Best Baking Oil Cloth

👤Absolutely delighted with this 20 x 20 in food grade 100% pure cotton cheesecloth for straining in the kitchen. When you first unwrap them, they look like a very large thin napkin. They have a slightly tan color because they are not bleached, which is why they are not white. The instructions don't tell you how to take care of them or clean them, but they do say that there might be a few pieces of black speckles in them. I didn't have a problem with mine. They were kept clean and fresh by coming in a vacuum sealed plastic mayerial. I used mine to make butter that was infused with herbs. If you're using any plant-based material, it's going to change the color of the product after you use it for the first time. It doesn't really matter what color my cheesecloth is when I'm done with it as I'm probably going to use it for the same thing later on. I will just run through the washing machine with some of my other clothes to get it clean and ready for another use. It worked well. I'm very happy to have these in my kitchen.

👤The cloths are well made and hemmed. I make butter and marmalades with the help of a piece of cloth. To clean, I must rinse them thoroughly and remove all food clumps. I put them in boiling water until the water cools. I add baking soda and cover the water with boiling water. When cool, I rinse and hang to dry. It's more economical to use food-grade cheesecloth. It was not fraying so fat.

I received another piece of cloth as a gift and it wasn't perfect, but I wasn't happy about it. This one is perfect. I am very happy with the result of making almond milk with the cloth. I have a jar full of almond flour that I extract from the milk. When hygiene is not something that you can simply ignore, the cloths come in a vacuumed bag, which is essential. I wanted to let it flatten first. The pictures of my oven show one layer and two. This is the transparency when it's held up to light. The cloth has some black dots, but it is lint free. I panicked and wanted to let others know that the cloth is unbleached.

👤I'm very upset with this product. I've been trying to convince my husband that we need this tablecloth. He initially said no because he didn't want to pay that much for a table cloth that wasn't fabric. I convinced him to order this in February because we changed the colors of the tablecloth and it matches our decor. When we received this, I was happy that it was a thicker vinyl than the $4-$10 vinyl ones at Walmart, Fred Meyer, and other stores, as I fell in love with the pattern even more. We didn't put this tablecloth and our new decor together until April because we were busy. On April 17th, I take this out of the package and put it on the table. It looked great, but I thought one small area felt thinner than the rest of the table cloth, but I wasn't sure if I was imagining it. It wasn't the end of the world because it had a plate that went over that area. Fast forward to the beginning of May. We sat at the table for less than 4 times in 3 weeks. I took a wet cloth and wiped it down three times. I used water and a mild soap to clean it. Nothing that is too harsh and could damage it, and didn't use a rough sponge. I noticed the spot was thinner on the 3rd and final wipedown. I wiped the table down for the 4th time in 3 weeks after we had company over and I found a quarter size hole in the center of the table. I can no longer use the tablecloth that has only been on my table for 3 weeks. What a waste of money. I've had many vinvyl tablecloths for different holidays and spent $5 on each of them, they never rip, and get tons of use. It shouldn't happen for a $26 tablecloth used 4 times. I wouldn't recommend this product right now. I threw away $26. I spent $26 on a bad tablecloth and now have no tablecloth or husband. He threw this away because he didn't want to look at it anymore. I wanted to try another one, but my husband said we weren't wasting another $26 ordering this, and you know what, he's right. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm not happy with my one, but there's some people who are, but I don't know how I got it. I should have sent it back and requested a new one when I opened the package, but I didn't. I didn't think it was an issue. If you feel a thin spot like I did, please don't do what I did. Send it back and ask for a new one. That's what I think. My table is bare, and not as pretty as it used to be.

👤This tableo is not oilcloth. It is made from vinyl. I think it will only be used for one season. The advertising is not what it is. It has cuts throughout the tablecloth as I discovered when unfolding it.

