There is still a gap. You can cook meat and veggies perfectly all the way through with your cooker, but there is a step at the end. There is still a gap between what a fancy steak restaurant can do for you for $150 and what you can do at home for 15 bucks. I quickly realized that pan searing alone only gets you so far. A good torch like this one will give you a deep, rich flavor and texture that is out of reach when you're stuck with a frying pan. You don't have to sear at such a high pan temperature. With a torch, you can sear and a medium high temp, developing a more robust crust, and finishing off all sides of the meat with the torch flame. Even the fanciest steak houses can't touch it. Imagine buying some USDA Prime tomahawk ribeye and lobster tail, and eating a nice dinner with wine or champagne at home for a special occasion. She can get flowers, jewelry, or other gifts to make her feel special. The main course costs five times what you'd pay at a fancy restaurant, and the food outcome is better. If you're still questioning the value of using a torch to sear your cook, close the stupid gap and get yourself a good kitchen torch. This is the best pork I've ever had, and I've used this thing three times in the last three days to finish off pork loin. It's easy to use and maintain, and it's worth the $20 asking price. If you still have doubts, you can always watch a video on how to use the torches. You can get a standard $5 canister of butane at Home Depot or Lowes. I was able to set aside enough money to eat well even though I was broke and trying to finance a video game company on a teensy income. You don't need to spend a lot of money to solve your torch issues. It only costs you $20 These guys earned a 5 star review for being a satisfied customer.

👤I bought these a year or so ago, and have been using them almost weekly for muffins - I loved the convenience and fun colors. They have a smell when baking and have a soapy taste. I was reading a cookbook over the weekend and it said that you can use Silicone baking cups, but be sure to choose 100% Silicone products, other products not only are less effective but also tend to smell. It's a bad word! I noticed that the "food grade Silicone" was not the same as " 100% food grade Silicone" when I looked at my order. There are other things in there. The discussions around the pinch test weren't in the reviews back then. I've ordered different ones that say they are 100% silicone because these will be going in the trash. I wonder what I've been eating for the past year. If you haven't bought them yet, why risk it?

👤I used these for making homemade lotion bars. The bars looked nice with the crinkled edges. A friend gave me a recipe for Body Butter Bars, which are made with cocoa butter and virgin coconut oil. Combine ingredients in a heat resistant jar or measuring cup and melt in a pan filled with a couple of inches of water on low/medium heat. Remove the molds when the melted lotion is set until hardened. They smell like coconut, honey and chocolate when rubbed on the skin.

👤I bought these for the non stick properties and was disappointed. You can see that even muffins leave a mess that needs to be cleaned. I wanted them to be able to cook eggs in the oven. They were super-stick, not non-stick. It took me 15 minutes to clean the cups after they had been in the water for an hour. If I had made a regular muffin tin and soaked it for an hour, it would only take me 5 minutes to clean them, so why would I ever use them? The ridges on the muffin tin make it easier to clean. I don't understand the rave reviews. These are bright and colorful, but I use a muffin tin because it is more eco-friendly and less frustrating.

I have come up with many more uses. They will be great for keeping junk in a drawer, keeping snacks separate in Tupperware, and holding the cup in a jeep wrangler for skinny cans. I think it would be great to put vitamins and pills in children and the elderly. Their bright color makes it easy to remember to take them, and their soft sides make it easy to grab pills. All in great value, but not in the way I was expecting.

👤These are substandard products according to others. After using 350 for making English muffins, both of mine have become useless. The last batches stuck badly, and the silicone appears to have been transferred to the high-end baking pans. Attached are photos. These mats were only used for a short time before they deteriorated and ruined a baking project.

