Best Baking Soda for Cooking

👤I bought it because of the good reviews, however, there is a print on the back of it that says "Partially produced with genetic engineering". I didn't try it. I'm not going to. I can't return, but that's another story. If you're trying to eat healthy and avoid all the toxins in mass-produced food, you shouldn't buy it.

👤I was hosting dinner and needed baking powder for a recipe but the 2 grocery stores in my town were both out so of course I decided to buy some baking powder so I didn't have to travel to the next town over... Sadly... It's not the same as I usually get. Maybe it was sitting on the warehouse shelf for a long time, but the top of the can had a little rust on it, which I thought was weird. The baking soda turned out fine, but I think I used the wrong brand. Maybe my package was new. I would wait to buy it in store if I needed it again.

👤Baking powder is a hidden source of sodium in food. I have found a baking powder that is 100% successful. My husband is happy that he can occasionally have a biscuit without me making him aware of the high level.

This baking powder is only reduced in salt, but it still has half the amount of regular stuff. It's still pricey, but manageable, and so far works well.

👤Remwood Products, thank you! It's a miracle to find a soap that doesn't contain palm oil. Palm oil is used in soaps and other products you may think are "earth-friendly." It's bad enough trying to avoid it in food, but it's hard to find products like toothpaste, soap, sunscreen, and conditioner. Without it. It's in almost all cleaning products. Thank you for offering a Palm Oil Free product, we love Grandma's Baking Soda Soap. The bar has a good composition and gets the job done. People commented on the price. Other soaps are less expensive because of the cheap palm oil. The soap is free of palm oil. If you air dry it, it will last a long time. It lasted for a long time. We put it on a soap stand. "Palm Oil Free" should be on your label. Thank you again, no other companies are. I don't have an affiliation with this company. I use products without palm oil.

👤I've been using just plain baking soda and water to wash my hair and body for over a year and it seems to work. I thought a baking soda bar soap would be better. I tried Grandma's because it had no lye in it. I was not sure. I like it. I only use it once a week and only on my hair. My problem is that most soaps and washes make my hair break out in the bumps. I haven't had a problem with baking soda since I stopped with that stuff. I'm retired and living off of savings, so I wish this stuff was cheaper. I will not be buying many of them.

They were the only family in town who took care of everyone else. I was surprised by the health benefits of baking soda that I found when I researched it. It has to do with the pH in your body. Its cheap. I would give it a try. I feel more comfortable using a high quality organic baking soda. My husband and sister-in-law are also on board. My sister-in-law has a failing organ. She read where this is supposed to slow the progression of the disease. She wished she had read that sooner. Is it simple? We are giving it a try. After all. A lot of over the counter cold and flu meds contain this ingredient. We have been making a cocktail of half a packet of lemon drink, baking soda, and organic pure vitamins C and D, as well as 4 ounces of clean water. It has a salty taste.

👤I use this baking soda to soothe diaper rash, and it's free of food coloring. The combination of 1 heaping of soda with 1 heaping cup of salt in the hottest water you can handle will naturally cleanse the body. I did the "hot baths" for my kids all through winter last year and they were able to ward off nasty colds and never caught the flu even though it went around twice! Highly recommend this product.

👤I only use baking soda when brushing my teeth now that my dentist has converted to the benefits of brushing with only high quality baking soda. The product stays in our bathroom and is poured into a container for travel. I'm happy that the bag is re-sealable and I'm satisfied with the quantity and price. If you're new to brushing, here's a brief how-to. If you touch the baking soda to your gums, you will get a brief flash of salt taste and content. Don't swallow. You should wash your brush or bristles. It's up to you whether you rinse your mouth or not. You will notice a difference.

👤I put this on my counter for four days and then I had time to put it in my spice cabinet and it was completely covered in white flour mites. Have you ever seen a container of something? It was nasty! The pests reproduce like crazy, and had already spread to the back of my oven, my S & P, the above-stove microwave, and my spice cabinet. To clean and ensure their demise, I had to freeze all of my spices, clean my kitchen at least once daily for two weeks, and throw out several jars of spices that had been used. I will never buy spices online again.

👤I don't know what the difference is between the two products. They might be changing the labels for the 14-ounce containers. If you need a lot of ground cumin seeds, you can get it from McCormick. I don't need this much for my household and should have known better than to purchase a bottle that deteriorated quickly, but the price was great when I purchased this bottle, and since three of us were sharing its contents, it made sense. We use a lot of cumin alone and in home-prepared blends so this gave us an ample supply at a fraction of the cost of smaller bottles. Is it as good as Penzeys Spices ground cumin? Possibly. Is it as good as the cumin seeds I bought at a local Indian market and ground myself when I ran out of Penzeys Spices? Better.

👤This brand of spice is fresh and potent, and this size is an extremely good value, shared with two friends do far. I had to vacuum seal the container because it smelled like cumin. The container didn't seal well enough.
