Best Baking Rings 8 Inch

👤If the manufacturing process has changed recently, I can't understand how many people gave positive reviews. The item I received is very flimsy and can fall off easily. The cheap plastic that doesn't keep its spring grip on the two mounting ring holes is the worst part. It falls apart when you lift it up. The design is stupid because when the four rings are assembled together there still remains a big gap between the bottom of the rings and the pan so any semi-liquid material like raw egg or pancake mix leaks out until it solidifies. The handle gets in the way if you start with a very hot skillet and pour in a little at a time. If someone could come up with a well thought out design that would work, it would be a great concept. These are junk. I threw mine away.

👤I could tell it was an inferior product when I received the box. I usually like my purchases on Amazon, but this one is not. The photo appears to be a cast iron item. Not true. It is in six pieces. The plastic handle stays in. Disappointed for sure. It looks like it came from the dollar store. Ripoff. I will return it for a better quality.

👤What a piece of art. I picked up the package on a Saturday and used it for the first time on Sunday, but the non-stick surface is a lie. The eggs were stuck to the ring. I had to "shove" the eggs out, trying to hold on to the plastic handle and keep the egg over the cooking pan. After cooking the eggs, I left a lot of the egg stuck to the rings and set the rings aside to assess. The way the rings are attached uses a square piece of metal with the corners "pinched" so the rings can be attached. There is no way to pick up the rings with the handle and keep them together. If you twist the handle after attaching the rings, it will draw the rings together. They won't stay together. The plastic where it snaps into the metal is melted since the handle is plastic. I was ready to throw the suckers after the handle melted, the rings had egg stuck all over them, and I was ready to throw the suckers. I know my way around the kitchen and tools. I'm very careful and the person people call to fix or assemble things. During the holiday season, I'm the house to which people come for a great meal. This product is not worth much.

👤I used my new electric griddle to cook eggs, but the handle melted and fell into the eggs. The handle is melted on both ends. I had to clean the melted plastic off the griddle after eggs were ruined. The handle doesn't resist heat long before melting. This is a design issue. I would not buy this product again.

This product was the most affordable, it came on time, the packaging was secure, and the ring is sturdy. I was able to use it with minimal effort. It worked great for my cake, as I forgot to take a photo before I took off the ring, but it came up over the bottom two layers and held everything together until it was time to serve. Because the ring is changeable, cake can get between the metal layers, so you have to clean it. The ring size adjustment can be accomplished with the help of the clamp, but it requires you to hold it just right, which earns it a solid 4 stars. The seller is my biggest pet peeve. The seller will bombard you with emails after you buy the product, trying to get you to review it. It makes me nervous that the product isn't really any good and I don't understand why they are trying so hard. I think it's a good cake ring for an amateur baker like myself, and it's worthy of a review on its own merits, not because the seller is pushy.

It is less than the minimum requirement of 12 cm. They can't be accurate in their descriptions so people don't buy the wrong thing. We know exactly what the measurement is if we put 16 cm - 30 cm. It was frustrating.

In the episode of "Cake", the contestants made the most beautiful cake using a cake mold and cellophane so that the finished product was a cake with its beautiful layers of custard and fruit were visible on all sides. I was inspired to bake my granddaughter a cake like that. I found a perfect cake mold on Amazon that is extendable or collapsible, depending on the size of cake one wants to make. The mold served its purpose well and the cake turned out perfectly. I bought a mold that will allow me to make the size of cake I want, rather than having to go out and find a pan. I am very happy with the outcome of my purchase, it was a great investment, well constructed, easy to use, and easy to clean.

👤I bought this item to try out the masking technique for cakes, and I am very happy that you can adjust it so easily. I was worried that the circle might not be round when I adjusted the diameter for bigger cakes. I masked a seven inch and 10 inch cake and the clear and sharp edges spoke for themselves. The cake ring should have sheets inside. It works well for taller cakes when used with acetate sheets. Highly recommend it for its ease of use and hassle free cleaning.

👤Florentines would look more like normal round cookies than sunny side up eggs if baking molds were used. The last batches worked despite some trial and error. The pressers don't always fit and sometimes go down without a sound and the edges are not always right. Don't rule out a light greasing for easy removal, and don't expect all the rings to be perfectly round, a few. I just don't know what I can do with the pressers, I bought 2 sets and am pretty happy with them.

I had to use a knife to try and get my food items. They messed up the edges after coming out, but had pre-greasing the rings. These are made from folding a sheet and tack-joining the edge, not from a circular hollow cylinder. The food and juices can enter the joint and make your cuisine look distorted. Between use, be prepared to clean these thoroughly. I am worried that these joints may rust over time. The product was well packaged.

