👤I would like to give a virtual hug to the Betty Crocker team for how simple and great this pizza maker is. My family and I used to love making pizzas in the gas oven in our old home. The new home we moved into had an electric oven. The bottom of the pizza wouldn't be cooked by the new oven because it wouldn't burn the top of the pizza. It's the same as being made from scratch or frozen pizza. The pizzas would come out burned on top and not cooked on the bottom, if we tried to change the temperatures, pans, setting, position of pizza in the oven. I got the Betty Crocker because we gave up on cooking pizzas in the oven. They came out perfect, just how we used to like them. The bottoms are cooked now and not on top. I made pizzas on the first try. One pizza is frozen DiGiorno rising crust, the other is made from scratch and the third is Boboli crust and I just put the ingredients on myself. I lifted the lid a couple times to check on them after they were cooked for 11 minutes. I recommend this product and now we can go back to eating pizzas more often than we should. I'll report the results and throw a picture up once I figure out how to make this giant cookie.

It was appealing because it could cook so many things and I don't want to store another small appliance that only makes one thing. I ordered it even though I was skeptical after reading the reviews. It was secured in a larger box. I read the manual after taking it out of the package. The manual doesn't say to burn off the chemicals, but I did it anyway because of the suggestions by the other reviewers. I remembered the smell and the smoking. I didn't have that. I kept it open for twenty minutes. The manual recommends that I unplugged it and cleaned it. The manual says I let it cool and "seasoned" it. I made pizza in it the next day. I made a pizza with a rising crust. It took 13 minutes to get a golden brown. My family says it was the best pizza they have ever had. I had to use an oven mitt as the sides get hot and steam escapes when you open the lid. While the pizza is still in the maker, use a spatula to check the dough. When it is done, slide the spatula and pancake turner onto the plate, and then just slide it onto the plate. It sounds more complicated than it is. I made a cheese pizza in 8 minutes. I didn't want that pizza to burn, so I didn't allow it to go one more minute. The crust is very thin. It tasted great too. Without heating up the oven and hand washing a pizza pan that doesn't fit in the dishwasher, there is no way to do this. The manual has recipes and times for cooking. I had cinnamon rolls in the fridge. I tried them in the maker. They cooked in 8 minutes. I will remove them at 7 minutes if and when I make them again. At 8 minutes, they were almost burned. They still tasted great. I can't wait to make tortillas. I am going to try large cookies. I am very happy with this purchase. It is easy to clean and store. It's much easier than a pizza night. There is no timer on this pizza maker. You have to check the pizza occasionally. It will be easier next time because I wrote down the times of everything I cooked. After five minutes, I checked the food on the stove. The method was right for perfect crust.

The package arrived just a half an hour too late to use the basket, but the instructions printed on the box work well. The food will eventually get done, but you should not count on it happening when you want it to. The doors are the main problem. When you swing them open, they are supposed to click into place. It is so weak that it will snap back to the closed position if you don't pause for a couple seconds. There is a If you don't reach your hand in, the hot doors will close quickly. Everyone that has been to my place has been impressed with how great it looks. I cook them some bomb food and they love it. The buttons are a little squishy and need a little more pressure to work. The power cord is short so make sure the outlet is close by or you'll need an extension cord. Two prongs is not a big deal. The toasting option doesn't display a clock to let you know when it's done. I can't seem to get a counter to work. When it has a shade, it will display a shading number and then shut off. I think it does it in quarters. It's pretty much whole thing. 3 is 75%. Also. I usually stick with 3 since 4 sometimes overcooks. Baking is very easy. Set the temp and the lights will come on to tell you it's preheating. When it's ready, let out a chime. It gives you an actual timer that you can set to your liking. The default is around 20 minutes. Add or subtract what you need. There is a lot of room in this giant. Once you open the doors, they will stay open. I saw another reviewer say they didn't shut on their own. They will stay open if you open them all the way. The clock seems to work. I've had it for a bit now, but have noticed other people saying they've had issues with theirs, but mine seems to be okay. Should anything happen, will update. This thing is amazing. Some reviewers are complaining about doors not staying open. I've been using this oven for 3 years and have not had a single problem with it. The doors are as strong as they were 3 years ago. If you slam the doors shut or allow them to, the doors will break. It's not going to last if you treat the oven like it's your own. It will last you as long as I have.

👤I wanted to make New England style hot dog buns that were longer, so I bought 2 of these. I make enough bread dough for a loaf. I put half of the dough in each loaf pan, pressing it into the bottom to spread it out. I allow the dough to rise for about 30 minutes. I sealed the pans with foil after brushing the dough with milk. They go into my oven at 350F for 15 minutes, then I remove the foil and let them bake for another 10 minutes or so, until the internal temperature is 190F. After removing it from the oven, I need to cool it off for 10 minutes, then I need to cut it. It's easy to cut them into buns. You need to cut a thin slice off the loaf. You slice the loaf in half. Then slice each half into 3 equal pieces. 6 bread slices are half the height, but twice as thick as a normal slice. Carefully cut a slot into the top to make sure you don't cut too deep. Pan toast the buns with a little butter, stick one of those longer length hot dogs in the slot, and add your topping.

