It is easy to change the portable hand mixer head. A handheld mixer. Cream, mayonnaise, eggs, pancake batter, and more can be easily handled with the ergonomics grip. One-tOUCH is used. You can use cake mixer to start slow and finish fast, as well as mix smoothie or simply blend cakes, juice and chocolate with the high power whipper. The sleek design of the Toogel hand mixer makes it easy to clean in the water or dishwasher. All of the included items are made of 304 steel.
👤I use the Toogel stick mixer to mix my morning drink of milk and a nutrition powder. I had gone through several battery powered drink mixers that didn't work well because they couldn't blend the powder and milk together. I didn't like the cost of battery changes. The answer I was looking for was apparent when I saw the stick mixer. Plug-in mixer had to pack more punch than its battery powered counterpart, right? The Toogel mixer has two speeds. I disliked my battery powered drink mixer when I turned it on side by side. The Toogel mixer produced the same mediocre results as the battery powered unit, but it was obvious that the battery powered unit produced more RPMs. The whole unit vibrates and feels out of balance when the attachment is held because the attachment has an extreme wobble. I think I got one that quality control missed because I noticed that one other reviewer noticed the same problem. The Toogel mixer has a unique handle. The Toogel could be a top performer if it only produced less vibration, had more power, and increased RPMs.
👤I like the fact that it's handheld, instead of a fixed standing mixer. I can use it to get into the bottom of the bowl. The handle can twist into a 90 degree bend for certain tasks, such as mixing buttercream frosting. It works well in mixing different foods quickly and efficiently, which saves time and energy. I am very pleased with the product.
👤It was well packaged. There were no scratches or nicks. It is beautiful. I like the way it felt on my hands. Nobody is making me leave a dishonest review because I paid full price. Let's start. There is an attached cord and 3 different attachments. 2. I don't like how the attachment is made. The hand mixer attachment has a middle part. The regular hand mixer attachment has 5 lines, whereas this one has 4. I have the picture up, but when I use that attachment, it splatters everywhere, so I hate that attachment. 3. I dislike the batter attachment, but I use the whisk attachment for whisking and batter. I tried to see if my regular hand mixer attachment would fit in this handheld, but it doesn't. 4. I've used it a few times, but I'll use it for bigger hitters. 5. It is easy to clean 6. It can be straight up or in the drill position. I like the feature a lot. There is a I like it. I will grab my regular mixer before grabbing the handheld mixer. The batter attachment irritated me, that's the reason for 4 stars. When batter went everywhere, I was happy, but then I wasn't happy about cleaning up time.
👤I only had a whisk at the time and it took me a while to make the batter for the no bake cake. My first attempt with the whisk ended with me using almost all of my strength and energy as I messed up the batter and spent more than an hour trying to get it done with the cream with soft peaks. Always follow directions and read the instructions when adding Condensed Milk. The no bake ice cream cake turned out great after my second try. Baking and making desserts will be easier with this, I did not have an electric mixer at the time. The electric mixer/whisk was easy to use when I first tried it, with one setting going slow and the other going quickly. It's easy to clean, you just need to clean the metal attachment that you use to whisk or mix.

👤The mixer is very good. I paid 250 for a KitchenAid mixer. My mom kept mine when I moved. I needed a new mixer for the holidays. This was perfect. It has high quality attachments, excellent speed and precision, and the compact size is perfect. This is a great choice for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a mixer. I can't recommend it enough.
👤The worst mixer we have ever owned. We do a lot of baking and needed a mixer that could handle all of the different types of dough. There is no slow and steady speed for the kneading of dough or working with icing with a large amount of powdered sugar. The instant you turn on the mixer to speed it, you can see that it makes everything fly out of the bowl and all over the room and the mixer, even with the included plastic cover. The speed goes from zero to mach one, then to mach two, and so on until there is no slower speed at all. The machine shakes like it is going to fall apart when mixing, which is why it has to have strong cups on the bottom. When making dough, it doesn't matter what type of dough you are making, it still ends up above the dough hook, wrapped around where the dough hook connects to the mixer, and into the crevices which results in black machine grease getting onto, and in, your dough. The pattern of the spin does not work well when working with dough, as it only spins around and does not adequately knead all parts of the dough, which also contributes to the dough immediately "climbing" the dough hook and blocking the space between the dough hook and the mixer itself. If the dough is too dense, it can't handle it and will start to smoke and turn off, so you have to leave it for a while. This has happened twice in a week when trying to use the mixer. This is incredibly inconvenient and the mixer is supposed to be more powerful. The attachment began to tarnish after being washed. When we received the attachment, it was nickel silver. It has been washed twice, yet it is dull and looks like a piece of silver. Don't waste your money on this mixer. We are not happy customers so we need to return asap.
