Best Baking Measuring Cups Glass

👤I bake a lot of recipes with wet ingredients listed in metric units. I bought this measuring cup because I was tired of converting liters to cups. The measuring cup is thick and heavy, and looks like a regular drinking glass. The lines and unit markings are painted on the outside of the glass. The makings are large and easy to read. The insert on my glass read: Recommended Care - hand wash. Avoid products that are abrasive. Don't use microware. The measuring cup is not dishwasher or microwave safe. I can understand the warning if the markings are painted. The lines would be melted away by the heat and steam from the dishwasher or microwave. I have been washing the cup and it hasn't come off yet, but I will have to wait and see if the markings fade after a while.

Similar quarts often have 1 cup as the lowest point, and this one has 1/2 cup as its lowest measure point. This one has the 1/3 cup I needed. I don't know if that's important or not, but it's very heavy.

When subjected to hot and cold, plastic and acrylic measuring cups will crack and show stress fractures. I now have 1 cup, 2 cups and a glass unit for boiling oatmeal and I have not had any problems with them. I dropped one of them on the floor, but the measuring cup stayed in the tack. L. The floor lost its footing.

👤This is a sturdy, classic look and it pours without dribbling. The choice of marks is weird. They marked liters, deciliters and mililiters on one side and cups, half-cups and third-cups on the other side. The base 10 system requires the deciliters marked out. Put mililiters and end it. There aren't any marks for quarter-cups because we can divide and multiply by 10. I think the marks were decided by people who don't cook or use imperial measurement regularly.

👤The paint comes off. I should have read the reviews before buying the 2 cup version of the 1 cup I already had. That one still has the numbers? The update was updated from 1 to 3. I contacted Anchor Hocking and they said that the measuring cups are dishwasher safe, however they do not recommend using high power gel pacs, citric acid, or Lemi Shine. The products can remove the surface of glassware. Lemi Shine warns against this type of usage. A new formula will help eliminate this problem. They asked for my address to send a new one. I hope it's the one with the new formula.

👤They are great for keeping track of the beer you drink. Studies have shown that someone with a drinking problem can be found if they drink anything over 3245oz in a single drinking session. If you rinse them out, you can reuse them for mixing things.

👤Excuse the sink. I added alcohol ink to the water so that you can see that the cups are level at the two and that the water line is about halfway between three and four. I wasted money on these cups because my resin didn't cure properly.

👤I am returning cups because they are all different. I took a glass measuring cup that I know to have exact measurements, and measured a certain amount of liquid, and poured it into the cups. The measurement in these cups was off. I did an experiment with the cups. I poured a certain amount of water into one of them and then I poured the water into another cup and the measurements were different. They were measured correctly, not just by a small amount. These are not good.

The glass weighed 86 grams. 3 different sets of spoons were used for the test. The glass was 1.5 tbsp with all three. I tried 2 ounces with 2 cups. The item had 2 ounces in it. I use a small drinking glass for cooking. Hope it's taken back by Amazon.

We filled each glass measure with a 10cc needle and did an experiment to see which one was correct. This product was 10ml short of the 4 oz mark, which was measured by my friend. The product's main purpose to measure can't be trusted.

👤I ordered this hoping it would be accurate, but it isn't. We know that 1 ounce is 29.574 liters. The 1oz mark and the 30ml mark should be almost identical, but the 1oz mark is about halfway between 30 and 40ml. I would create an unsafe end product if I mis-measured. I stopped at that point and didn't do anything else. I used 2 other medical devices to confirm against this product. This is not the product for you.

👤I was pleasantly surprised to learn the glass came from Taiwan. I found this glass to be the perfect item to take 3 ounces of Nopalea®. This item was of the highest quality. The measuring lines are in ounces, liters, and grams. Black ink makes the markings clear. I have only had it for a short time but it seems to be well made and long lasting. Don't wash in the dishwasher. The causticity of dishwasher detergents is harmful to the glass as it is not etched but imprinted. It takes less than a minute to clean with hot water and Dawn® liquid.

