👤I was looking for an oven stone to bake bread in. I bought it because I saw it on prime day. I think it is great. It is a nice size oven stone. There was no off gassing from this stone. I wiped it down with a dry cloth. Before heating it up, it should be completely dry. It shouldn't be seasoned either. I heated it up to 250 for 30 minutes and then raised it to 450 for an hour to burn off fumes but there was no off gassing. I've used it to make a few pizzas. Food items can be thrown away. I heated this stone in my oven for over an hour without any problems. It takes time to heat up. It's probably not heating the stone up long enough for people to complain about pizzas not being cooked in the middle. I put the stone in my cold and turned the heat up to get it to go to that temp, then left it there for about an hour. Then I cook my homemade pizza at 500 degrees and then turn the temp down to 400. Pizza dough was very good and very firm. This stone is perfect for an oven stone. Give your stone enough time to come up to temp. I would suggest you heat it up for an hour after the oven reaches a certain temperature.

I washed it with plain water. When I pressed the steel sink against the stone chip, I saw the corners. I should handle it with care as it is a brittle stone. Yes, the stone is discolored. I don't see how that is the stone's fault. The space on both sides is the same. I'll use one side of the pizza to make it brown because it will have burnt cheese, spilled sauce and other things. My wife is making bread. I don't know if this will help. She'll have a clean slate without my mess. I would buy it again. I have increased my pizza baking from using cookie sheets because of the great size. If I could only learn how to use a peel.

👤My ex-wife got a large pampered chef stone when I started out. I looked at a stone that was not worth much. I stumbled across this stone while looking for a replacement and it was a lucky accident. This thing is large. It won't fit in my oven. It's a good size. I've eaten pizza on it so far. I also make biscuits, cinnamon rolls and bread on this stone, and I haven't found anything that wouldn't work on it. I found a slot in my cookie sheet cabinet where I could clean up easily. This stone is going to be a premium product that will last.

👤I replaced one of the thin-ish round pizza stones that you'd find at a typical grocery store with this. The old one was double the thickness and I feel pretty sure it won't crack like this one. When I first got this, I baked it at a higher temperature than my old stone, which made the odor that comes with these things when they're new and again, unlike my old stone, go away. The old stone was not nice when it was new. If you're coming from a thinner stone, you'll need to spend more time in the oven before it's "pre-heated." Calibration is going to be done. I put the first pizza in too early and it didn't cook the way I wanted it to. The second of the two that I cooked after the stone had more time to heat up was perfect. The pizza peel is on the small side, but it is one solid piece, which is great. The two-piece peels make me uneasy when I'm making the transfer. I'm not worried about this one breaking.

The kitchen smelled like diesel fumes when I started preheating the stone in the oven. I was hoping it would go away quickly. No, it did not. The included pizza peel made me pick these stones among others that were almost the same type and cost. It is too small and thick to be worth anything. It wouldn't hold a baguette and it wouldn't hold a personal size pizza. It wouldn't be possible to slip it under anything. The stone is worth something.

👤Miniature pizzas that are 6 inches in diameter might work out for you. It's not going to happen to cook a proper 10-14 inch pizza. The pizza stone needs to be closer to 15x15 than it is to 15x12 because of the tiny peel. The stone will cause a mess on the bottom of the oven. If you have space restrictions in your oven that is the only time this will work out.

The setup requires that the extender become aware of your router so that it can extend your signal. The booklet that comes in the box with the device has a page titled 'Connect with Web Browser Setup'. The photo is attached. Step 3 tells you to click on the New Extender Setup button on the page. You are on a page that looks like a NETGEAR page, but there is no new info on the extenders or a support chat. I am amused and surprised at how bad this support is, but not suspicious, until shady tech calls. He tries to trick me into giving him access to my computer by pretending to be a legit tech company. Is that true? He tried to defend his actions after I confronted him. The origin of this transaction was the NETGEAR Quick Start Booklet, so I was not on my guard. I am pretty sure lots of people get hooked on this and see The Sept 2018 1 star review telling the same story. NETGEAR is not a legit tech company as they do not know this is happening. Amazon is responsible for some things. Do you want to avoid NETGEAR products? I tried a number of ways to get in contact with someone at NETGEAR, but it was not possible. I went in circles for over an hour. If you still want to buy NETGEAR, read the 6-14-19 review by Chu, 9-23-18 by Miller, 6-11-19 Monteith, 2-21-19 Hughes or 10-5-18 with 'Beware' in title. One person says that SCAM tech support left them with a non-functional PC.

👤The 2.4g channel has stopped working on all devices after about 9 months of light use. After 90 days, they want you to pay for support, so they only offer complimentary support on this product. I found several posts with the same problem after researching this issue online. The settings are correct after a factory reset and a firmware update. A paid subscription is required to get a return authorization number, which can only be obtained through technical support. This doesn't seem right. I would not buy this product, but I will definitely consider other manufacturers for future purchases.