👤I didn't open the box. I needed a second stand mixer for a project that would require the use 3-4 times in a week. I didn't think the mixers would allow use for longer than that. The drive unit was probably plastic and the moter was too light when I received it. The entire unit would weigh more than a 1000 watt motor alone. The motor is rated at 1000 watt but only if the drive shaft is attached. If I brased the body down and held the shaft by the dough hook, the motor wouldn't spin. I would have done this to prove my point. I bet I wouldn't be allowed to return it. The hand mixer from 1995 was made of plastic, but this device was lighter. The people who are just starting to cook are the ones who give the 5 star reviews. The unit will mix a cake if it's not very dense, but it will burn out in a short time. If you bought a pancake cake mix, I think it will do what you need for at least a little while. It might do the job for you if you are looking for a desposible mer. If you want a unit that will last a long time, you should buy a unit from one of the big 4 makers, even the low end units that are $200 or so will last you a decade of regular use.

Also included: Dash Stand Mixer is backed by a 1-year manufacturer warranty and includes a 3 quart mixing bowl, 2 dough hooks, 2 mixer beaters, recipe book and recipe database access, all of which are dishwasher safe.
👤Poor quality product. It was loud and didn't mix flour well. It's hard to clean. I decided to return the product immediately after using it for the first time. It was done twice before purchasing. I got what I paid for, that's a lesson I learned. Poor product. Do not recommend.
👤The little mixer has been useful. It works well and is not noisy. The bowl can be easily removed by turning it. The beaters and bowl are dishwasher safe. It has a switch on the base that can change the position of the bowl so that it can blend in the center or blend along the sides of the bowl. It is easy to remove bowl or beaters. I drag a silicone batter spatula along the sides to help remove any ingredients stuck to the side of the bowl. It looks great sitting on my counter top. I have always wanted a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, but until we win the lottery. This is a great alternative for a budget that is effective and cute.
👤This was the second time I used this. The blades have been difficult to insert. It worked the first time. The blade broke making mashed potatoes. You could see where the hinges were rusted. I just bought this. I have to make a new dish. I have to clean it up. Very disappointed.
👤I bought this even though I was told to save up for the 300$ brand. I've used this for 4 different cakes and it's worked great. All the reviews said it was not heavy enough to kill a man. The weight has not made it perform badly. It is starting to feel like all the reviews that said to just buy kitchen aid are lying. The brand looks cute.
👤This product was disappointing. I was surprised by how light it felt. It was very loud. I was hoping for something better than a handheld mixer, but I decided against it. Baking more than simple box recipes that don't require low or medium speeds is not recommended. This seems to have high speeds only. It was a big disappointment and I hate to be so negative.
👤The price of other stand mixers is much higher. Several batches of Oatmeal Scotchie cookies have already been made as well as several cakes with homemade frosting, which is a good thing, but the head tilt is a little awkward to manage, and the beaters are hard to remove, only one bowl. I would recommend this to a person with limited funds who needs a stand mixer. It does its job.
👤I just saw the price and it makes me angry. I paid a lot for this. It just stopped working after 6 months. How is it going for $37 now?
👤I love it! It works well, is easy to clean, and looks great in my kitchen. The lowest speed is still pretty high.
👤I was not sure if the mixer would work. It is light and flimsy, which was not surprising considering the price. I have used it a few times now and my initial impressions have been disproved. I've used it to make mashed potatoes, 2 very dense cookie batters, and a few other recipes. I wanted to know if it would be good for people with limited strength. It's light and easy to fit the bowl underneath, so it would be good for this purpose. I plan to buy one for my sister. She will be able to use the mixer easily. It's worth the low cost.

👤It is very easy to use. The power of the suction is very high. While you are working with it, your mixer won't move.
👤It is a good mixer to use for cooking.

👤I thought the mixer was good, but it turns out it's not. I was wondering why the mixer is light, but I realized it was made with plastic. The mixer can't evenly mix. It's not worth the money. It's poor made and design. Returned the product.
