Best Baking Weights Cube

I decided to call the manufacturer or the distributor because Amazon has a button that says get product support. They taught me that locking up out of the box is a safety feature, even though I was about to return them. I have no idea why they don't tell you this, but I went through a few minute process and they seem to work great. I'm happy now. If you hit the base with your hand, they will turn upside down and you will be able to turn them to 5 lbs. After pressing a hidden release button on the dumbbell, take the plates out and place them in the base. The handle should be put back in the base. It worked for me. It's plastic inside, but I think it will work for a good amount of time, and they have a 2 year parts warranty. If you don't mind, upvote this to make it easier for other people to see that it wasn't broken out of the box. The distributors number is 1-800-605-3499. The old review is no longer relevant. They need to know how to open the box. The lack of instructions made me adjust to 3 stars. I'm a smart user and a gym user, so this isn't an error. I've never owned weights like these, I'll probably still buy some just to save space, but these ones don't work, straight out of the box, which surprised me because I assume Bowflex is a good name. I'm going to contact Amazon to fix this. I've had friends come over who thought they could get it to work, but they all realized it wasn't working. One of the dumbbells doesn't work and the other does, but they both like half the time. The numbers were lined up correctly. It makes me think that either this is a bad brand or this is a good one, because both of these are either partly faulty or completely faulty.

👤I bought a set of 552's earlier in the year when they were on sale for just over $200. My wife hated having her hand in the Power Blocks that I had in the past. She was going to use this set of dumbbells as well. I got these and the stand and so far they work great. I have some concerns. It is a mostly plastic design. We are very good to our home gym equipment but they feel like they are going to have a limited lifespan. There are a lot of reviews that said they had problems. I don't like the wobbly nature of the plates on the dumbbells while you are working out. They move a fair amount. It's not a big deal but it's definitely different than a solid dumbbell. The grip is comfortable and you can change it quickly if you need to change weights frequently. The weight stack makes it easy for them to come in and out. I tend to do it cautiously as that could damage the catch mechanism if forced. After buying these, I was looking for other equipment and saw a pair of Ironmaster Dumbbells for sale. It became clear to me that I needed to go to at least 75 lbs. when I owned the 552's. The Ironmasters are a different level of product than the other ones, but they come at a different level of price as well. The Ironmasters feel like a solid dumbbell when you adjust them tightly. There is no comparison. They are behind the 552's because of the ease of adjusting the weight. I can change two dumbbells in 45 seconds but the same adjustment on the 552's takes 5 seconds. The Ironmasters have one negative. I know they are a lifetime purchase. We are keeping both for now and it has worked out well. If we are not doing circuits that require quick changes, we use the 552's for lighter sets or Ironmasters for heavier sets. My wife and I work out together a lot and two sets of dumbbells makes sense. I think it comes down to the price point and longevity of the product. I have been working out at a gym for 30 years and decided to build a home gym. I want equipment that will stay with me until I can't do it anymore. The Ironmasters are the right choice. If you're new to working out or setting up a home gym and don't know if you're going to stick with an exercise program, the Ironmasters and Bowflex 552's would be a good place to start. Hopefully they will last, just go easy on them. I would consider Power Blocks as well. They are fast to change. Some people don't like the design of the hand inside the block position. If you are looking at the big three options, that's helpful.

👤Light balls surfaced. Only 1/3 of the bottom of a typical pie plate was covered. These pie weight balls are a great choice if you need enough coverage of weights that will be hard to keep clean. They are a complete waste if they are not. Balls leave a white powder after use. It's great if you like a little Taiwanese cereamic dust.

👤I'm surprised at how many people complain about the dustiness of these pie weights, but they're easy to rinse off and dry, and they were never meant to go into a pie crust naked. If you line your pie with foil or parchment, the little babies will distribute the heat evenly, and they won't leave any particles behind in the pie. Remove them after a few minutes and then bake to dry and brown the bottom of the crust. My complaints are the same as everyone else's: one box is not enough to hold up the sides and lock them in place during blind baking, so consider the price doubled and get two; and I keep mine in a jar.

