Best Baking Measuring Cups and Spoons Set Glass

👤Unless you need metal ones, these are great measuring cups. They go through the dishwasher with a small chance of getting rust. They have raised plastic numbers for the measurements that won't rub off. Water won't be pooling anywhere because the rubber grips are securely fastened to the handles. The handle is made of plastic and not rubber. The storage loop is used to make hard plastic. The spoons are built to last a long time. There are some negatives to consider. If you don't like short handles, look elsewhere. The rubber grip makes them manageable, even though I am not a fan. While they are designed to stand upright, they are heavy compared to measuring cups that are squared off at the bottom. The handle is too heavy to tip over when empty. There is little change in tipping once you've filled it. These are cup shaped and taller than the traditional metal measuring cups. If you have shallow drawers, it might be difficult to fit them. You might be a bit anxious about banging the 1 cup size against a bowl or skillet to get the contents out. I've never felt the need to be careful around these cups.

The plastic feels the same, but the handle style is slightly different. I have no reason to think these ones won't last a long time. They are easy to clean, both by hand and in the dishwasher. There is a clear plastic piece that slides over the section where they snap together, but this set is also split on the other side. It doesn't seem like it's supposed to be that way. 👤I need more of these. I have a lot of Pyrex measuring jugs and they take up a lot of space in my drawer, and I hate how shallow the pour spout is. I haven't used my other measuring jugs since I purchased the 4 cup size of the Oxo Good Grips measuring jug. I use it for warming water in the microwave for my bread dough and I am reaching for it multiple times a day. I cook a lot. It pours without dribbling over my counter. It was a fantastic addition to my kitchen arsenal. I don't want anything but the best in my kitchen. I don't have the patience for substandard products anymore. Pyrex measuring jugs! Highly recommended! I decided to check all four of my oxo silicone measuring cups against my lab beaker so that the accuracy of the primary measurement was undisputed after reading some of the reviews that mentioned inaccuracy. Discrepancy is given in liters. The US measure is 15 liters. Please look at the attached photos. The 1000ml/32oz was over by 50ml. The 8oz was under by 10ml. The 120ml/4oz was under by 10ml/ 120, so please keep in mind that those are for the ones I have. It is possible that they vary some, which would be even more disappointing. Some recipes might not have much of a difference. It may make a difference for others. I still like them for their flexibility and ease of pouring. I wish more attention had been paid to accuracy. If they were correct, they would replace all the measuring cups and jugs in my kitchen. I will still use them for pouring liquids from one vessel into another. They're great for making dressings in a food processor or blender, so you can add the oil slowly. I don't use them as my primary measuring cups because I have other measuring cups and a beaker. Oxo missed the boat. The measuring cups could have been better. The flexibility for pouring and funneling and the fact that they can be used to heat liquids, melt butter and coconut oil in the microwave is unparalleled. These cups could measure. After many years of flimsy plastic measuring cups and spoons, I finally broke down and began searching for good quality replacements. This is worth every penny. Well made and sturdy, it is very heavy duty. I have been using them for a couple of weeks. I will put them in the dishwasher to see how they come out, but I do wash them by hand. These are perfect.

👤It is very difficult to find measuring cups for small amounts. I don't want to spill the liquid when I try to pour it into a bottle because I don't want to get out the tablespoons. I can pour it directly into the bottle opening without spilling a drop if I use a 1/2 cup measuring cup. You get even smaller sized ones for incredible accuracy without resorting to anything. A small bottle brush is easy to use to clean the smallest ones.

I looked at these a couple of times, but eventually caved, because I was looking for something in glass. I used one to measure yogurt and it showed no wear after I used a metal table knife to scoop it back out, and they are just the thing for measuring tiny, precise volumes of liquid ingredients. The rubberised bottoms give them a little bit of stability, and the nested design is great to keep them out of your way. I wouldn't use them for boiling water. Pyrex has the edge there. Whatever unit of volume your recipe uses will handle it. The markings are dishwasher safe and easy to read, and they don't wear off with repeated washings. I prefer glass to plastic because it's light and easy to clean, but the material these are made from is smooth and heavy duty, so even though they are being used daily, they still look shiny and new. The bases are slightly rubbery so they stay where you put them, and they stack up neatly so they don't take up much room in my kitchen. The color coding helps me know which size to grab and they're all nicely stacked together. If I ever have to replace these, I'd get the same one, I'm always impressed with OXO's design.