👤I like the size of the bowl, but it is flimsy and not a good quality bowl. The housing is made of plastic. When I tried to mix a box cake mix, the beater left a lot of dry ingredients around the bowl and on the bottom. I had to mix it myself. You get what you pay for. This one is leaving. I got a different machine from everyone else who gave a good review. Maybe it's okay for a 10 year old to learn.
👤I should have known better to buy a mixer for under $200. It was thought that this would help us speed up our batches by being able to triple them as opposed to only tripling them. The beater doesn't come close enough to the sides or bottom of the bowl to properly mix. Their customer service was quick but they said all their products are this way and they can't help us.
👤I've wanted a stand mixer for a long time. I'm trying to make this one work for me. It is disappointing so far. The sides and bottom of the bowl are where the attachment is not allowed. It was put on the second to highest speed to cream softened butter with sugar and eggs, and still had some results. I cannot close the top with the splash guard on because it does not fit properly. I can't use the splash guard. The top is bulky, and I can't watch ingredients being mixed because there is only a small gap between the top and the edge of the bowl. This doesn't mean that the attachments are in the space. They are rotating around the middle. I have to lift the bulky top to get to the sides and bottom of the bowl. I'm considering returning the mixer. I am starting to believe that it is not lack of experience on my end, but rather poor quality that is at fault.
👤Everything else is good, but the large bowl is easy to clean. The large bowl of the mixer is described as powerful enough to mix large batches of dough. I was looking forward to making many batches of cakes and cookies. I had to keep mixing by hand since the attachment on the bowl doesn't reach the sides or bottom of the bowl. It was useless for making cookie dough. The mixer shut itself off when the paddle wouldn't turn the dough. The dough didn't mix when I tried it with the dough hook. The dough was pushed to the side of the bowl after it made a well. The bowl shield doesn't fit properly so the mixer won't lock down and jump around since it's not locked. As long as you mix everything on the first speed, the shield isn't really needed. It would be a good mixer for someone else but not for me. I will return it.

👤Not as seen on the picture. The picture has a kneading attachment. The attachment came in the pictures, which was the only reason I bought this mixer. Very disappointed. Wasted time and money.
👤It was a Christmas gift. The mixer was junk when it was in the box. It makes a loud noise and a burning smell when I turn it on. I was told I would have to go through Hamilton Beach when I tried to return via Amazon. I was told I could get a new mixer if I paid $11.49 for shipping. If the replacement didn't work, it would have to be shipped back and the replacement would have to be paid for. Hamilton Beach refused to waive shipping on a DEFECTIVE product that I have only used 5 times while Amazon skirted the issue with dates despite this being a product that was opened as a Christmas gift less than 2 months ago. There was a half star option for both of you.
👤A mixer that has a slow speed that doesn't throw everything out of the bowl is finally a thing. This is my 3rd try, with the other two having had 3 speeds, so I can really enjoy this one. It is still within reason, so I'm happy.
👤I bought this hand mixer to replace an old one that I bought a long time ago for less than $10 I liked that hand mixer. I owned it for many years and never had a problem with it. I wouldn't have replaced it if it weren't for the fact that the plug was accidentally submerged in cooking oil. I decided to upgrade to the Hamilton Beach mixer that had more speed options because I didn't want to risk a fire hazard. I liked the snap on this mixer because I was constantly looking for my beater attachment and I wanted it with me. I have to say that it is ok, not spectacular, after using it a few times. The carrying case is convenient. It's good for combining ingredients at a slow speed. I like that it comes with a whisk attachment, it's heavier than my previous mixer, and it's tiring my hand sooner than I would like. The front of the mixer has a dusting of cocoa powder or cinnamon on it. * The beaters are too close together, which makes it harder to remove the batter from the mixer, so I prefer the less expensive mixer I had before. I might consider buying something else.
👤I wanted a hand held mixer that would allow me to quickly mix and blend cakes and icing. The mixer did nothing of the sort. The blades are advertised as being quick to fall out. This product is garbage and you should not spend your money on it.
👤I bought this as a replacement for a high end mixer that had great reviews. The mixer cannot hold a candle to this one. The high end mixer was highly rated even though it was only a 3-speed. Well... I used it 3 times and bought it. This is the one to replace it. ! Power is powerful. I like the storage feature of the beater. Highly recommended.