If you use Betty Crocker or Pillsbury you can fill 2 of these pans with 1 box of banana bread and 1 box of blue berry muffin mix. I baked mine all at 375 degrees for 45 minutes and they came out perfect. It's nice to bake in a bag or box and have your gift ready to go. It's not possible to wash the bread pans constantly. 👤I absolutely love this mat. I ordered the large size mat the very day I received it, and I was so impressed with it that I wanted to start with it. I have never used a silicone mat before, but I bought the smaller size to try it. I used it to make pasta dough. Anyone that has made pasta by hand knows that it takes a lot of time and effort. The mat worked well. I didn't need to add flour to the pasta. I was able to use this particular size of dough because it fits in a small counter space between my stove and the wall, and I was able to use it without any flour on the floor for the first time. I used to use a 12 x 18 plastic cutting board to knead dough, and I would always add flour and/or oil to keep the dough from sticking to the board. The dough was more elastic than usual when I put the pasta through the machine. I was able to focus on creating a great final product, not on reducing the mess. The directions said to clean it with boiling water. Instead, I put in the sink with hot water and dish soap and let it sit for a while. The mat does not stick to itself when I store it rolled up. The Medium size mat in the pictures is large enough to make ravioli. I immediately ordered the largest size to cover the top of my portable butcher block island, because I was so impressed with how well this mat worked. The mat does not have a lot of clean up. The mat is not non-stick. It is a thin, flimsy mat and it doesn't stay on the surface. I am not buying this again.

👤I have been using the baker for a long time and it works well, producing crisp loaves each time, and without the sticky-ness problem that others have reported. I have adapted Mark Bittman's "no knead" recipe, which uses 3 C flour, 1/2 tsp instant yeast, and 1/2 C water. In a large bowl combine flour/yeast/salt. Dough will be sticky. Put the bowl in a tight place. I let the dough rest for 14-16 hours at room temp. Liberally flour a large cutting board, place dough on it, sprinkle with a little more flour, and fold it over. Divide it into 3 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a shape. Allow to rise for about 2 hours. 30 minutes before dough is ready, put an empty pan on the center rack of the oven and bake it. After 30 minutes, lightly sprinkle some flour in the pan. It may look messy, but that's okay. For about 25 minutes, cover with a lid. Remove the lid and bake another 12 minutes. Or until it's gorgeously brown. It was cool on the rack. I don't need to put flour in the pan anymore. Clean-up is easy because they won't stick. I think the difference is the preheating of the pan in the oven.

It's impossible to stop these from sticking, so just tear a small piece for each baguette, and you can save yourself a lot of headaches. I marked it down to 4 starts because they could do more to prevent it from sticking, but also because it's hard to hold with oven mitts, and one day I'm going to drop it. I used the King Author French style baguette recipe. You don't need to be scared of wet dough, use oil and water to prevent it from sticking to your hands, and see the pics. I toast them before I eat even after they have cooled.

There is a warning I burned my hand very badly when I removed the cover for the last five minutes of baking the bread. I was stupid for not using full oven mitts. I used pot holders to lift the lid. 👤When I bought this product, I was trying to trust the reviews. There were other people on the market for more reviews, but I didn't know what to expect from a banneton basket. I buy it from bread bosses. The cover is on and it looks ok. Everyone uses theirs without a cover to get that outline from the bannetons. I also wanted that. The basket is not covered and it looks like trash. You can see the cracks that aren't mended with splinters. The dough scraper is cheap and flimsy. I was sad. I was going to write a review, but I saw the little cards the brand sends. The guy is Danny. I sent him photos of what it looked like and he didn't like it. I wanted what I was paid for. It is not cheap. The guy said that I could get a replacement or refund. Yes. It's nice over email. The questions were sort of unfitting. Not bad but not what I expected. He says he will send a replacement set. It has been over a week since I received my replacement and there has been no word or mail.
👤I have never used a banneton before, so this has been a learning experience. Unless you're trying to not have a nice pattern in your dough, you don't need the cloth cover. The seam side goes up after the first proof that the yeast is active. If you want the banneton to stick better, mist it lightly and then drop it in your shaped dough. As soon as the banneton 2nd stage proof starts, make sure your oven and baking stone are ready to bake. After the 2nd rise is over, you can dump the dough onto a sheet of foil or paper and razor it. The finished dough can be easily released from the banneton if you sprinkle enough semolina. You can cover your proofed dough with a deep dish roasting pan or aluminum pan if you transfer the aluminum foil right to the baking stone. The first 20 minutes of the bake are kept in the natural steam by using a dutch oven. Remove the pan and allow the crust to develop. The banneton should be dry and brush out the inside with a toothbrush. The banneton is perfect for the next use. Happy baking!

His e-mail said that the orange scraper in the banneton set may have a slight problem, but nothing Bread Bosses can't fix. The Bread Bosses logo can peel off the orange scraper and they are offering a free replacement. Danny responded within hours that a replacement scraper would arrive within a week. I am very impressed with the customer service of Bread Bosses and their response to an issue with the dough scraper. I received an e-mail from Bread Bosses with video instructions on how to use the banneton and an e-book on how to make a sourdough starter. These bonuses were really nice.
