Best Baking Weights Large

👤These pie weights are nice. I only needed one package to weight the 9-inch crust because I purchased two of the 11oz packages. They are clay, so they come a little dusty, but you can rinse them off in a sieve. The description says it comes with a container. It was definitely not delivered with a container. The product works well, but I didn't get a part of it I paid for. Knocked down two stars for not including the advertised item. I contacted Amazon customer service about the missing containers, and they took good care of me. They were applauded by them! I suggest contacting Amazon if you get the advertised containers but others don't, because I noticed in other reviews that others did not. Since they are advertising a container that doesn't seem to exist, I'm leaving my original review and 3-star rating.

👤The weights do their job. The smaller size is nice. The size of a pea is about the same. Some of the weights I own from other manufacturers are too big for what I want. I had just enough to make 12 muffin shells for the quiche I ordered, even though I thought I would have more.

The directions state to cool and remove weights after baking, washing, and storing in this container. I bought the 11oz. but it looks like I'll need more weights. 👤It is a challenge to keep the bottom from cracking or rising when blind baking a pie crust. The little pie weights take care of that problem. Put some paper on the bottom of the pie crusrt and fill it with the pie crust. I bought 4 of these packages so that I could either do one deep pie crust or 2 standard height 10 inch pie crusts. When the pie crust is done, I put it back in the oven for 5 minutes to brown the base, and then I just lift these out using the archment paper. Don't grab them right after you remove them from the oven because they retain their heat. They should be okay to handle if they sit for half an hour. These are a great product.

👤They look great. The size and weight are perfect. I washed them and let them drain. The dust was expected. There were no broken pieces on mine. Before using the first time, I would check. I am sure the ceramic beads break occasionally.

👤I thought I'd use the easier-to-deploy route of a pie chain, having only ever used rice to blind bake. This was not adequate for a basic pie. The chain covered most of the crust. The crust rose between the chains. It was made for a questionable pie. I can either go back to rice or order more pie chains so they cover the crust and work. Rice is cheaper because I spill it everywhere.

👤I ordered these after the last time I baked. Too late to return them, I have not used them yet. I just used one for a pie and it was pretty bad. It was difficult to set the pie gently because it was floppy. The ends are loose and they don't fit together well, so it comes apart when trying to handle the dam thing. It did not stop the edge of the crust from getting hot. I kept them because I thought they would be easier to store. They're not. I would have liked to have bought the metal ones.

This does not stay well. A double hook would be a great fix for this. I found it easy to push 4 toothpicks through it. They go through with no issues. That fixes the problem and they work well.

👤They were nicely packed with a plastic bag. Nothing was noted differently than other reviewers. There are bright colors. I haven't tried baking with them yet, but unless they don't like the heat, there's not much mystery to it. There needs to be a layer of paper or foil between the weights and the dough in order for them to "sunk" in their dough.

👤I needed pie weights and I liked the multicolor ones offered by this seller. Most of them have small chips in their finish. I haven't baked with them yet, but I think they will be fine. I bought them for a functional use. There are many of them which will fit in a pie pan of any size.

👤Baking weights are perfectly adequate. There were some "chipped" weights in the packaging but no chips in the bag so it wasn't in transit. The bad is that they are not very attractive for pie weights, but the good is that the colors come out nicely when washed and dried. We won't be blind baking anything until November if anything goes sideways in the oven.

👤The container had several broken or chipping objects out of it. I had to redo my first crust after Sunk into my dough. I threw them out because I was worried they would break in the future.

It's possible that this seller sent me the wrong item. I don't have the tag anymore. The sticker on the bottom of the pan shows the model you ordered.

👤The heavy gauge metal pizza pan is perfect for my grill. I needed something that would be safe for camping and grilling. I wanted it to be safe and not cause a fire. I covered it with aluminum foil for extra protection. I use a large pizza pan to dehydrating fruit and veggies in the oven. It works well on both accounts. There is also a way to make a big pizza. 👤Product is not what it appears to be. I ordered these because I wanted a chain of solis balls instead of a string of hollow beads. This is not what I was expecting. The product description is wrong and the actual weight is half of what the seller says it is.

👤The chain is 5 ounces. The ceramic weights that I have today weigh more than 10 ounces. I use 2 sets of ceramic weights for a single crust. The ceramic weights are not on a chain, but I will continue with them until I find a better product.

