Best Baking Racks for Oven Use with Pan Nordic

👤This pan warped more than any I have had before. It is fine for roasting but not for delicate baking. It starts out flat, but once in the oven there is a loud pop. You can see the results in the photo that was communicated with the manufacturer. They responded very quickly. Sorry to hear the tray didn't work for you. We are finding in a few cases that it warps, but in the majority of cases it doesn't. It seems to be a problem in ovens that don't have an even heating, which makes one side of the pan heat quicker than the other. We are fighting against the natural properties of the steel. If the pan is evenly heated, it won't warp, but if one side is hotter than the other, it will warp. We used a thicker grade of steel to try and hold the pan rigid, which works well, and put the rod inside the rim. I am happy to arrange for a refund if you can provide me with your order id. If the pan is usable for you, then keep it, if not, then give it to a friend or relative, as chances are it won't warp in a different oven.

👤It is easy to clean but bent in the oven at 450 degrees. When heated, it will pop back into place. It has been staining very easily. I changed to 3 starts because it pops back to place and still heats evenly when popped in the oven.

👤The description says they designed and made a non warping baking sheet, but it does warp a lot. We use these for things like baking french fries, tator tots, chicken thighs, and when they get hot, they warp badly. One corner will be close to an inch higher than the others. It's not acceptable in a baking sheet. I have some old aluminum and steel sheets that don't warp, and I also have some plain steel sheets that don't warp. I wanted to use the dishwasher. I've used them about a dozen times with the same results. They warp when I use them. The temp I use for fries and tots is 450, but they warp at 375 for chicken. They need to be flat at the temperature they are used to, but that's useless when the temperature cools. The design was bad. Don't buy these if you want sheets that stay flat. They may work fine as a cookie baking sheet at 350 or lower, but I have not tested to see if they start warping. They are useless as a baking sheet at higher temperatures. I'll add more pics later. The pictures of the warping have been added. I don't recommend them because they are not warp resistant. Try another brand and save your money.

👤I bought 8 of these for my spouse. Thanks to the many good reviews, I was confident that this would be a great purchase. I'm wondering how many reviews were about plants. As soon as it touched the warped oven rack, it was gone. There was no unreasonable thermal shock because the sheet was room temperature. This is not acceptable. I think the other sheets will do the same thing. I'm not happy with my purchase. It seems that Amazon reviews are more about initial impressions than anything else.

👤This cooking sheet is very nice. I like being able to bake a whole salmon filet without having to cut it. I like being able to cook 2 full racks of spare ribs. I like that it fits in my oven and has enough room left for heat to circulate. I enjoy being able to cook. There is a lot of cookies in one go. I don't have to clean it as often because I bought a silicone baking mat. It's easier to clean this if I keep them lightly oiled. The first time I used it, I baked it at 400F because it was warpy.

👤I love my Nordic ware big baking sheet. I have a standard oven and it gives me about 2 inches of air flow on every side when it is centered on my rack. I washed it by hand, dried it, and applied a thin coat of oil to the bottom, using a lint free cloth. I put the pan in the oven and heated it for 30 minutes before turning it off. I had a seasoned sheet pan about 2 hours later. I used it to roast veggies and they didn't stick, and the pan wiped clean. I added a couple coats of oil and it is doing well. Do not put this pan in the dishwasher for the love of all things baked. If oil cooks on, it's ok. Don't scrub it off. The pan is very nice. I plan to keep this pan in my kitchen for a long time.

👤I found a quality sheet that fills my entire oven and is big enough for an entire package of bacon. Every time I buy the corresponding, I get perfectly cooked bacon. Clean-up is easy if you add a little foil. It costs a little more to get a quality cookware that doesn't warp or bend. I think it's worth it.

👤I was tired of the sheet pans flexing in the oven. I finally bought a Nordic Ware sheet pan. It is sturdy, shiny and so far, has not warped in the oven. It doesn't have a non-stick surface so you'll want to grease the pan or use parchment paper when you use it. It's easier to clean up that way. If you use a Brillo, steel wool or SOS pad, you will get scratches on the surface and won't have a perfect surface for a long time. This pan is a good one to recommend. It is important that this one is the right size for you.

👤I thought it was made in the US. I should have read the fine print on the description because it doesn't mean Americoat was applied in America. It's not a suggestion for baked-on food to wash with hot water, mild soap and gentle sponge. The small print on the package says "not dishwasher safe." "Made from globallysourced commercial grade and heavy gauge aluminized steel" is a small print on the package. The family may reside and do business in the USA, but they get these baking racks from China, because USA Pan is a Bundy family company which has manufactured high quality bakeware and provided jobs in the USA for over 50 years. The baking rack is made in the USA. It's not okay for a baking rack to be sold in the USA as a USA family product. It was very misleading.

I think the small grids will be a chore to clean after use. It's not steel, it's aluminum, and it has a grey tint from the beginning. It's better to use aluminum in the oven as it conducts heat more evenly than steel. I'm keeping it because of that. I was disappointed when it arrived, but I think it will serve its purpose.

It seems like it was misleading. Amazon should not be a "buyer-beware" platform. The dimensions are correct at 16.75 by 11.50 inches, which makes it fit in a half-sheet pan. I can't imagine it holding up to heavy usage. It is a lot lighter than other racks I have purchased.

