I was looking for something lighter and easier to use. The bottom well was covered but not the sides. I made the crust. It was a disaster. Everything above the flaps fell back in on itself. When using pie weights, you fill the inside of the crust to the rim so that the filling doesn't move. This left too much pie crust exposed. I wish I could come back. Not worth the money.

It's important that you chill your pie in the fridge or freezer for at least 1/2 hour before you bake it. If I'm making enough food for several days, I can weigh out each bowl to make sure I've portioned it correctly. The scale makes it easier to make sure the ingredients are the right proportions.

I bought another scale that weighed less than this one but was more expensive. I upgraded because it had some nice features, but this one doesn't. I like this scale a lot. While the display says "HELLO" and while you hold power, also tap UNIT 4x, then the display shows the current timeout in seconds. You can tap POWER until it reads your desired timeout value. 4. The display says "pass" to accept the value. Done. The procedure is verified for my device. If you see anything else, just turn it off and start over, you don't want to mess up your weight calibration.