You will get more time to bake and less time scrubbing with the included accessories. The design of silver and red is sturdy. The dimensions are 7.2 x 4.3 x 3 inches. 5 feet is the length of the cable.
👤I chose this mixer because of its good price point and it's attachment which is STAINLESS STEEL. I was very impressed with the product as a whole. The mixer is light and compact, which makes it easier to manage and store. The first speed is slow, unlike most mixers I have used in my life. Imagine mixing liquids without splattering. It operates at half the noise level of my old one. I can't say enough good things about it.
👤I need a hand mixer to make seven minute frosting, and a few other times when my Kitchen Aid stand mixer is already doing something else. The instruction booklet was for this product. It says you have to stop the mixer after 5 minutes. It won't work for me. Information about how long you can run the thing is not provided online. I'm on my second Kitchen Aid stand mixer after 40 years of baking, so I'll give their hand mixer a try even though it has those skinny little wire beaters. This one is leaving.
👤The mixer is cheap. The beaters started to rust after a few uses. The motor was burning out and it was struggling from the beginning. The beaters broke after less than 10 uses. Total waste of money!
👤I had a 220 watt hand mixer for 15 years and it did faithful service. I ordered this VonShef because I might not be in the US for very long and so should get something cheap and basic. Even at max, it gets up to half the speed of my old machine, but it's 888-282-0465. It smells! I will probably send it back because it is a piece of rubbish.
👤The first time I ordered this, there were no beaters in the box. They sent a new one. It made a big popping sound when I used it to whip cream. I thought it blew something. A big black powdery substance was shot out the bottom of the counter and into the whipped cream. There were broken pieces when I turned it off. I have never ordered anything from this company before and will not do so in the future.
👤I was going on a trip and wanted to make a cherry pie-cake. I needed to bring my own mixer because my host didn't have one. I didn't need to read the instructions to bake because this little hand mixer was easy to assemble. I used the mixer to mix the butter and sugar. It made the mixture creamy. I added 3 eggs and 3 cups of flour and it worked out. It was easy to clean up. Great product!
👤Fantastic mixer. The price and quality are great. There is a The beaters are made of steel. The VonShef Electric Mixer is a must have.
👤So far, so good. I have been using the electric hand mixer a lot and I am very pleased with it. It came with the beaters, hooks and whisk. I've used it for muffins, bread and cheesecake. There were no complaints about the different types of batter. The product is a great price.

Dough Hook, Whisk and Flat Beater are included. The three Attachments are dishwasher safe. The use of the Kitchenaid Trademark does not imply any association with or endorsement of Kitchenaid or Whirlpool Properties.
👤I don't like to review things until we own them for a long time. We purchased this gift as a present and it ended up being duplicated. We already own a KitchenAid so I held on to it thinking it would be a good Christmas gift, but was surprised when I opened it a few weeks later. I tell people that if they need a KitchenAid, they already know it, and if they don't, I'd buy one of these. It's smaller, easier to store, and a bit quieter, probably due to being smaller. It has the same action as a KitchenAid. It costs less. It has been able to handle the stiffest of doughs and stickiest of batters. The KitchenAid bowl is narrow and tall, which means you have to stop the mixer and tilt the head to get to the sides of the bowl, but this is only mildly annoying. The KitchenAid paddle mixer is metal while the plastic one hasn't presented any problems. I've had no trouble making dough in the Hamilton Beach, even though the KitchenAid dough hook seems more substantial. Attachments don't support it. If I just need to mix something, 80% of the time, I'm getting out the Hamilton Beach mixer and not the KitchenAid. The KitchenAid doesn't offer any advantages for basic mixing duty. I'll pull out the KitchenAid if I need to grind meat. If I want to make pasta, I prefer the Hamilton Beach. The reason I compare it to KitchenAid is because they seem to be the standard when it comes to stand mixers, but if you're just mixing cakes, cookies, bread, etc., give this model a serious look, it's been great so far.
👤I don't want to invest in a stand mixer. They are very expensive. My son spent a fortune on one for his girlfriend. I need to make my own things if I want to be a gluten free person. I can't make decent breads without a mixer. After a lot of looking at different brands. I chose this one. I am very happy with this mixer. It works well. I have to use a lot of stiff recipes. The mixer can do the job. I rely on reviews to make purchases. If you find my work helpful to you, please click yes for me. Thank you! Feel free to ask any question.
