Best Baking Torch Butane

👤Gave it a try after filling it up to the full level. Everything is working well. The Harbor F. torch was difficult to use, with the safety switch you had to hold down while pressing the igniter button, thetrigger pull igniter is a real improvement over that. The flame adjustment is easy to use.

You have to click thetrigger multiple times to get the torch to light, but sometimes as many as 20 clicks on thetrigger will not light the torch. I can't recommend this product.

👤The lighter is the best for safety because it takes me 15 times to get it to light, and then the flame goes out after a few seconds, even with a full tank. The Sondiko 400 torch was better quality and more consistent than this model, and I owned it before. I bought this one because it is an upgrade from the 400 and was cheaper. The lighter is unreliable and wont light the majority of the time. If you want that spark to catch the butane, you have to crank it up, because the spark is nowhere near where the gas comes out. It lights the few times it does. It still refuses to stay lit even while holding the working jet flame directly into the gas, even after trying to jumpstart it with another working jet torch. I regret buying this torch. At least those light a few times before they stop working. The previous part of the review was not deleted because it was still relevant, but the torch seems to work most of the time now. It doesn't like sparking and lighting up unless I have it nearly full blast, but it stays lit now, and I can lower it to a lower strength flame after the initial "Full blast ignition", so it works for what I need it for. It works better now than it did when I first bought it, but I'm not sure when it started working better. It takes a few clicks to get the spark to catch the gas, but it works now. Since the lighter still isn't perfect, but seems to work relatively well now, I'm raising it to 4 stars, and getting the job done now that it's working properly. I don't know why it started working better over time as I used it more, but at least it works now.

👤I needed a small torch. It does a great job. It would do a great job for me to cook something with a meringue, but I never do it. I tried to use the torch to sear steaks. It is hot enough to do it, but small for the job. I had it for a couple of months and it hasn't leaked. It was used for a large stereo install in a car and it still hadn't run out of fuel. If you need a small torch, I would recommend buying another one.

I got a faulty 1 for the first time and they made it right. Don't buy a piece of junk. I filled it with Butane and waited 10 minutes. It was hard to light and it tried to light me on fire. As soon as you point the flame down, the torch goes right to your hand. It's not a real torch flame, it's a big lighter flame. I have used torches that have a more powerful flame.

👤They did the job when I used them. The high intensity is good for torching steak, but the medium intensity is better for creme brulee. Having the fire set at a low setting puts out the fire. The flame always goes out within a minute when I try to torch the sugar. The medium fire burned some of the sugar while I was trying to get the edges. The low flame going out often made it hard to lock the flame. I was not sure if the flame was locked on or not. If you kept it on medium, it would be solved. If you see the flame and it won't go out, be careful because you are leaking propane into the air. I think if you know what you're doing, it's easy, but it was my first time and some of the propane leaked out of the torch when it was full. At least they were gone? I put it on a paper towel in case. If you just want to make dessert or torch a few things, I recommend this. It's a good thing.

It was easy to use, had plenty of power, and I got the hang of giving each dish the proper amount of fire. 👤This is an upgrade from my heat gun. I started making items that remove small air bubbles. The torch does what I wanted it to do, it does not add any small particles, it just removes the air bubbles quickly. I am very happy that this torch is light weight, I can't compare it to my heat gun, it's way lighter. I don't plan on cooking only for my crafts. I like it so far. I picked up a bottle from a local gas station. It looks good and feels good. It's on point. It's nice to store this little guy, you just leave it standing, no hassle with cords, or having to make sure it's in a particle free location. It looks like a small peanut butter jar for comparison purposes. There is a lock button on the side, it's a nice feature to have that way you don't hold down the nozzle to have torch on. I think the knob on the back of the torch is just for aesthics, or I haven't figured it out yet. Don't hesitate if you're crafting with it.

I like the one handed operation and the color. I call it my torch. It doesn't come with fuel because of the hazardous shipping costs. It's better to find your own. I use this torch to do small metal smithing work, like balling up wire, fusion wire rings, and small rings. You could probably do more if you used two. As my other torches die out, I will happily buy more, as long as the price stays reasonable.

It's easy to reach the buttons with my small hands. The base is wide and flat so you can stand it up when not in use. The instructions were short and to the point. It is easy to refill, use an aerosol butane can with a long nozzle and insert into the bottom. Quality purchase at a good price would buy again.