👤I ordered some to use in camping. They don't get dirty. Liquid can be wiped up or pushed off the edge. I washed them and they still look new. It's a good thing that they don't have felt backing, which is a good thing for picnic tables. I would buy them again if I had to replace them, but I don't know if I will ever.

👤We found this online and have a round table. It's hard to find a round tablecloth with our dimensions. It looks very rich. My wife has used a pre-stain treatment a couple of times to get out liquor stains and we washed it in the cold cycle and had no problems. My wife irons everything and it always comes out clean.

👤I'm pretty sure this doesn't make it un-useable, but the video shows it in a long tube. The mat was larger than the box it was in. The mat has a permanent crease down the middle, as well as some rippling, because it was folded in fourths. I rolled it up after removing it from the box and hoping the creases would come out. It was rolled for a couple of weeks after purchase and I have never used it. The photos show that it is still creased and rippled. The package says it should not be stored in a flat fashion. Why did it fold up in fourths?

👤I don't like having to deal with the mess of flour when making dough. I was excited when I read that even the stickiest dough would be easy to remove. I wanted that to be true but it wasn't. The first time I used the mat, I had to remove the pastry crust because it stuck so badly. The only way to get the cookie dough to come off was to put a lot of flour on the mat. The mat doesn't slip and it washes up great, that's the only positive thing I can say. I'm going back to using a pastry cloth if I have to use flour to roll out dough.

👤The plastic pie mat broke recently. This was purchased as a replacement. It's easier to use and it doesn't stick to it. I've already made pizza crusts, bread, and 2 apple pies using this mat. I like the size of the guides. It's not like my old mat. I'm still figuring out the most efficient way to clean it, and I think wiping it off with some soapy water and then rinsing it with a sponge or cloth is the easiest way to do it. The other way is to put it in the sink and roll it with a towel. It has a band to hold it closed if you lose it, and it rolls up for storage. I put some flour on it when I roll a stickier dough, but have no problems sticking it. I love it!

👤Heavy weight with markings in inches. I keep mine rolled with a liner and a band. I can prevent slippage by wiping my table with a damp cloth before I roll the mat. I only use this for rolling dough, not as a baking sheet liner. It is a nice large surface for working dough. The surface can be cleaned with a pastry scrapper. It is dishwasher safe, but I don't know how it would work in a dishwasher. I put mine in a sink of hot soapy water, drape it over a strainer, and then wipe it off with a towel.

A couple of drops of chicken juice dripped from the table cloth after a party. I washed the cloth with the expectation that the spots would come out. Water bubbles up on top of the cloth. It doesn't stain when it is soaked. It has been tested by spaghetti sauce, curry sauce, all juices, milk, and everything else under the sun. We will be buying more because it washes up beautifully and dries perfectly.

👤Not hemmed at all! I could have bought this raw sheet of vinyl at any local craft store. I tried to be positive and think that the edges might have been treated to keep them from unraveling, but after a few days I am already getting threads. It is slippery on the table because it is not fleece lined. The cloth surface and cute print doesn't look like vinyl. The tablecloths at local stores were not as thick as I was expecting. If the print starts to wear off early, I will update the review. It would be 4-5 stars if this was finished like a tablecloth. I was a little frustrated that I spent so much money on a raw sheet of vinyl.

👤I didn't purchase these for the purpose of purchase. One of my cats has a habit of wanting to urinate on my furniture. The plastic tarps were useless to keep the furniture covered, the dog and cat claws were punctured through them, and they looked tacky and weren't comfortable to sit on. Who wants red or blue or yellow checkered table covers? The design on these match the color scheme of our family room so they look nice. The issue of urine soaking through to the upholstery wouldn't have been solved with regular furniture slips. Since they have a vinyl top and flannel back, they keep spills from soaking through and are easy to wipe off. The guilty cat doesn't like the texture, so that alone has solved our issue. I wouldn't want to put down a 9 year old. They're attractive, tough, and quick to use, and if we're having company, they're easy to use. I don't need to wash them yet, but they seem sturdy enough to go through the washing machine on a gentle cycle. It is more expensive than normal table covers, but it is worth it for our needs.

