Best Baking Rack for Oven Cooking Oxo

👤2 of the 3 seem to be normal sizes. Not tragic, but not what I wanted. I will definitely use them and won't return, just check your pan sizes before ordering. They have completely changed my relationship with bacon. It's probably not in a way my doctor would appreciate, but it's so much easier and cleaner than pan frying. 100% win there! It's easy to clean, that's something to rate on. These types of products are the worst things to clean. It doesn't matter what brand it is. If they're going to the oven for any kind of baking, make sure you hit them with cooking spray first.

👤This is a good design and a good value, but the finish in some spots leaves metal burrs. Some of the baking racks are pretty bad. I tried to make the edges smooth. I would likely experience the same with the replacements.

👤My search for a good rack has been very frustrating, too many of them are not solid or flimsy. This one is very sturdy. All of the wire is good heavy gauge. I had to file off a few edges on wire because of slight warpage. It's better than most. I would buy it again. I didn't receive this product in exchange for my review. 👤I received my 2 racks yesterday and they are great! Love that they are high quality. I will use mine for cooking bacon in the oven and other uses. The pans fit perfectly on the racks. After reading the reviews and getting different answers, I still don't know if the rack is above or below my pan. The top of my pan is about a quarter of an inch below the rack. This is where I wanted it to be. The rack is strong. Thank you for the great product.

👤I am very happy with the performance of this rack. I use this rack to bake chicken pieces. The wire diameter is a little smaller than other racks, but it is still sturdy for baking/roasting. It was clean after a run through the dishwasher. I have had rack that have been plated steel or coated steel and eventually they break down. The cheaper versions will last less than this one. The only thing I have a problem with is that some of the cut ends of the wires were a little dull. I have a question about whether this rack will survive an oven cleaning cycle.

I put mine in Franks hot sauce for about 6 hours, then sprinkle with a little black pepper and smoked paprika. The rack made them come out better than ever. Next time, I might lightly broil them for that extra crispness. The rack is well made. The meat wouldn't stick if I sprayed it with Pam. It fit perfectly in my pan and held about 18 wings. It was easy to clean up with a plastic scrubber. The instructions said to dry it immediately. Even though it says for baking and broiling, they don't list a temp. The wrapper has a max on it. I couldn't find one.

The outer edges of the pan are shown in the measurements shown on Amazon. The rack is 8.25x11.25” Again, perfect for me. I used the rack for the first time this week and I am so happy I bought it. It was used to dry brine the ribeye for a few days to get rid of all the humidity. It was easy to put the steak on the counter and let it rest. Just put it in the oven. The steak was thrown on the cast iron for the perfect sear after baking. The steak was returned to the pan/rack for the final rest. Things were simplified for me. The final step to let the steak soak in the juices is better with a wooden or bamboo platter. I will keep one. The tray combo is really good. People don't get mad. It is so tiny. They let the public know of the measurements on Amazon. Measure using a tape measure.

👤The pan/rack is well-designed and works well. If you buy the larger size, you will have to squeeze the pieces into the machine, so be careful. The shipping box and pan were damaged, so we had to fit the rack into the pan. I was expecting a new product at this price point. I didn't return it because the whole point of on-line purchasing is to avoid going to public spaces. I would rate the rack 5 stars if it was new.

👤When doing a reverse sear, I needed something to roast steaks on. This was perfect. There is room for two, four, steaks depending on the size. No weird smells or tastes come from the clean up. One of the best additions to our kitchen in a long time. If you are cooking for more than 3 people, you will want something bigger.

I bought the thick ribeye at the store for $25 and the reverse-seared one at home. The rack was made in China, but it still helped me prepare a steak, even though it wasn't as good as the sheet.

They are sturdy and can be used in many ways, but that makes them more versatile. I can use them for more than one thing. A locking mechanism for the legs would make them perfect and rate 5 stars. The legs swing freely if they are stacked. The soaps can be tipped over if they are standing on edge. It's worth an extra star for added stability. I could see how misfortune could happen when a rack is re-positioned and something hot on it slides off as the rack is lifted. 3 stars is not a criticism, but a recognition of the nature of the beast, and as far as " easy to clean" is concerned, there is no such thing.

Teflon came off when I sprayed the clean on them. I have used these without any problems. It's easy to clean and double the size of my smoker. My wife is happy because we can put them all in the cabinet without taking up a lot of space. Trust me, get these without Teflon. You will be happy.

I expected it to reduce what I call the sludge factor. The rack I ordered was made of STAINLESS STEEL and was designed to help with ease of cleaning. There is a small amount of bacon that is frees easily, but I have yet to remember to pre-spray. I wipe food off with a paper towel when I soak in soap water. I use a nylon brush to wash. All food items are removed from the rest of the rack parts when the brush gets into the small areas where the folding rack legs are attached. No rust or any other discoloration should be noted. Highly recommend.

👤Great rack. It was the right size. I use it in my oven. I use it for baking. I can cook french fries without worrying about them falling through because it fits perfectly on the rack holders. The holes on the wire mesh are small and my biscuits and cookies don't move. There is a I can cook directly on the rack because the items that I am cooking get cooked on both sides at the same time. I can cook in less than half the time it takes. This is a must have for this person. I don't like that it's a little pricey. It's a great item and I'm glad I bought it.