👤The baking mats are great. The quality is excellent and the price is good. I use them for everything in the oven. You name it, it's from oven pizzas. I love that they help protect my baking sheets by helping food slide off the non stick surface. It is also very convenient to just wipe them clean or put them in the top shelf of the dishwasher. You can cut off 1/3 of the paper towel roll to use as a holder, and just roll up the mats and slip inside the ring for easy storage of the mats in a drawer. I highly recommend them. We use these mats almost daily and I have had them for almost a year. They look brand new. I have not had any issues with mats becoming worn or staining. I use them to cook most items at up to 450 degrees but have not had any issues with them so far. I drape them over my cups in the top rack of the dishwasher and then when dry roll them up and slip a napkin ring or rings cut from and empty paper towel roll into a drawer so they fit easily into a drawer. These things are fantastic and have paid for themselves many times over in the superior non stick surface, ease of clean up and the cost of parchment paper and or aluminum foil I used prior to discovering them.

👤I spoke with an Amazon customer service representative and was told that they would escalate the issue to have it addressed and possibly amend the product review. I am surprised that they didn't offer a refund on the product, but I think the most important thing is to see if they address the fire and safety issue at its root. There is an update on 11/11/18. One reviewer stated that these are not good for use above 400 degrees F. The mat was smoking when I opened the oven after putting it in the oven. This was the mat itself, no oils or anything applied to it. I changed my review to one star and will be requesting a refund from Amazon. This is a danger. I've been trying to reduce my carbon footprint so I was looking for an eco-friendly alternative to aluminum foil to line my baking sheets. The mats were the ticket. They fit perfectly on my baking trays. These are even better than aluminum foil because I don't have to use oil to make them non-stick! I can cook even better. I will recommend this to my friends.

They are not easy to clean, and when I put them in my draining rack they don't dry properly, and they get water spots on them. I don't like it very much. It makes them look dirty but they are strong and stretchy. I will give a caveat that they tend to rip at the seams, but I will recommend them.

Over time they weaken and stain. The bags are light and easy to grip. When trimming the end to use larger tips or couplers, there is some stretch to them, which took a little getting used to. I recommend cutting a bit less than you measure because the silicone will expand slightly and you might end up pushing your tips straight through. I've used these bags many times and have no complaints. They are dishwasher-safe and can be used again. A great product!

It is not safe to use vinyl in the production of food. The human body has a substance in it. It can easily enter food. Food preparation is not allowed in many states. 👤They work well. I have used disposable bags. These are thicker than disposable bags so there is no chance of tearing with thicker icing. They are easy to clean. They are strong enough to dry on the large end. They hold up well with all the goodies. I used the 16" ones to pipe choux paste.

👤Very disappointed. It came apart at the seam. I used it the night before. It was washed. The next night, when it was ready to use again, it was found with a giant hole in it. I used a consistency of whipped cream that was not a lot of pressure on it. I wonder if it was sealed with glue. Will have to wait and see what happens.

👤I like the feeling of the bags that are made of washable piping and use them almost exclusively. They are thinner and more supple, but that also contributes to their vulnerability. One bag had a hole before I washed it. The blue bags have not been stained by certain colors. I would recommend these if you like the idea of using disposable bags. I wash mine in the washing machine. I use two cycles to turn them inside out and remove any trace of greasiness from buttercream. I put them in the dryer.

👤I make cinnamon rolls for the neighbors. They are very messy to make. Each recipe makes three balls of dough to roll out. After each ball of dough, I would clean my countertop. It was a chore. I have been looking for a board that my mother made them on. This makes it so easy to clean up. The ruler lines helped me a lot. I would line the roll up and then cut it in half. Use to eyeball it. I don't know how I was able to live without this for so long. I'm looking forward to using this for pie crusts. If you don't bake, this silicone mat will make it much easier to do things on the counter. Put a T towel over it to dry after washing it off. You're done if you roll up.