My filling got on my pie crust as it cooked because of the weight of the Silicon on my filling. The fire alarm was set off and it caused a horrible smell. Some of my pie filling was with them when I took them off. I prefer my crust to be cooked. I went back to my foil routine for my next set of pies. I think the protectors would work better for a pie with a crust on top.

👤Silicone pie crust savers are much easier to use than foil. The only reason I bought these was because they were flexible and my new pie plates were a bit bigger than the ones I started with. I've been making the same pumpkin pies for years and have never burned them. Until tonight. The night before Thanksgiving. I will return them as soon as possible. These are not good. The reviews were good so I'd try them. They centered the heat on the crust and caused my oven to smoke and my smoke alarms to go off, waking up our neighbors at 11pm.

👤These seemed like a good idea. Wrong! If your pie plates have handles on them, these don't cover the entire crust, they are floppy. Set the piece of foil on the pie gently, but carefully. It works like a charm. The GoodWill box has these crust protectors in it.

👤I reheated a pie last night. It was difficult to fit the latch. I put it on the edge of the pie after that. When I took the pie out of the oven the protection fell off. It is very soft and may have expanded. I wanted to make sure the pie was in the oven. I had to give up because the ring was on the floor. It's too soft to be useful.

It's difficult to work with foil, it's hard to manipulate it to stay. It's easier to use the simple end connector to hold together the wrap around edges. It is very hard to wrap a hot pie in foil because it is not easy to work with. You just pull out the rack with the pie, wrap the edges around the pie, and secure them, no pressing, pinching, or any other maneuvering. I like them.

👤I used a Silicone crust shield and made a 9” chicken pot pie. The edge crust is usually burnt in order to have the top crust the color and doneness that I like, but now I can have it all! I tried to mold strips of aluminum foil around the edge, but it might not stay on. This is very easy to use and clean up. This product is very good.

👤The pan was used a second time. I washed the pan before using it, and it came out great. After washing the pan, and using it a couple weeks later, the pan formed RUST because water got stuck in the bottom fold. The Rust leaked into the crust. The second use of this pan is in photos. I don't know how to remove the water from the bottom fold so it won't rust. The non-stick layer came off my cheesecake. I used a plastic utensil to remove the cake from the pan and the film came off and ruined it. I was very disappointed and returned the pan.

👤My mother is a baker par excellence and had been using an aluminum springform for 40 years. After being knocked around for so long, it finally began to leak. It was necessary to replace it and it needed to be good. After reading the reviews, I tried this one but held off on my own review until Mom made a dessert. She said the pan was perfect. It's perfect if she says so.

👤The pan's bottom design is not right. The lip on the bottom section almost forces you to install it in the ring, rather than down. This will make you destroy your cheese cake to get it out of the pan. I have been making 9" cheesecakes for a long time. I give them as gifts. My daughter's wedding was the one where I baked them. I decided to go with 10 cakes because my 9 pans were worn out and the USPS frozen them for 10 cakes. You should keep looking.

👤I wanted a way to make fresh pizzas at home that I could control the calories in, but I couldn't find a way to do that until I found these pans. I buy the freshly made pizza dough in the bakery section at the grocery store, divide it into 6 equal parts, let it warm up to room temperature, then I spread it with my fingers into one of the pans which I lightly oiled, and then roll out each piece on a board and The last step is your choice, and you can pile it on without worry of a mess since the springboard pans keep everything nicely contained and easy to remove after baking. Then eat 18 minutes later in the 400 degree oven or wrap in foil and place in a freezer storage bag. The calories are not very high if you shop at the grocery store. I use multigrain. I can make and bake pizzas at the same time with the 6 pans I have. These pans are easy to use and it's great to have fresh pizzas made at home.

👤Good pan. Excellent quality. There were never any problems with leaking. I was not happy with how shallow it is. I can only fit a pound of meat in the pan for some recipes. Many of the 7inch pans are 3” deep. This one has a huge difference in volume and cook times. I prefer the spring form over trying to push a bottom out. It's something to consider for your personal purchase needs.

I like the new quality. It is round and doesn't bend under pressure. I will be buying pastry rings from this company in the future. Excellent pastry rings. I fixed the oblong shaped rings by pressing on both sides of the ring until they fit my circular mixing bowls.

👤I use it to make burgers. Don't smash the meat into the mold, use a light touch. You can make a bunch of them and freeze them, they will go right on the grill or in the pan. The 5 inch mold is perfect for patties. If you want to make burgers this way, I recommend it.