👤I had problems with the edges of the pizza getting too brown and hard when it was still cold. I baked it a few minutes longer to brown the crust because I had been covering the edges with foil. That worked well. I wanted something more permanent. The We bake Pie Crust protectors fit standard size frozen pizza's just fine and can be adjusted for larger or smaller sizes. It does the job well, but with some differences. Foil can be removed immediately without burning fingers. Silicone does not cool quickly. It will cause burns to fingers. It was awkward to use a pot holder. When pulling foil off a pizza, it takes the cheese with it. Silicone doesn't stick to anything. The foil must be removed from the brown edges of the pizza before it is baked. The edges were just right under the Silicone shield. I didn't have to take the shield off to make it brown. There is waste. There was foil going into the landfill for each pizza. The shield is made of silicone. Put it in the dishwasher. I think it will take several years.

👤I had to return them because as soon as I opened the package there was a thick layer of dust all over everything, and one third of the weights were broken open. Other items received were fine and packaging intact, so it was not from shipping. Mrs. Anderson's pie weights are more expensive but will last longer.

It was a disappointment. The product was covered in a white powdery substance when I received it. I thought it was flour, but the texture was off once in contact with it. When you put up your Christmas tree and have to handle the branches and artificial lights for too long, touching the case/bag or ceramic beads leaves a fine mark on your hands. I used soap and water to wash it off. Several of the beads were damaged and the inner part looked like a metal ball. I will throw my product in the trash. It was a complete waste of money. A bag of regular dried beans works better than this, and doesn't leave a weird residual from handling them.

👤These are perfect! If you wash them and let them air out on a towel, then stick them in an oven on a low temp for an hour, they will be dusty. They are good to go. I don't recommend air drying them as they will not dry out completely on their own, and if you live in a humid place, you will have sticking complaints. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend them to anyone. Make sure you use them correctly.

👤There were no instructions for this product. If you purchase this product, you should be prepared to wash it before using because the weights were not dust free. The bag holding the weights was covered in white dust. I poured the weights into the unbaked pie crust. The weights wouldn't budge when I removed the cooked crust. When I tried to remove the weights from the pie shell, the weight of the pellets caused it to fall out of the pan and break into pieces. I saw that the Amazon website said to line the pie crust with "cooking" paper before placing weights in it. The instructions should have been included with the product. The description of the product did not include them. They were at the bottom of the page. I will use the weights as a cookie cutter, because they came in a nice tin.

👤I like to bake the pie's crust to prevent sogginess. The beads work well. When done, just dump the paper in a strainer and wash it well, then spread it out on a towel and dry. Don't put them back in the container until they are completely dry. The container is nice.

👤I don't think it's fair that people don't know how to use something or that they don't read the description. It is not a 10" pan. The inside cooking area is 8.5" and the outside measurement is 9.5". It is quite deep, which is what I needed. You must be careful with this because it will chip, crack and break easily. Don't treat it like a metal pan and read the instructions on the back of the label when it arrives. Many people said it cracked when using a toast. Don't put a toasting oven in it. It can't go from freezing to the oven. The instructions say so. The hot pan should not be put in the water. There is a I put the pan in my dish water for 10 minutes to get the glue to come off. It's beyond me how a reviewer could have spent half a day trying to get it off. It wasn't wrapped inside the box. It was just a box with no tissue paper, bubble wrap, or anything else. It is arriving broken to some homes, but that wasn't the case with me, it is fine. I baked my first pie and it was a pleasure to serve it from this pretty pan.

👤We broke one of our pyrex pie dishes and I made this purchase before Thanksgiving. I went for it because all the glass dishes were sold out. I was surprised that this dish seems to cook better than my old pyrex dish, and I was delighted by how beautiful this dish looks. I'm sold! This will be the new pie dish if I ever need it.

👤I was excited to use this pan. A happy dance took place after it arrived, and it was even better in person than in the pictures. I had to spend hours trying to remove the sticker from the middle of the packaging because it was involved with someone who hates pies and wants to ruin people's enthusiasm. 👤I was happy to read that the glass marbles were easy to clean and weigh down my pie crust, after reading a lot of reviews. They come in a thick bag for easy storage. They are not worried about absorbing or discoloring water. Before pouring the marbles in, be sure to put down a layer of paper on top of the raw crust. I no longer use dried beans or rice for food.