The meats and oils will stick to the struts and Every because the racks are not coated with anything. Single. Crevice. I have made bacon on them in the oven three times and the cleaning process is long and difficult. A toothbrush scrubber or grill brush is needed. The feet for all three of the racks will not sit evenly and the only way to bend the sheet is to hit all four of them at the same time. The first time I used the sheets for cookies, I almost catapulted one onto the floor when the sheet tipped. The overall impression was 3 stars. You get what you pay for. I will buy a non-stick coating sheet for my meats/grilling next time around and keep these for cooling purposes only.

👤These are nice. They are used for cooling and baking. Baking is the challenge. The bars are all parallel, so they are easy to clean, and the gauge of wire is nice. The design of my old rack made it hard to keep the meat or skin intact and it also made them hard to clean. I use the large one to bake chicken thighs and other items that I want to spread out in my pan. I have not used them under the heat, but I expect them to be fine. This set of racks is a great value.

👤I love this brand. When it arrived, I loved it. I used it to make a pizza. The pan was in the oven. I was surprised. This isn't important for a pizza. If you were baking, your batter would flow over. I wanted to exchange the pan that I had for two weeks. It was difficult because of Amazon. I didn't have the box in which it arrived. I wasn't going to look for a half sheet box to return the product. I just print out a slip and drop the product off at a facility. I threw out the pan because it was not an option. It was sad that it didn't work out and that a replacement was hard.

👤It was fine for a couple of weeks. Other reviewers have had issues with warping, but I have not. It is impossible to keep clean. The micro-grooves make them fit into channels which can only be cleaned one at a time with the corner of a rag or brush, and they serve as perfect spots for oils and grease to pool and bake on. You end up cleaning the pan one square inch at a time. You're left with a non-stick surface over the raised 50% of the pan and the other 50% of the pan has burnt oil in it, which sticks like hell. I stick a silicone baking mat in it for anyone who has already purchased it. For everyone else, I suggest you look elsewhere. If you can find the cheapest pan, you can buy the mats. They are easy to clean.

👤Wow. I was excited to swap out my tarnished avolon pans for these beautiful ones. There was a "pop" and one of the pans was warped within a few minutes. It was disappointing after all the hype.

👤I'm pretty sure this is a good pan. I thought it was 10x15, but it is not. I was disappointed because I was going to make a Texas sheet cake all day.

👤The product is easy to clean. Other people have stated that the pan warps. The first time I used it to roast veggies, the pan made a loud noise in the oven and stayed warped when I removed it. After it was washed it came back to it's original shape. If it warps, I will send it back, but I will try it again at a lower temperature.

The air circulates better than my air fryer, so I tried it for cooking, and it worked great. I use a nylon dish brush and sink sprayer to clean it. It's easy to store. It's worth the cost.

👤The copper is pretty and it's sturdy. I use it to hold earrings both horizontally and vertically. This is probably not a typical use, but I recommend it. I have a lot of French hooks and kidney wires in my earrings. I think I will be able to fit 80 or so before it gets too crowded. There was no comment on its use as a cooling rack. Perfect for French hooks. It looks very nice. Doesn't come with mounting hardware. If you have an earring problem, this is the use you should use.

👤I have been very impressed with the baking products from the NordocWear line. The exception has been the big sheet cooling rack. It arrived warped from the manufacturer. The cooking rack is not straight. They fit their big sheet pan perfectly and being convex is not a good thing. I thought I would keep it, but how big a deal could it be? A lot. The cooling rack is the same height as the lip. I was trying to cook the chicken strips in the pan and a few fell off. I will return this one and order another one, hoping that it was a mistake. The new one arrived with a slight curve to it that made it easier to eat. It's much happier with this one.

👤I have accepted that any product from Nordic Ware will be rejected by the company. I requested an additional discount for the Bundt pan, but let this grid slide since I knew the risk. It is something to consider if you are not getting much of a discount.

This is worth considering if you are baking in large batches or have limited space. You should be able to fit regular sized cupcakes but not big muffins or cupcakes with a lot of icing because there isn't a lot of space between layers.

👤I like to make my own bread and pizza. Pizza needs to cool on a rack. This is perfect. It is a single rack. I would only need to hold 2 pizzas if you open it up. Very nice. The bread is exceptional. I usually make up a bunch of dough. I have two hot pans and two pitas. They need to go on a rack after they come off the pan. In the past I tried to use an oven rack, but ran out of room, so each Pita cooks for about 3 - 4 minutes, far shorter than the amount of time needed to dry them. It was difficult to fit all the pitas onto the oven rack. It worked, but it was a mistake. I put a couple on the bottom layer, then a couple on the next layer, and two more on the top layer. Three layers hold all the pitas. When the cooking is done, I give 15 - 20 minutes more cooling, then all the pitas can go into a bag and into the freezer. It was perfect. The bag doesn't get a lot of ice, the pitas don't freeze up hard, and it's just right. If you make your own Pita, you'll know that it's not safe to eat for 2 days because it's been made with Preservatives. It is important that the pitas are dry before they are frozen. This is the right rack for this. If you want to increase the recipe to 24 pitas, you can do 12 on the rack and then replace the old ones with the new ones by the time you are ready to do 13 and 14. You can make as many pitas as you want without having to store more rack space. For most home makers, 12 is enough. I can use it as a single layer for pizza. It's perfect for anything that needs to be cooled down. Price was correct. It is made in China. Good luck finding anything like this. The U.S. manufacturers couldn't compete and so they set up Chinese factories. American labor is more expensive. If you want to let the Chinese take the extreme low wages for manufacturing jobs, think about getting an education and doing the smart work. I worked in manufacturing for a while. It makes you hate yourself. Let them do it.