👤I needed pie weights so I could blind bake the bottom of the pie. Blind baking keeps a bottom crust from getting wet. The pie weights should come up the sides of the pie pan to make sure the bottom of the pie is pressed against the tin. There wasn't enough pie weights in a single box to cover the bottom and not enough to fit on the sides of the tin. I plan to buy more of these pie weights because I like them and they are easy to clean and store.

👤I had been using dried bean for many years and decided it was time to treat myself to a set of pie weights. The ceramic beads work better than dried beans because the ceramic holds the heat and helps the crust brown. One set would have been sparse if other reviewers had not complained that the number of weights was skimpy. New ceramic pie weights will be covered in ceramic dust during shipping. Before use, be sure to rinse them in a collander. The liner should always be used over the crust. The weights will become embedded in the crust and it will be toast. I apologize for the bad pun. - If you smooth the liner over the unbaked crust before filling it with beads, the beads won't roll around as easily. The plastic storage box is flimsy, and it's difficult to put the weights back in it after use. A colored canning jar is great if you want a simpler storage solution or if your box breaks. I use a turqoise antique Ball jar. I found that there are many other items that could be used just as well as the ceramic beads for pie weights, such as the glass beads for flower arranging, and the tumbled stones. You can get the equivalent of two packages for a dollar, so the stones and glass beads are far more economical, and you could use them in your flower vases when you're not baking pies. If you do this, wash them well afterwards. You can get glass beads that are flat, so they are easier to handle. The glass beads are not the same as the gel beads. The glass beads will be safe in an oven because of the high melting point of the glass.

👤They look great. The size and weight are perfect. I washed them and let them drain. The dust was expected. There were no broken pieces on mine. Before using the first time, I would check. I am sure the ceramic beads break occasionally.

👤These pie weights are really nice. They filled the 9 inch pan and left some over. They don't come with instructions, but you can use them. I put them over the paper and foil to make it easier to take out. They are easy to wash.

👤I was excited to try the pans. I've only used the sheet pan. I made some potato skins. I heard a loud clang while I was baking some fish at 350. The pan is twisted. I'm still within the first 30 days, so I'm debating returning the rest of the set.

👤The second time I used the baking sheet, I removed it from the oven and it immediately warped and bent, sending roasted potatoes and hot oil all over my kitchen. I can't speak for the other items, but I'm not impressed.

👤The baking set is the worst I have ever purchased. The bakery goods are ruined because they tear in chunks, with much or most of the products still stuck to the pan. You can't serve rotten pans or give ruined bakery goods as gifts if you consider the purchase price and the loss of expensive ingredients. I used the bread loaf pan for the first time. I had to soak it for several hours and then change out the fresh soaking water because of the layers of gunk that had stuck and torn when I tried to get it out of the pan. The color of the pans looked stained when baking product had touched them. The pans were ruined the first time they were used, but I did not leave them damp or to air out.

I saw posts of people with rust and metal, and I think they have no idea how to care for their cookware or even how to cook. It is not that difficult to clean and dry your items. Don't cut too hard on the pans, they're not meant for that. These are worth a lot of money. It is a steal. It is worth it to just buy them. I will show you how they are holding up if you contact me directly. These reviews of people who are not clued up.

👤I have been making bread for 30 years. 6 months ago, I purchased 2 of these pullman pans and have used them weekly. The heavy duty pans are very good. I have not had a problem with rust/scratching despite some reviews. Every time, I use a recipe from 1906 from the Chicago Tribune for a 9” pan. The logo should be left in the top of the loaf because the lids fit well. I treat the pans and lids the same way I treat my century old cast iron. After releasing the loaf, I wipe the pans and lids down with a damp cloth, then place them back in the hot oven to cool. The performance is affected by these little extra steps.

👤I have made a few Pain de Mie using this pan. I initially liked the pan, but have come to realize that it must be better quality in the U.S. No, no. The loaf of Pain de Mie exploded the poorly fitting top off of the loaf pan and the pan material bent in the oven after about the 6th use. The lips around the pan are weak and poorly formed. I am far beyond a simple amateur baker and was using a standard Pain de Mie for this pan. French or Chinese imitations are much better than the ones you buy in the US. I have several of those and they have held up better than this pan. "Made in the U.S." Not true at all.