The company name on the package is USAPans, which is a misconception since they aren't made here. Also, accuracy is important. I will keep them since I couldn't find this particular size. I would rather it look like junk. This product is completely different. It looks pretty and jazzed up. I noticed the panned had sprung up and warped when I used it. It was only 15 minutes into the oven. The large one was used a few days later. You just got 12 tons of manure and this product is more disappointing.

I was watching a cooking show and noticed that the chef used pans that were similar to this one to place everything in the oven from sandwiches to anything that needed baking or broiling. I had to try it out before buying it. I like to make quick meals during the week and most of the time I make it frozen. I live alone and a smaller pan made sense. When I am not feeling like cooking a whole meal, I like to toast sandwiches that are frozen and sometimes frozen food items. There were sandwiches, battered fish, shrimp, pizza rolls, French fries, and toast coconut. The list continues. The pan is large enough to hold one broiled sandwich or two pieces of fish, but small enough to not require a large metal sheet pan. It is lightweight and washes up well. I don't put bakeware with special finishes in the dishwasher and never allow my non-stick bakeware to soak overnight, because the listing advises to hand wash. That will cause a piece of bakeware to peel off. You have to buy one and try it out. The price makes this product practical and affordable. Redirect is a way to tell if the product is true.

👤This is to be used in my new air fryer oven. It is large enough to do multiple items. I spray the tray with oil to prevent it from sticking and line the pan with foil to make it easier to clean. The clean-up was easy.

👤I like this so much that I may get a third. Large, very sturdy. The pan is covered with a wire grid that is non-stick. I use it to make jerky, to cook bacon, to roast veggies, and so on. The first unit's wire grid was sturdy enough, but the second unit's grid is a bit thicker. It could be that it was a different supplier. These are very well designed. They can't be beat for the money. When you're done cooking, put some dish soap in the pan, fill it with water, and let it soak for a few minutes. Don't soak the grid for hours, it's not good for its non-stick finish. Then rinse the pan and both sides of the grid with a soft brush and put it away.

👤This product was pretty good. I have baked a lot of things with this pan/rack, and everything has turned out great. I have been using this almost everyday for about two months now, and it has never warped in or out of the oven. The highest temperature I have used it at was 450 F. Very strong. The wire rack is sturdy and can fit inside the pan no matter the temperature. It will scratch. - It will be hard to keep it sparkling. It has brown grease spots. The pan's edges are brown, but I use tin foil in the bottom to catch the juices. It is almost pointless to try and keep it clean, even though there must be a way to get those stains out. I am satisfied with how it performs in cooking my food. Which has been great! In regards to cleaning, I put the wire rack upside down in the pan and pour soapy water in it so that it will soak for at least 30 minutes. I take the wire rack into the sink and use a brush to clean it up, not a sponge or rubber. If you use a sponge scrubber, you can catch it on the edge of the rack and tear it. The brush will reach more areas than the sponge. If you don't care about your pan looking pretty, I would recommend you to get a new one. Good luck!

I didn't have a lot of doubts about the quality, but more of the size I was concerned about, but it fits about a pound and a half of thick cut bacon on here with no problem, and the rack holes are perfect for the bacon not to fall through! I am very pleased with this rack and look forward to many more. When shopping, the empty bacon bag is included.

👤I really wanted to use this product. I was washing for the second time. I washed it when I received it, but didn't use it until I was ready to use it. I wiped the paper towel on the soap I used. The video shows something coming off the tray as I was drying the sheet. I don't think it's food safe to me. I threw away the package I was stuck with.

👤I used this to cook a turkey. The bird turned out well. I received this item and it appears to be bent/warped. The pan is in the middle. I kept it because I needed it to entertain my guests the next day. After the very first use, there were a lot of spots of discoloration that appeared after cleaning.

👤When I picked it up, I was surprised by its heft. It felt heavy so I got a magnet and verified it was aluminum. I think the heft is due to two things. The pan itself is a heavy gage aluminum with a nice robust beaded edge, and within the rolled edge bead my magnet detected what could be a heavy steel wire. A steel wire inside the edge is likely to help stiffen the pan. I'm very pleased with this pan so far. I'll adjust the review once I get used to it.

👤This product is great for making bacon in the oven. The meat is elevated high off the pan so the hot air can get under the bacon and grease can be removed. It works perfectly in my pan of 10 x 15.

👤I put the rack and pan in the fridge to allow the salt to work its magic, and bought this to place my raw meat on for seasoning. The sides of the pan are lower than a restaurant style sheet pan, which is why I am using a jelly roll pan. The rack is a bit higher than a typical sheet rack. 👤I'm using these with shallow pans with a mat in the bottom. These are very well made and sit high enough above the mat in the bottom of the pan to allow hot air to circulate that cooks all surfaces. It's a good idea to spray the rack with oil before baking or roasting because the grid is quite close. Our Breville toaster oven can be used with the combination of the pan, silicone mat and the SS rack.

👤It's easy to cook meat and veggies so that the food doesn't have to sit in grease while not having to worry about stuff falling in between the cracks. If you don't get the food to be clean after cooking, you could be picking at it for a while.