👤Black soot is coming off the dough blade. We would have eaten it mixed into the dough if we had not noticed. Don't buy this product.
👤This is the third mixer that I've purchased from Amazon. The first Bodum stand mixer worked well until it broke. The second model, a two beater model, has survived, but as much as I wanted to like it, I found that it just didn't mix well and required me to move the bowl manually and otherwise fiddle with it constantly. I knew it was time to replace the Sunbeam when I found myself reverting to using an ancient hand mixer. The Hamilton Beach was put through its paces today. I made a bunch of bread dough with 5 cups of flour. The upper limit of the mixers capacity was definitely reached here. The motor overheated when the dough was finished. I thought I had broken it. The mixer recovered in the time it took me to wash the dishes. I made half a dozen reverse-creamed cup cakes. The mixer performed well and didn't need a lot of bowl scrapers. I made half a bunch of ermine frosting and it was the same as before. The last thing I made was yeast rolls. I used the dough hook instead of the flat beater and the dough came together quickly. So far, so good. I'm not too worried about how long this mixer will last because of the low price and the four- year product protection that I bought for it. It was inexpensive and I wish it had a bigger capacity. I have used a friend's Kitchen Aid on a number of occasions, and I would say that the Hamilton Beach is a bit better at this price point.

The whisk beaters can be safely removed with the Beater Eject button. The Fantastic Value includes a free bonus snap-on case that holds everything in one place. Customer Service in the US lets you buy with confidence. The product will be free from defects in material and workmanship for one year from the original purchase date.
👤I got this because of the reviews. When it arrived, I was shocked. The beaters are small compared to my last one. I like the idea of a storage container to keep stuff nicely packed. This would be perfect if you were making cupcakes or brownies. Don't try dough because it will break. The speeds are fast. It is awkward if you use a deep bowl because the beaters don't reach the bottom of the bowl. This may be good for you if you don't bake often. I use mine a lot during the Holiday season. Sending it back will cost more.
👤I gave this product a 5 star rating because it was pretty red and worked, I had used it once and it worked. I don't use a mixer much and have just recently tried to use it and it won't work, my husband is an electrician and he said the motor was burned up and it couldn't be repaired, since it has been so long and I don't have the paperwork I wanted you to know that it was a good product.
👤I took the hand mixer out of the box. I was impressed that they handled it well and even had a storage compartment that was awesome. I thought I had made a mistake when I started mixing at number one speed. I wanted to slow it down. It was on the number 1 speed. You can't tell the difference between one through four and the fifth speed. I bought this to replace a ToastMaster mixer and I understand that it is an opinion. I put them together and turned on Them. The number five speed on my old hand mixer is slower than the one speed on one. I cannot slow down with this handmixer because I need to be fast.
👤I'm disappointed that all the speeds seem the same, but it will probably be fine. The design is nice. I don't have to take the beaters off because of the button. The mixer's enclosed loop handle is a good safety feature. The caddy is very small. I love the way it stores. It's easy to put away because it takes up very little room in my cabinets. It's better than my last mixer, but I miss the slower speed setting. The mixer is a good purchase and a good value.
👤I've used a lot of hand mixers, and this one is the worst yet. There are several big issues with this mixer. Speed 1 is very high. There is nothing you would need to do in order to bake at a faster speed than the first. A huge amount of recipes specify the desired outcome. I don't know why a mixer would start on high. For baking purposes, this is actually a 1 speed mixer. 2. The back of the mixer has the cord in it. It was almost impossible to keep the cord from getting in the bowl when I used both hands. Trying to switch to different bowls. Didn't help. 3. The front of the mixer has large vents for the fan and motor. After a single use, I had a lot of flour and cookie dough. There is no way to get it out of there. The mixer would be useless after a few more uses. I don't want a chunk of months old cookie dough to get knocked out of the mixer and into something I am making. That is gross. 4. I don't like beaters. The machine is so fast that it is really bad at mixing ingredients. The texture of the combined ingredients just wound up getting smooth no matter what I did, because it took way longer to mix than usual. This was the recipe for years and never had an issue with it. It was really weird. You have to be able to cream butter well in mixer 101. Come on! The lightest mixer I have tried is this one. I went for it because I wanted to be nicer to my hands. The mixer doesn't do the job. No matter how simple of a recipe you want it for, there are so many design flaws. I was making cookies that I've made a million times. Hope some people read this and it will save you time trying it on your own.