👤I bought these a year ago and loved the fact that they had many sizes and pretty colors. The handle of one cup snapped off as it was being used to scoop sugar. The cups I use less often have handles, but the spoons have held up. I hate to write a bad review, but I don't like the fact that other people would waste their money buying these cups.

👤The set is the most complete I have been able to find, where the handles did not break or scratch off. The bottoms of the cups are flat and perfect for spatulas with soft edges. Most sets don't include a 1/3 cup which is what it comes with. It also has a dash spoon and a pinch. The handles have the imperial and metric raised on them. They are priced to sell. I was surprised to see the same set for double the price online, but I am happy that Amazon is selling it for a more realistic price. It does not have a quartertsp. There is a I like the raised lettering on the handles, but it could be a little thicker or raised a little higher. You have to see what you have with the right lighting direction. I wouldn't try to scoop out a tub of margarine or use the handle for 2 cups of flour because the plastic they're made out of isn't strong or thick. I don't think I'd use the cup handles for more than 1/3 cup. They are kind of bendy. There is a If you want them to last, I would wash them by hand. If they were made to last proper, I would have given 5 stars but added 4 because they're priced appropriately and handled with care.

👤There are many measuring cups in this set. I had a set from BBB a decade ago and all the ridiculous labels wore off, so it was guessing the last few years as to the sizes. It's easier when I have a bunch together. It's difficult to know. I went to retail stores to get a replacement set, but never the full set I had before. The sizes of cups were never complete. This has them all and some. Too many if I have to say so. It's a good thing. The only gripe I have is that the loop that holds the cups/spoons together is not replaceable, but I cut it off because I don't like them all stuck to each other. Some people do and I don't. I'm a doofus. The clip can be removed. It doesn't like it is, but it's a snap that you pull apart, but not the way you think. You pull the pieces apart sideways. I can't think of a way to explain the photo.

👤Measuring cups are not that complicated. There are only a few things they can do. You can measure liquids or dry goods. The Pyrex does this well. The lettering is clear. If you accidentally place it on a hot stove top, it will not melt. The clean pouring of its contents is one of the most important jobs. The Pyres measuring cup fails at this location. If you don't pour liquids very slowly, you'll get flooding down the cup all over your counter. I own a measuring cup that doesn't have this issue and I looked at the differences in the pouring spouts. The Pyrex spout is small and narrow and appears to have been formed by pulling the rim. I'm not sure if these are made by heating and forming or by some mold, but it is small, so liquids do not pass well through the spout. If you look at my photos, you will see that the spouts are much wider and have a less-angular design. The upper rim of the cup is higher than the outer edges of the spout. The cups pour better than the Pyrex. It is difficult to determine without being pointed out, so I thought people would like to know.

👤I bought a set of pyrex measuring cups a long time ago. I use them daily. The 2 cup is the one that I use the most. It seems like it is always dirty because of how frequently I use it. I ordered a second one. It is not the same. The handle is the same, but the pour spout is different. I can pour it fast or slow and it doesn't spill. The new one has a smaller pour spout. It pours down the side of the measuring cup and all over the counter instead of where I want it to go. I can sometimes avoid spilling if I pour slowly. I almost returned it after the first time I used it, but I would rather wash the other one than use my new one. I took some pictures to show the change, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it with this product. Please let me know if you change this item back to its previous standard. I would love to get another one that is the same as my one. It's a good thing.

👤I have owned this measuring cup for a couple of weeks. I've only used it to measure and pour water. I dried it, put it in the cupboard, and then it exploded about 20 minutes after I put it in the cupboard. That's correct. It exploded without me even touching it. I heard a loud bang in my kitchen and looked over to see the measuring cup in the cupboard. It didn't fall, wasn't impacted, and wasn't subjected to any noticeable temperature change. The measuring cup I received was garbage. Maybe most of them are okay, but some seem to be a little too strong.

👤I like them but they aren't weight balanced. The colors on the handles make them stand out. It's not a problem for dry ingredients, but annoying for things like honey or molasses. I like the idea of coordinating colors. I wish they were not bright primary crayon colors. They are nice.
