👤The torch doesn't come with butane. I had a good amount of butane left over from when I was a smoker. If you want to fill the torch with butane, you can put the nozzle from your butane into the female end of the torch. In short-medium length blasts, fill it. The torch should start to feel full a few times. You have to walk across the room to get away from the butane gas. To get to the actual level of gas, you need to purge the air out a few times. This torch is good for cooking meats that need a sear. I use this to light the pellets in the smoke tube that I use for cold smoking cheese and meats.

👤I've filled lighters with tiny plastic bottle butane refill but I've never filled a torch like this with an aerosol can. I had problems doing it. I stopped because it seemed like it was spraying. It's nice when the torch works. It will like barbecue as well and I like the color, the safety lock and the flame strength/gas flow regulator on it. Update... I tried to get my friend to help me fill it, but he saw the liquid spraying outside of the canister, instead of in. I tried feeling another smaller lighter and had no problem, so I don't know if there's something wrong with the nozzle piece. I deducted a star from this issue.

👤I didn't see how anyone could complain about the tote bag falling over because it does. It doesn't want to light using mapp gas, so you have to slow the flow of gas to get it to light. It was annoying. I will try it with a plain propane gas cylinder. I bought it because I wanted the torch,hose, and regulator, but I don't need it, I can buy a tote from Harbor Freight and have what I need. If you want to use Mapp gas, you should get a Fat Maxx self lite kit. I have tried propane with this and it works great, but I have to open the valve just a little less than a quarter turn to light it, than it does. You will get used to it if you try it with MAPP gas. I have modified the bag, remove the metal guard and open the side pocket for the coiled hose, it works great.

👤Something has been changed with this. My old torch heads work. This is the largest piece of junk I have ever used. I have been in the plumbing business for 20 years. Don't try to fix it if it isn't broken. I would love to come back. I have been away for a long time. I bought this one as a backup because my older one broke after 4 months. So disappointed.

The flame shield that comes with this kit is very useful. The seller did a great job. The kit arrived a week early. I had an issue with the regulator. I didn't have to pay to send the old one back because the seller sent me a new one within a couple of days. Excellent customer service. If you buy the kit, I recommend ordering a T2 tip. The tips are too hot to use on a pipe that is in close quarters.

👤The GARBAGE is very dangerous. I just got this a few days ago. It was used less than a dozen times. It becomes a blowtorch when the button is pushed and it leaks fuel when you lock it. I tried to get the fire gauge to go down so that it wouldn't give a flame at the lowest part of the slide. Too much fuel at low and too little at medium. I'm afraid to turn it on. Don't buy. 👤I was hoping for a consistent flame, but for the price, I shouldn't expect much. While in the lowest position, this spits out the kind of flame I would expect for about 3 seconds, then it gets 'choppy' and large bursts of yellow flame start sputtering out making it dangerous for cigar lighting and unusable and inconsistent for food. In the highest flame mode, it's a borderline flame thrower with a huge yellow flame greater than a foot out that rises towards the ceiling. Disappointed.

Even though it was completely turned off, I pulled it out of my cabinet and found it empty. I heard a hissing sound while refilling the torch. Even though the knob was closed, the gas continued to escape and I had to leave the torch outside to release the remaining fuel. The butane must have escaped because the torch was full when I stored it. I'm very lucky that it didn't start a fire.

I left the torch in my room and came back from work with a lot of butane in my room. I had to use my heater before I had to air it out. This is a serious fire hazard. If your torch leaks from the inlet and you try to seal it, it starts to leak from where it actually ignites the flame, so there's no stopping the leak, if you have space

I had to get rid of it and buy a new one because it became too dangerous to play, but I love it and it does not hold as much butane as the one I had bought before. A-day. It wouldn't run out of fluid but within a few days it will run out and I don't use it as much as I used to. I would buy it again. I use it for heating my dabbing rig and smudge sticks to smoke weed since you can adjust the flame from low to high and torch to regular flame. If you have little ones, keep it high and on your person.

👤The physical design fits in well. It was hard to adjust the flame from the beginning. It's a challenge since butane sprays back no matter what nozzle you use or how much you bleed the torch. It just stopped working. If they put as much quality into the inner workings of the unit as they did the look of it, you might have something. 👤I've been looking for a lighter that can serve as a regular lighter but also go all out when I need it. I have found her! I turned it to "flame mode" after getting it today. The top and bottom adjust to "wide/expansive" and "short flame" respectively. This is a unicorn that has two adjusters. A candle flame came out. For those of you who need a high degree of heat, I tested the opposite, "narrow/ straight" and "long flame", and out came a "lazer beam" of heat. I did this all with one hand and one ignition. I have been playing with it for a while. We will see what I say after 2 weeks. The color of gold is good, but I usually don't like it. A silver option is nice. Is it lightweight? Not really. I like the feeling of quality. I don't want to feel like I'm holding something. If you are going to buy a torch lighter, just stop. You have found a horse.
