It sticks well to my table where my old one slid around, and it is thicker as well. If you use cookie cutters with it, it says not to cut on it. This is a soft surface and not much pressure will be needed to stamp out cookies. It is easy to clean with its surface.

The measurement markings on the mat are very useful, from pie crust sizing to lined length markings, and even imperial to metric conversions, so I suppose you can use it as a measurement mat. The pastry mat is very thin. I don't plan to slice anything on this, but I quickly learned how difficult it was to wash the mat due to it's large size and flimsy thickness. I have an extra large kitchen sink, which makes it difficult to wash. It works as advertised and is a great value compared to other mats.