👤I inspected them all after they arrived. I didn't look at the box, but the pans are of a good quality and the set is intact. The loaf pan that I wanted to have the double loaf option when baking, is a little smaller than my standard glass loaf pan, measuring 9 by 4 by 2.5 tall, and my glass one is the same except it is 5 by 5. I'm fine with that because it means more loaves from that pan and I'm not worried about it breaking. The other pans are also great. If you are hungry for more, you can eat another muffin or two, even if it's not the giants they sell at the market. The pan with the shallow cups and curved bottoms is a great pan for smaller muffins or egg bites. The round and square cake pans seem sturdy enough to hold their shape when filled and are a safe alternative to glass. I always recommend setting them on a cookie sheet before filling them, as they don't have the rigidity to be moved into the oven when filled. I haven't baked with them yet, so can't weigh in on the aspect, but I expect no issues with the spatula and brush. They had a colorful set of measuring spoons. After a long time trying to locate and choose a decent set with the pieces I really needed and wanted, I decided to use them regularly. I am very happy that I ordered this set. This would make a great starter set for a new baker, a great housewarming gift for someone who enjoys baking, or a wedding gift for a new couple starting out. An excellent, diverse and good quality essential baking set is a great value. Silicone can absorb odors, such as when making a loaf of bread. Silicone can absorb soap smells, so I always suggest hand- washing with an unscented soap and avoiding putting them in the dishwasher for this reason. If you find that your Silicone items have retained odors, you can use the "eliminate silicone smells bake" and follow the directions to get them refreshed again. Don't try this before you read the directions. Silicone is the only material you can use for this process. I tried baking a cake with a sticky batter in the cake pan without the quick oil spray I usually use and it left a sticky layer on the pan that I didn't like cleaning. I like a spray of oil if I am making something that is non-sticky a la sous vide. Baking items come out easily and pans are easy to clean with a quick wipeout. Even if you brush on a little oil with a paper towel, it's quick and easy to get it stuck. I always suggest a spray before baking.

👤I loved them for a few months. I don't need to grease my pans because I use less oil in my cooking. It's easy to clean and great for the environment. I don't buy wax paper or tin foil just to use it once.

👤The All-Clad Silicon 5-piece Kitchen Tools are very well-constructed and can stir, scoop, or scraper just about anything. They cost more than others, but they will last forever. I've gotten tired of having wooden handles get rough or splintering the minute liquid touches them, or the Silicon tool part falling off at the wrong time, not that there's a right time to lose the tip of a spatula into the food. The handles on this set are strong enough to hold thick batter and ingredients. They're slim enough to fit into a utensil holder on your counter. The spatula tips are strong. Shapes and sizes are what I like. I wish they came in colors, but I now realize they will survive many "color fads" in kitchens, and because they're black, they'll always fit in. I've converted my entire collection of cookware to All-Clad, and after drooling over the spatulas on Amazon, I finally bought them. No regrets at all. None. They are a great addition to my kitchen and live up to All-Clad's quality standards.

👤I can't believe that I'm the only one who has said that. They're not what you'd expect, so you have to twist your wrist or the handle feels strange, because they're not what you'd expect. Maybe it's me. I've had these for over a month and it still feels wrong. The spatulas have a nice level of flexibility, but I wish the big spoon was bigger and the top was more flat. It's too flat in the center to be used as a spoon and too rounded at the top to stir the pan well. I wouldn't buy the set again.

👤I was surprised to see that the parts are not black at all, but rather a deep dark charcoal grey. They seem to be sturdy and looking forward to using them. The metal handles have a flat surface where they meet the silicone and then over the length of the handle the flatness rotates 90 degrees, giving a completely different grip at the end. Interesting design. The product was floating in a bubble envelope with no padding and it was in a flimsy box. It's good that they're so strong that anything else could have been crushed.

👤It took me a while to figure it out but now that I know how to use them, they are much easier to use. I put tylose powder in my fondant, pushed it in the mold, and then stuck it in the fridge for about five minutes. I let the mold slide out on its own after flipping it inside. It wouldn't lose its shape. I added more petals to some of the roses. Very happy with how it turned out!

👤I decided the best way to remove excess was to put it in and put it in the freezer for 10 minutes. You can trim them with a razor knife after they pop out. It takes several tries to learn how to turn it inside out. They had many nice things to say.

👤It is a simple rose mold that looks good. I haven't had any issues with air bubbles in the petals of the flowers. The finished project is easy to pop out of the mold, which is sturdy and good quality. It's big enough to experiment with, but small enough that it doesn't feel cumbersome.