👤These mats are not of the highest quality. They developed black charred spots on the first use on the sections that were exposed and no amount of scrubbing will remove them. This has happened with two of them. My other mats have never done this. I will never purchase anything made by this company again. I did not notice that this is the second product I have bought from this brand. I threw the packaging away when I tried to return them.

👤2 of them were used 3 times. Set at 7 on my cooker. They have burned marks on them. I'm pretty sure the temp didn't reach 480 degrees for 7 and 4 minutes. There were still higher settings. I like that they are easy to clean and non stick. Sad that they look bad now. Will they remain easy to clean? Thank you.

👤The sides are finished so that they don't come undone, but the ends where the cheesecloth was cut from the bolt are not. I put the cloths in the machine to wash them. I spent 20 minutes trying to untangle them from each other. I advise you to hem the edges or just wash them. If you use these on oil, you will have a clean-up that lasts longer. I wouldn't buy these again.

👤I use these to make homemade ghee and bone broth. They are big enough to line my strainer, but I fold them into four layers. I hemmed them by hand because the other two sides are raw. It will make them more durable. They wash up well. Without unfolding them, I shake out any strained out items, then run hot water through from the back side to rinse out as much fat and debris as I can. A squirt of dish soap and a rub will lather up. I hang them to dry. These will last a long time with careful use.

👤This is a quality brand of cloth with a right, fine weave, which doesn't shred apart like other brands, which have left threads and shreds in the food I am preparing. I ordered this to help me strain kefir and to use as a cover for the jar so the mix can breathe. I plan on straining fruit purees for cheesecakes. The size is generous and will last me for at least 6 months. I would buy this again.

👤More than I needed. Good quality and safe food. I made butter/oil for food and needed to strain out plant matter and held it together after wringing out, twisting and compression. It was 240F and held up well. I used coconut oil and got amazing results, recommended plant matter at the percentage to weight ratio to use for the butter I used produced highly accurate results during the double boiling process, definitely use this for large or small ratios, it fits all your needs.

👤The baking mats are great. The quality is excellent and the price is good. I use them for everything in the oven. You name it, it's from oven pizzas. I love that they help protect my baking sheets by helping food slide off the non stick surface. It is also very convenient to just wipe them clean or put them in the top shelf of the dishwasher. You can cut off 1/3 of the paper towel roll to use as a holder, and just roll up the mats and slip inside the ring for easy storage of the mats in a drawer. I highly recommend them. We use these mats almost daily and I have had them for almost a year. They look brand new. I have not had any issues with mats becoming worn or staining. I use them to cook most items at up to 450 degrees but have not had any issues with them so far. I drape them over my cups in the top rack of the dishwasher and then when dry roll them up and slip a napkin ring or rings cut from and empty paper towel roll into a drawer so they fit easily into a drawer. These things are fantastic and have paid for themselves many times over in the superior non stick surface, ease of clean up and the cost of parchment paper and or aluminum foil I used prior to discovering them.

👤I spoke with an Amazon customer service representative and was told that they would escalate the issue to have it addressed and possibly amend the product review. I am surprised that they didn't offer a refund on the product, but I think the most important thing is to see if they address the fire and safety issue at its root. There is an update on 11/11/18. One reviewer stated that these are not good for use above 400 degrees F. The mat was smoking when I opened the oven after putting it in the oven. This was the mat itself, no oils or anything applied to it. I changed my review to one star and will be requesting a refund from Amazon. This is a danger. I've been trying to reduce my carbon footprint so I was looking for an eco-friendly alternative to aluminum foil to line my baking sheets. The mats were the ticket. They fit perfectly on my baking trays. These are even better than aluminum foil because I don't have to use oil to make them non-stick! I can cook even better. I will recommend this to my friends.