👤I have a pan loaf in my kitchen that has baked at least 20 loaves. The loaf pan was chosen for its size. A 2-lb. is the size of most of my recipes. The top of the loaf is close to the edge of the pan. The slices turn out larger than I wanted. These are what I wanted. The quality has held up well. The finish isn't a "no-stick" finish. You need to grease it, but I have not had a problem getting it to release the loaves. The pan isfolded into shape, and that leaves tiny vertical grooves in each corner that tend to accumulate a build-up of old crust. I suggest you keep some bamboo skewers with you if you buy this item. They are the right people to clear out those grooves.

👤I bought the pan to bake the sourdough with the lid on so I could get the bread as square as possible. My best loaf yet was produced by the pan. The loaf baked perfectly after the lid slid off. I've done my test bakes and will be buying more.

👤This extra long pan is great for bread making. I use a bread maker to bake my bread. I don't have to use the oven in the summer because it's summer. I have not been able to get a loaf of bread that sustains the rise. I thought I needed to change my recipe, but nothing changed. The 9 inch pan that I purchased isn't big enough. I get a bigger loaf with this pan, but it stays up. I have stopped using the bread maker. After many loaves, I have changed my recipe. I found that using more water made the loaf taller. I reduced my flour mix to 5 cups. I use 3 eggs instead of 4. I use 4 tbs. There is Psyllium Husk powder. 2 cups of salt. There are 1 1/2 scoops of milk powder. The large box of milk powder has a scoop in it. 1 cup. There is 1 1/2 cups of yeast. 3 cups of baking powder, 3 cups of cinnamon, and 3 cups of honey. 2 cups of water and olive or cocoanut oil. Place it in a pan, push it into it, then score the top with a knife. I place the pan on the top of the oven to get it ready for the oven to warm up. I have a loaf of bread that is tall. I toast it at a short interval. The slices shrink just enough to fit on the side of the bread that is on high. I now have some nice slices to make my sandwiches with. I use a Lock & Lock and pre mix my flour so that I don't have to mess with it when I want to make a loaf or a pizza. My flour mix is comprised of 2 cups of brown rice flour, 1 cup of potato starch, 1 cup of millet or sorghum flour, 1/2 cup of buckwheat flour, and 1/2 cup of ground roasted, unsalted sunflower seeds. I can fit 3 batches into the bin with the large Lock & Lock. A lot of ingredients, but a structured loaf. I just bought another one of these pans. I like the larger size so that I get more slices. The first one lost it's non-stick feature, so I reduced this pan a bit. I have to spray it. I don't use the pan at more than 350 degrees.

👤I bought a scale to weigh my puppies. It's great so far. I put a plate on it and then put a puppy on it. It works like a charm. I would definitely recommend it. It's very nice looking. If you're buying it for the kitchen, it's great.

This scale is easy to use and accurate, it's convenient when a recipe calls for an ingredient in grams and you don't have the tools to measure. In our video, you can see it quickly turn on. The unit can be changed while the item is on the scale. Within seconds, it turns off. We've used this scale many times over the last few years and we still use the same batteries. The scale has small grips on it. It's a great price and scale.

👤The scale is terrible. You pay for what you get and I only paid $8. The weight reading is moving. I used a scale that was side by side and weighed 4 grams. The other scale gave exactly 4 while this one went back and forth from 3 to 5. I wish I had spent more money. I work in law enforcement and need more precise weights.

👤The scale is easy to use, pretty accurate, and sleek, but I had an issue with the actual read out. If you place a bowl or plate on top of the flat top, it will block the screen. You have to look under the curve of the bowl or place a thinner box on top of the bowl to see if you can push back the bowl. The scale would have been 5 stars, but the fact that you can't see the display without going through a mission is pretty annoying. It was the larger version that was sent free of charge after I gave it 3 stars, which negates the issue I mentioned above. The newer version of the one I was sent has the read out to the side which seems more practical. I had to raise my initial 3 stars to 4 for customer service.