I am an experienced cook and baker and have a number of complaints about both sets. I have never seen a set like that before. It is not a natural reaction of mine to look for those measuring spoons, they are unnecessary. Some may say it is not a big deal, but for an experienced cook it is noticeable. There are two more The printing on the handle is upside down. When you hold the spoon, you have to twist your hand to read it correctly, because you have to cover up the information you need to. I ordered these from the US site for Amazon because I'm an American and currently living in another country. It was more difficult for me to return these items. When it comes to Imperial cup sizes, ounces are only measured out in 5 equal parts on the largest measuring cup. These cups have subtle improvements over the standard measuring cup sets. The handles and body are made in a single piece, so they don't have welded seams that can come loose or collect debris, which makes for quicker clean up. I like the short handle with thumb grip design for control and easy pouring from the indented spout on the lip, although the lack of a spout on both sides may bother those who use their free left hand for pouring. The cups seem to be of good quality and are likely to last. The capacity on the handle and the cup itself are marked by the text on the handles. The inside of the cup is clearly visible for partial fills. The cups have flat bottoms and sit upright. The cups nest compactly within one another despite the product image being meant to show them off rather than depict reality. This product is able to achieve heavy and accurate measuring, no opportunity for leeching chemicals, and so on. Every cup has multiple measuring opportunities, even down to the 1/6 cup, because it has inside and outside measurement for 1/2 and 1/3. The size of the cup is stamped on the handle of the cup. 👤What really makes my gears work? Cooking instructions can be found in reverse type. I am a boomer and the vision up close is not great. I need a number to tell the difference between the different sizes of these cups. I found out I was using a 1/3 cup as a 1 cup measure and everything tasted terrible. It is not due to the measurements at all.

We decided to keep the smaller measuring units on the ring, and they are easy to use, no matter what. 👤This is a good product, but needs some improvement. The sizes are not the same as the rest of the measuring cups, so you can clearly identify them. The cups don't have a spout on them to make pouring out liquids easier, and it can be a bit messy if you aren't careful. The hole in the end isn't big enough to allow you to pick out only one cup or spoon, so you have to take them all off the ring to do it. I shouldn't have had to drill out the hole to make it bigger. I purchased a set of Betty Crocker measuring spoons and cups from Dollar Tree, but they had holes that were wide enough to allow you to select the spoon you wanted and remove it from The Ring, there was no different color writing on the spoon. I had to take a sharpie marker and go over the measurements because I bought the white spoons and cups from the dollar store. I use a black Sharpie marker. If you're looking to invest in a set of measuring spoons and cups, take my advice and make sure that the hole in the cop is bigger than the ring that they are retained by, so you can take one off. I know what to look for when I need measuring cups and spoons, but this product has some small flaws that bother me, but it is a good product.

👤I was impressed with the reports of material quality, but there were a lot of low reviews about ACCURACY. I can honestly say that both camps have a point, based on the fact that I purchased them myself. I think that one should be used the way I used it, because of my quick experiments. They are accurate. I will probably only use them for liquids. They are very nice looking, well made, and I liked the fact that the handle and body are one piece - no welds to break, no gaps to trap food/liquids in between a welded handle and the body of the cup. One reviewer was aghast at the fact that each cup was individually wrapped in thin plastic and that they could harm wildlife if they threw them into the ocean. A lot of waste is going on there. I can confirm that the set is made in China by reading the box and the sticker on the 1 cup measure. The "less than positive." I don't think you can use the "brim" of these cups to provide an accurate measurement. The larger cups have impressed the smaller ones, which can be seen from the inside. If you fill the smaller cups to the brim and measure against the "standard", you will get similar readings. This is using water, and that leads to a problem. Many of the liquids we're measuring are water, so I think that's a fair test. I started to see differences between this product and my standard by the 1/3 cup measure. The glass cup's calibration was very different from the 1/3 cup and the 1 cup that were filled to the brim. The problem here is the behavior of water between an Arccuisine or Pyrex measuring cup and these cups, if filled to the brim. When the surface of the water is completely contained in the glass cup, the meniscus will be torn. The actual water surface will be conVEX, which means "bulged upward", as with these. That is a huge difference. In a science experiment, you're using a measuring container that you're not filling to the brim, and at least with water based fluids, you're measuring at the bottom of the meniscus. There is a bright side now. I've presented the outside and inside of the 1 cup measure in the pictures with my review. If you use the line or the middle of the "1 cup," you're close to it. My rating is easy to read. I hope it helps others. The side markings seem to be on with another kitchen standard. I don't think you can fill it to the brim and get an accurate measurement for the 1/3 cup and up. Hope this helps.

👤These cups are rough approximations of US measurements. The 1 cup is printed on the cup as being 1 cup and 250 liters. The problem is that the cup is 236 liters. The metric measurement is larger than the US measurement, so if you check it, you'll see it's not the US measurement. The measuring cups and spoons have a problem. You can't get correct measurements using these cups.

👤These are not the first set of cups I have used, and I am still looking for the ones that will make me happy. The inclusion of a Half TBRS measuring spoon is a very nice addition. The metal for the handles and spoons should be thinner. The metal is stamped from a sheet, leaving a sharp edge that would be appreciated, but the time taken to do so would make them more expensive. If you are already considering something nicer, keep in mind why you would choose one over the other.

The cups have conversions listed that are not entirely accurate. One cup is larger than 250ml. The conversions are off by a small amount, so they shouldn't have a big impact on the recipe you are making. I bought a second set for my mother who uses them more often than I do, and I am satisfied with this purchase. Her set has been in use for several months and has not appeared to have been damaged. The product is good for the money.