👤I use this item 2x per week for 45 days. I don't know if it beats my stone for bread baking, but there's room for 2 loaves. I can say that it was significantly worse. I only wiped the crumbs off after making bread. I decided to clean it because it spilled on top of something else. I only used tap water. I put it back into the oven and it was completely encased in rust. I used a combo of water and water-based liquid to remove the rust. The pictures are not finished. This is made of steel. I'm aware that it contains iron. The rust should be prevented by the presence of the chromium, Molybdenum or whatever. It wasn't soaking in hot acidic water. It was wiped clean. There was no response from "Nerd Chef" one week later. Even without water, the rust is still there. Unless I'm interested in rust in my diet, I can't use this item. Do not buy.

👤Don't buy if you're warned. The oven should be set to BROIL and the door open to maximize the heat in it. When I put this pizza steel in place, it tripped my oven's thermal fuse and rendered it useless until a replacement part could be found.

👤I bought the 16 lbs of steel to make pizza. The book No Gluten, No Problem Pizza (Bronski) recommended using steel instead of stone. I could not be happier. The crust is perfect. This steel allows me to do a perfect thin-crust pizza every time. I only use water and a scrubber. The steel is showing some wear. I don't take the steel out of the oven when not in use. My wife's quick bread has improved because of the extra thermal mass of that huge steel plate. We never got right caramelized baked onions. The steel makes a huge difference in heating the onions, so there is no change to the onion baking recipe. The item was well packaged. I would definitely order from NerdChef again.

👤I had to think about whether or not I should spend more money to get something a little thicker after I bought this one. It has helped in cooking pizza and bread. It takes about 45 minutes to get fully heated. Do you buy 1/2 or 5/16? If I had bought the heavier 5/16, my wife would not have been able to lift it because it was too heavy.

👤NerdChef created this pizza steel. It's a little more expensive than conventional pizza stones. If properly cared for, it will last a lifetime and give better results. I bought the.25 version and it's heavy. If you want to go with the thicker model, don't let me stop you, but I can only say that the.25 works really well, gives me a delicious, crisp and brown bottom every time, and is not too difficult to maneuver. I'm not sure if it's worth it if you add in the extra weight. The results have been great for me. It transfers heat to your pizza more efficiently than a stone. I have never had an issue with the steel cooling down while cooking pizzas. As soon as I am, it's ready to go again. You don't have to worry about it cracking, like a pizza stone eventually will, as an added bonus. This think is built like a tank and can take a lot of things. Don't let it stay wet, dry it thoroughly, and it will serve you well. If you let it rust, it can be re-seasoned and be a good new thing. This thing will last a lifetime and then some. The NerdChef pizza steel is very good. It's a game-changer if you make pizza in a home oven or grill.

👤The tiles were clean and on time, but they felt a bit rough to the touch. I wanted to try some bread. I ordered the tiles because they could be arranged to fit the loaves. Baking real sourdough takes three days to make a single loaf, not counting how long it took to start my own sourdough starter. Baking bread is very labor intensive. Imagine delivering a loaf of bread to the oven. I opened the oven to turn the loaves end for end to promote baking, but my loaves were stuck. The tiles have a bad design, if one small design flaw can make a product terrible. The first picture. These people may have taken unfinished floor tiles and marketed them for baking. They are so close to the edges that I thought I would apply grout on them. When you line two of these tiles up together, you create a channel for your grout to stick in, or as a baking stone, your slack dough to ooze straight into, and through. When a loaf of bread is placed on a tile in the 475F oven, it doesn't stay hot enough to set the bottom because the tiles are too lightweight. New tiles vs old stone is the second picture. You have to spray water on the bread and oven walls at intervals and they don't hold the temperature. If you have a stuck loaf, don't worry, the oven door will open. You have to unstick the loaves when they get stuck. Try to finish baking sourdough in an oven that has cooled to 275F on tiles that are no longer hot enough since the oven is already open and losing heat at 100F degrees per 5 seconds. Three days of work done. Twice. I apologize for not having pictures of that. I tried to save the bread. I tried to use the baking tiles to cook some pizza, but I couldn't find anything nice to say about them. I put the oven in the oven for an hour. My pizza was stuck to the tile, and at 7.5" x 7.5", one tile isn't big enough to hold a regular slice of pizza. I would return them. I discarded the packaging when I received them, and I wouldn't want anyone to receive the tiles I returned in a new box because it's just disgusting. I was glad I didn't get rid of the stone.

👤I didn't have the change to use them, but I wanted to point out things for people like me. They are perfect for a standard oven. They are easy to store and don't weigh much. I've seen videos on the internet about how to season a pizza stone. Do not do that. The oil is burning at a high temperature and making a lot of smoke which will smell bad on the house for days. I didn't know how to stop the smoke and it was like I've lit up a big torch, until I took the stones out from the house. I ordered a new set of stones. The second warning was that the stones needed to be washed with a dish soap. This is a big mistake since the stone will absorb the soap and emit it whenever you use it. It won't crack if it's left to dry because the high temperature changes.

I might have to buy one of those to have on hand in case I misplace this one. There is one last note. I had a stone that gave off an awful smell and I thought it would go away. I threw that stone after it didn't work. I was worried about buying another stone and dealing with odors again. This one did not give off a smell. I didn't think of that until I wrote this review. This pizza stone is very good.