Dropping it and making it less functional is something I like to do. Even though it's lesser abilities after my abuse, I still love it. Since I'm trying out others, I have stopped using this torch as a daily torch. I've been on an epic quest looking for "My Torches", which is what I want in various sizes, and this quest has been what feels like forever and always, because torches are really crazy random dramatic bitches and do what they want, not what you want. Even if you treat torches with love and care, they will still go crazy one day. They were not built for a lifetime. If you like me and use them a lot, I'll be happy. I have a better relationship with my torches now that I have this understanding. I want to throw them against the wall as a first strike attack, smashing to tiny bits. I love the size, it's small enough for my small girl carny hands, but not too big, I can't use one handed. If you want to get technical, it's over 5 inches tall. It's a little heavy, like in Pajama pants vs Dbl Flame Torch, but jeans win. You can shift it from one flame to two and back very quickly. I can't express how awesome this function is, I haven't found another yet. It makes it capable of doing more. The torch is a smaller one, the tank is smaller, and the butane is quicker to eat. If you have ever used a handheld with quad flames, you know the concept. It has a good amount of time before needing a refill. I only use my torches for a couple things so I really can't speak to what they would be good at outside of personal experience usage. They use a lot of different types of smokable materials and also small pieces of jewelry. This torch is great for removing bubbles in small and rarely med size pieces, just be cautious and aware of the flame size, it's easy to burn the molds. It works great with the double flame on the nails for activities that are similar to those on ceramic. If you haven't tried the ceramic nails, I highly recommend it. They stay hot longer than the others and don't have to get red hot. Don't use ceramic nail in glass or Pyrex because it will crack. It's best with a Silicone pc. The single flame made it so I no longer needed to buy the eagle mini torches, which I hated, because I love this. I have been thinking about buying a new torch, every time I use it, I feel like it's one of the ones. I don't know. I feel like I need to buy it and try it out without my help, because I don't want to push it down. The feature of being able to use a single flame and change it as needed is awesome. Smaller tank size is bad. Will have to refill more often when using a flame that is a little heavier than expected and not suited for pockets in a lighter material. There are many more options of usage. I recommend this torch to anyone looking for a more handheld torch and wanting to use it for multiple things. The seller sent another one for me to review as I declined the refund. What follows is the new review. I kept the original review for reference. The seller has been great. The torch is heavy, has a narrow base, and a small butane tank, which is not ideal for my uses. The lock mechanism works, but it will not stay lit longer than 7 seconds even with the lock engaged, because of the pressure placed on it. I would not recommend this torch for anyone who needs to torch in the kitchen for more than one person. The 90 degree head-tilt move is a good option. The original review is still valid. It took 5 minutes to break. It looks and feels good. The flame wouldn't stay lit for more than a few seconds at a time. The well placed lock button was not used. I dropped it from a seated position and the ceramic piece from the tip broke and is useless now. Maybe it was a problem before Humpty-Dumptys left? It is in the trash now.

👤If you can fill it with butane, it's a P.I.A. and it works great. I had to find a smaller screwdriver and fill it with the bottom slots to screw it in. It's not a bad price for what I paid and it works better than most cheap smokeshop torches if you can get butane in it and adjust it.

I can use a lighter to light butane on fire if I want to verify that it works. It's not even a short delay, the gas comes on after a few seconds, and it's not going to work.

👤I use this for artistic purposes. Percent for that! It's so easy to position it because it has two ways to do it. The flame works at any setting, and works while being tilted, which caused my previous torch to shut off. It works great for cooking and presentation touches.

The flame has a good range, so you don't have to get very close to the item that you are torching. The torch head can be adjusted to accommodate the right angle. You can keep a flame for up to five minutes with the lock feature. It is not recommended by the manufacturer, so safety is first.

The torch has a gas window to see when it has to be filled out again, the gas refill is done by the bottom part of the torch and the ignition bottom is the perfect place to start the torch. 👤I've never held a small butane torch before and have nothing to compare these to, so 4 stars. I've been using both of the silver and red ones for a week. One tiny leak on the first fill was all operator technique. The igniter has failed or required more than a single pull of thetrigger, but I've used both of them many times. They're light in the hand, comfortable to hold, and stable when I need to set them down, which is good because, like any torch, the tip and shielding around the tip gets hot after a few minutes. I hope they last a long time.

👤Someone helped me out by throwing out about $300 worth of sterling silver and all my tools. I don't have a lot of discretionary money so I'm trying to replace the tools bit by bit. I found a torch I was interested in on Amazon, but it sold out in a few weeks, so I looked for another and found this. I bought it because I was afraid they'd sell it out quickly. The other one that sold out had better features. This has a piezoelectric igniter that works at the same time as it turns on the gas, and I like that. The Trigger works well. You don't have to hold anything to keep the gas on because there is a button. It will be easier to use. The flame can be adjusted with a control. This is perfect for jewelry-making, or any fine work in metal. It's one of the few torches that will allow you to see how much butane is in it. The safety piece that goes over thetrigger is something that no other torch has. It has an attractive "gear" look to it while still being sleek and attractive. I won't be using this until I have a good fire extinguisher.

The one I bought from eBay took forever to be shipped from China and this one didn't cost that much. I think this one works better. It's very easy to use. You don't need to keep holding thetrigger because there is a lock function. I used it to add a final touch to my dessert, and it worked well. It's not really a downside. I wish it could hold more butane. There is a line that says "Max" to let you know how much butane you can take. It doesn't look like it holds much because it gets full quickly. It's not a big deal.