👤I had a hard time figuring out how to rate this product. It is designed to weigh small amounts of food. It is well designed. That is all it does to deliver on its intended function. The zero function is coupled to the measuring function. When you put a dish on the scale then zero the display, the resulting value will include the weight of your finger pushing the button. The product doesn't measure the weight of food as advertised. The designer is not an engineer. I would recommend a different product. I will return this and find a better product. I will update this review with my findings when I do. I gave it two stars because. It looks nice.

👤Not sensitive to low weights. The scale is useless for measuring out items that are in the low single digits of grams. You can only work around it by putting something heavy on the scale, then putting the measuring paper on top of that, and then pouring the ingredient. The scale I bought from Amazon did not have this problem. The scale is not perfect, on the order of 10-20%. If you put a cup on the scale and measure a significant amount of ingredients, it can be tested easily. Remove the cup and put a different cup on the scale and pour in what should be 20 grams from the first cup. It will be different. The scale is trash. The last scale I bought was accurate to less than 1%.

👤The odor came from the box. The basket was covered in mold and I scrubbed it thinking it was a problem with packing and wanted no hassle. The inside was covered in mold.

👤I only had this juicer for 3 days before it stopped working. I only used it for juice in the morning and then cleaned it. I am sending it back because it won't turn on now, and I hope it will turn on again next time. I have to pack it up and send it back now because it is disrupting my meal planning and schedule. The filter/strainer part was difficult to clean because it was impossible to get clean after 3 days. I tried running it through a second time, but it ended up making the juice part bigger. I think you get what you pay for, and this is a less expensive option.

👤I had previously owned a store bought version of a juicer that was very basic and messy, and produced very little juice, so I was going to purchase a new one. I decided on a budget of $100 to $150 because I don't plan to juice every day, but still want a quality item that would get the job done. The Breville Compact Juice fountain was on back order for 1-2 months, but I found it for around the same price as the refurbished item, so I decided to buy it. I was hesitant to purchase but I was reassured by the excellent reviews and Amazon has always stood behind its product. The additional 4-year warranty was cheap but peace of mind. It arrived in a new box, looking brand new and wrapped in all the manufacturing packaging - not a mark or flaw to be seen, so my guess is these might simply be returns that once shipped cannot be marked as new even if never used. I will post a video next time. I had a bunch of fruit and veggies that I needed to use in a recipe, so I mixed apples, parsley, pineapple, lemons, and cucumber. It took just minutes to make a full jug of juice. It squeezed through the produce. It did work better with apples and even the cucumber, though it did struggle with the pineapple, though it did better than I expected. I just took all the fruit, threw it in my machine, added a few berries and a banana, and I have a smoothie ready for work tomorrow which is thicker as a lot of the watery content became tonight's juice! I plan to use the juice to make popsicles for the kids in the summer as a way to sneak some greens into their diet. One of the easiest parts of all was the part that I had been anticipating, and that was clean up. The parts are dishwasher safe, and it was easy to rinse them off. It is easier than my old model and the juice was caught cleanly in the jug with no spills during juicing! I was happy to go with this, it was refurbished and all. There is an update. One of my favorite juice shots is lemon, apple cider vinegar and ginger. I had been making it with ginger, but after watching my local juice place use fresh ginger juice, we tried juicing ginger. I am getting the real deal because I don't have to peel it and it's in a mason jar.

👤I was looking for a product that would allow me to swing 30-50 lbs. when a gym didn't have kettlebells or light bells. This works well for Turkish Get Ups. I've had this for a week and haven't had any issues with it. The handle adds about five to six inches to the weight of the bell, which makes it feel heavier. There is a ring of foam inside the gryp, it gives for thicker handles. Everyone left a review saying this is a waist of money and the dumbbell hit your legs. Use a wider stance or turn the handle 90 degrees and use a "thumbs-up" grip. Pros - allows for 5lb or 2.5lb increases - fits all uncoated dumbbell handles I've tried - dumbbell did not move at all in gryp - I was afraid the handle seam might cut into my hands but it didn't. The weight feels heavier. The handle is very smooth and slippery, can cause bumps on your legs, and cause weight to rest lower down on arm for TGU.