👤I write good reviews about products I buy, use, and wear. I wanted a budget version for a cooking class, but I was not ready to buy a Kitchenaid because of the price, so I got this one. The quality of the beaters was not great, the mixer was loud and messy, and the flour was all over the place. I had to use my old hand mixer because I couldn't remove it from the stand. The bowl was the only thing that I liked and I returned it because it was useless.
👤It is supposed to be a stand mixer. You don't learn anything until you open it and read the manual, and that's because you're not supposed to use the dough hooks while using it as a stand mixer. You're supposed to hold the mixer in one hand and a bowl of dough in the other, and use it to knead the dough without either one being wrenched, or dropped, to the floor because bread dough is very stiff. It was useless. I own a hand mixer.
👤I only used the mixer twice to make pizza dough. When the switch is on, the mixer gets warm. I expected more from this brand and will be requesting a refund. I don't recommend this product.
👤I noticed a few annoying problems when I used this for the first time. I had to remove the bowl and use it as a hand mixer because it didn't seem to want to rotate the way I needed it. The attachment didn't want to stay in the correct position. When I tried to make a frosting with it, it began to emit a burning plastic smell, and shot out a few puffs of smoke. I immediately turned it off and went back to my old mixer. I bought this as a starting stand mixer for my home bakery business, and have a few other Hamilton Beach products I've been very pleased with. It's going back and I'm very disappointed.
👤Make sure to check your mixer pieces. I was washing mine and the metal was falling off of it. Thankfully I checked before I used it. I tried this mixer out to see if it was worth it, and it was crazy. I tried it on some cake batter and it was crazy and smelled like burning electrical... save yourself the time and money. It isn't worth it.
👤We knew that the mixer would be returned when we took it out of the box. The beaters were small and flimsy and the whole thing was made out of plastic. We decided to try it out. It was confirmed that we would send it back. The cake batter never got fully mixed, and the beaters did not reach to the outside of the bowl. Amazon has an easy return policy.
👤The product is pretty good. It is missing a way to lock the bowl in place. It spins with the mixer. When you turn your back on it, it speeds up and flings whatever you were mixing in a beautiful circle pattern all around your kitchen. It's hard to clean under the spinning wheel. The mixer part works well.

👤I liked the option that came with other things, I wanted a handheld cake mixer. My favorite items were the additional ones. It comes with 7 mixing bowls and I have many different sizes. There is a I had a Betty Crocker, but it is made out of plastic, so I could not measure hot liquids. There are 2 types of mixing parts and 10 different speed speeds.
👤The bowls have held up well. The mixer is missing a few settings, but it works fine. I would recommend it for the right price. The product is pretty good upon inspection. I have no comments on longevity because it just arrived. There is a The measuring cups, bowls, and spoons are very sturdy and I expect them to live. The mixer seems to not work on the first few settings. I'm pretty pleased with what we got.
👤The hand mixer is difficult to use. The low speed is almost as fast as the highest speed. The flour and dry ingredients are everywhere. I wish I hadn't bought this.
👤The only reason I gave this product 4 stars is because the motor on the mixer burnt out. I was not happy with this because it happened when I was making a cake for my daughter. Bowls, measuring cups, and measuring spoons are great. The product was great.
👤You would think that the lowest speed would be slower than it is, because it is 7 speeds. I wouldn't buy it again. The metal bowls, measuring cups and spoons are what make this set worth the price. The mixer has 7 speeds, but they are all the same speed. The metal bowls and measuring cups and spoons are the only things worth anything. The mixer is not sanitary.
👤I have to update my review. I tried using the bowls for a fourth time after washing them and they still left a black oily mess on my hands. I don't know what is happening but I don't want to buy it. When I found this set, I was looking for a mixer. I thought this was a good deal because I could use the bowls. The bowls are sturdy. Even though I washed the bowls before use, I found an oily black substance under the lip of all the bowls and it was MzE I had to wash them again. I'm not sure if it was normal for bowls to be oiled. Have no idea. The mixer is terrible. It's small and hard to mix anything. It is loud. I used it to mix cake batter and it slowed down considerably even on the highest speed. The mixer emitted a terrible smokey smell after two uses. I'm not sure if I should use it again or just chalk it up to a loss. If you are looking for nice bowls and measuring cups, this is an ok set. If you only need the mixer, I would pick a different one.
