find more uses for them.

When I saw these mats on sale the other day, the price I was paying for two mats was all I needed to make my decision, even though I had doubts about using plastic in the oven. I received them last night and am ready to use them this morning. The mail had these ROLLED up in it. When I saw that, I was a little disappointed because I thought they would lay flat. I was wrong. They were ready to go when I put them down. I washed them in my kitchen sink and put them in my dish rack. My first graders only likes hot lunches. I was going to make his pizza rolls this morning. I put one of the mats on my cookie sheet and laid out some pizza rolls. They bake for about 10 minutes. When I bake these on my cookie sheet and aluminum foil, they are usually well-toasted at around 9-11 minutes with the cheese leaking out. The pizza rolls seemed pretty raw when I did them on my ChicoChef. I was starting to get worried. I was more worried about the baking process than the smoke around the mats, so I kept an eye on it. I'm not sure if the smoke was due to my old cookie sheet or not. I decided to add an extra minute to my pizza rolls. The pizza rolls were very nice and cooked. The mat was not damaged. I decided to take the oven off and let the rolls sit in the warmth for an additional minute. The dark brown "burnt up" look on the rolls was not the same as it is most of the time. All the other reviewers pointed out that there was no need for scrapers or spatulas to remove food items from these. You can pull stuff off if they wipe right off. As my week progresses, I will try other things with this. If I have an issue with this mat, I will only update this comment. The only thing I can say is that these mats are a con. You have to watch for staining. There is a greenish tinge to the areas where the pizza rolls leaked out. The stains are still there even though I washed with warm soapy water. These mats are a great deal. Other manufacturers charge this price. I bake a lot. The cost for liners can add up at the end of the school year, so I make my sons lunch every day. The round one was the first one I tried. I was making bread in my ceramic cast iron pot. I put the dough on the mat and let it rise. The pot was not greasing. It worked out perfect. I tried the small square one in my pan. It goes up the side a bit. I make a puffed pancake recipe that sticks to the bottom even if I grease the pan. It worked well. After a few years of use and temperatures that may have been higher than recommended, one deteriorated and started cracking. Another was cut all the way through. Cleanup is fairly easy after baking some "juicy" foods. I have had to clean the edges of the baking sheet before because they don't have a perfect seal. I usually don't need to wash the pan for cookies. After a baking session, there are saves around the sink. Occasionally, they have a layer of oil/grease that requires a second cleaning, but I don't notice any smell or flavor transfer. I've noticed that they have a top and bottom, but the top side seems to be non-stick. Silicone doesn't conduct heat as well as some materials, but I still have an issue with overbrowning on the bottom sometimes. I can't be sure without more testing, but I think this has more to do with my double oven than the sheet itself. I don't think baked goods are bad. I always line my pan with one of these, whether I'm making chicken nuggets, French bread, or roasting pumpkin slices to puree.
