They are so close to the edges that I thought I would apply grout on them. When you line two of these tiles up together, you create a channel for your grout to stick in, or as a baking stone, your slack dough to ooze straight into, and through. When a loaf of bread is placed on a tile in the 475F oven, it doesn't stay hot enough to set the bottom because the tiles are too lightweight. New tiles vs old stone is the second picture. You have to spray water on the bread and oven walls at intervals and they don't hold the temperature. If you have a stuck loaf, don't worry, the oven door will open. You have to unstick the loaves when they get stuck. Try to finish baking sourdough in an oven that has cooled to 275F on tiles that are no longer hot enough since the oven is already open and losing heat at 100F degrees per 5 seconds. Three days of work done. Twice. I apologize for not having pictures of that. I tried to save the bread. I tried to use the baking tiles to cook some pizza, but I couldn't find anything nice to say about them. I put the oven in the oven for an hour. My pizza was stuck to the tile, and at 7.5" x 7.5", one tile isn't big enough to hold a regular slice of pizza. I would return them.