👤I use this when I stay in hotels. I can expand my workout options by converting dumbbells into kettlebells. Light and compact for travel. Well built. The grip is comfortable. You can choose the weight you want to work with. There were no issues with heavy weight dumbells. Can do a lot of exercises. My favorites are the sumo deadlift high pulls and figure eights. The handle is slightly textured but sweaty so use gym chalk to prevent slippage. It's made in my hometown of San Diego. There are pros and cons. None really. The shape of the dumbbell makes it difficult to do things like the Snatch, which is not safe to do. The pictures and video are with a 50lb dumbbell.

👤I was very excited to be able to do kettlebells on the road. I'm not able to find a set of dumbbells that have a small enough hand grip to fit in the kettle gryp. I've tried three different styles of hand grips, but they are larger than the kettle gryp. The concept is great, but not very useful. This is money that is going to go down the drain. Hopefully someone else will come up with a better version of the idea.

👤I've been looking for a product like this for a while. My career requires me to be a road warrior and stay in hotels every week. Most hotels have dumb bells, but few have kettle bells. I was able to bang out the kettle bell swings with this. I found a competing product but didn't buy it. It is made out of cast iron and costs $150. I found this product on Amazon and it is plastic and easy to fit in my airline carry on. The product feels solid. The dumb bell does not move. Time will tell if it is durable. I have a portable gym that fits into my carry on and allows me to have a great workout even if I am stuck in a terrible gym.

👤The product started out as five stars for our family. It was a stocking stuffer for my kids when they were younger, and it has held their attention longer than anything else they got for Christmas. They are shouting SHAPE! They think they have made a novel shape with their cube. I was disappointed when my kids took it back from me. It is easy to manipulate and has a satisfying purpose. The link was sent to a family that loves puzzles. The cube was being worked by my daughter, who hid it behind her back to make shapes, and she noticed a split in the design cover just past one of the seams. We immediately put it away so as not to make the split worse, but I am frustrated that she will not use the cube because I can't figure out how to fix it without leaving a sticky mess. One cube has a blue pattern and the other has a split pattern. The cube with the matt finish is not showing any wear, even though the pattern on the cubes does feel different to the touch. My kids prefer screens to pass the time, but we do limit video games and force the kids to entertain themselves as much as we can. We like to play board games and puzzles.

👤Wow, so disappointed right now. The plastic and magnets are held together by some stickers. All four cubes feel cheap. I don't think this will last long. It will be sturdy at first, but the stickers will stretch and tear over time. I expected seething to be built at least as well as a Rubix cube, but for $20 apiece, I guess duct tape will fix it. You have something that looks and feels like it came from the dollar store. Save your money and wait for the sale to start. Don't pay full price. It's neat at $20 for all four cubes, but it's too much for what you get. I will return the cubes and spend my money on something better. I was surprised that more reviewers hadn't commented on Shashibo's cheap construction. It is obvious on the first touch. Save yourself the hassle of coming back.

👤I would like to use this product. It's fun to play with. I bought two because I loved it so much. The first one split in 2 weeks. I thought it was a mistake. It's held together with a flimsy sticker and splits after a few weeks of normal play. The second cube is splitting. I took a picture of the split and uploaded it to my computer. This should've lasted longer than a month. I would have bought all four eventually if they had been more durable. It's a shame.

👤These are made with 36 rare earth magnets. It seemed like it was plastic with stickers when I received it. I bought 3. I sent them back. It's not worth the price for plastic.

👤I've been looking for a better blind baking solution than the bag of dried lentils that I've been using, and I found these adorable rainbow ones! They work well and are not boring in the kitchen with the nice storage jar. I was worried about pouring the hot beans back into the glass jar immediately out of the oven, so I let them cool a bit before doing so, but the jar held up fine even while the weights were still warm. If you're looking for something a little more fun than the standard pie weights, you should purchase these.

👤I have never baked a pie crust. I didn't have pie beads so I used beans. You can only use the beans once and then discard them. I ordered the beads. I washed them and they dried quickly. The package of just beads was more expensive than the one with the pie crust guard and silicone pastry bag. I am excited to have the ease of use silicone guard because I have never had a crust shield. I plan to order another set after I try this product because I usually bake 2 pies at a time.
