Best Reusable Pan Liners for Baking

👤These mats are not of the highest quality. They developed black charred spots on the first use on the sections that were exposed and no amount of scrubbing will remove them. This has happened with two of them. My other mats have never done this. I will never purchase anything made by this company again. I did not notice that this is the second product I have bought from this brand. I threw the packaging away when I tried to return them.

👤I bought this set so I could use it in different sizes. I'm enjoying them all. I used to bake sweet potatoes in the oven with foil or paper. I use one of my mats. It's a little more difficult than throwing away paper, but it's more eco-friendly. The mats are easy to clean. Food can easily be wiped off. I like the size of the mat for my pans. Great price too. I have only had them for a month, so I didn't rate them. We will see how they hold up. They're doing well so far.

👤2 of them were used 3 times. Set at 7 on my cooker. They have burned marks on them. I'm pretty sure the temp didn't reach 480 degrees for 7 and 4 minutes. There were still higher settings. I like that they are easy to clean and non stick. Sad that they look bad now. Will they remain easy to clean? Thank you.

👤Parchment paper was my only other option when it came to baking. I consume a lot of paper when I bake. Silicone baking mat is re-usable and seems to be more environmental friendly. It is something that is touching the food, so I worry about safety. I got my baking mat here and I'm happy with the result. These are made from food grade silicone and can bake at a wide range of temperatures. They do not need to be pre-greased. I have used these mats several times and they seem to work better than parchment paper for stickier food. The food would not be sticky on the mat. The mats are very easy to clean. They can be rolled up and put in a cabinet or drawer. I used the mat to make dough on the counter top. After that, rinse it and it will be clean again. These mats are very good. They are safe and convenient.

👤I only gave one star because I received them. These are not good. I don't know why, but the bottoms of the batches I made burned. When I told them to screw it, my cookies were perfect. I threw them out after 5 attempts to clean them. Spend the money on mats. I have learned that going the cheap route is not a good idea.

👤I bought these a year or so ago, and have been using them almost weekly for muffins - I loved the convenience and fun colors. They have a smell when baking and have a soapy taste. I was reading a cookbook over the weekend and it said that you can use Silicone baking cups, but be sure to choose 100% Silicone products, other products not only are less effective but also tend to smell. It's a bad word! I noticed that the "food grade Silicone" was not the same as " 100% food grade Silicone" when I looked at my order. There are other things in there. The discussions around the pinch test weren't in the reviews back then. I've ordered different ones that say they are 100% silicone because these will be going in the trash. I wonder what I've been eating for the past year. If you haven't bought them yet, why risk it?

👤I used these for making homemade lotion bars. The bars looked nice with the crinkled edges. A friend gave me a recipe for Body Butter Bars, which are made with cocoa butter and virgin coconut oil. Combine ingredients in a heat resistant jar or measuring cup and melt in a pan filled with a couple of inches of water on low/medium heat. Remove the molds when the melted lotion is set until hardened. They smell like coconut, honey and chocolate when rubbed on the skin.

👤I bought these for the non stick properties and was disappointed. You can see that even muffins leave a mess that needs to be cleaned. I wanted them to be able to cook eggs in the oven. They were super-stick, not non-stick. It took me 15 minutes to clean the cups after they had been in the water for an hour. If I had made a regular muffin tin and soaked it for an hour, it would only take me 5 minutes to clean them, so why would I ever use them? The ridges on the muffin tin make it easier to clean. I don't understand the rave reviews. These are bright and colorful, but I use a muffin tin because it is more eco-friendly and less frustrating.

👤We tried to eat the baked muffins, but they had a nasty taste from the supposedly real liners. They are not 100% Silicone. There wouldn't be a yucky aftertaste if they were. The money was wasted.

All in great value, but not in the way I was expecting.

👤Do not buy these! I put one in the oven. I have an oven. I opened the door after preheating to 350 degrees and the smell in my kitchen was so bad that I had to use my asthma inhalers, open windows and turn on the exhaust. It burned my eyes. The entire bottom of my oven was bright red when I removed the liner after putting my head near the oven. I put my dinner in the oven and it was still raw 45 minutes later. I needed to cook it an additional 30 minutes. I hope the crappy liner doesn't ruin my oven. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone. They are terrible. Whatever chemical they coat it with is toxic. My daughter is laboring to breathe. I am angry. I put the refund on a gift card for Amazon after I returned the 9 that were left. I'm even more angry now. I can't even get my money back now that I couldn't use the liners. The way of doing business is shady.

👤I bought these because they were cheap and a multi-pack that would allow me to replace them often and keep my oven clean. They were of poor quality and size. If you have a standard sized oven, these won't give you accurate coverage. I assumed all oven liners were the same size. If I center the liner perfectly in my oven, I will have a 2.5 inch gap on either side which is exactly where most spills occur. I wouldn't purchase them because of the smell. The first time I used one, most of my kitchen was filled with the smell of hot metal, but I have never encountered the smell from a piece of aluminum cookware. I washed the liner and only slightly reduced the smell. An under-performing product is disappointing, but I now own 10 of them thanks to the multi-pack I purchased.

👤You have to know two things about these. Before you cook with them in your oven the first time, put them in and put your oven on a high temp for 30 minutes. They give off a horrible smell when new. After a while, this goes away. There are two more Many reviewers say that one sheet doesn't cover the whole bottom. The solution is really easy. You can overlap them in the middle. The narrowest size is what the ovens have to be designed for. Double up and over lap if yours is wider. They are the same thickness as name brands and will only melt if you abuse them. They will melt if you leave them in the oven. Do not let them get close to the burners. They need to be straight. They will melt if they swell up near a wire. If you have a gas oven, make sure you don't cover the burner vent or they will melt and reduce the performance of the oven. Simple stuff, but some people don't consider it.

👤These foil liners should be used with care. I didn't know if they should be on the bottom of the stove. They melted in the oven and can't be removed. Only use on the bottom metal rack of the oven.

👤The black mat and the mesh are flimsy plastic that does not seem like it would be safe to eat. The plastic bottoms are similar to the grocery bags. The red sheet has no value for use on its own.

👤I'm happy to have a replacement for my mini loaf pan. I had to clean my old metal pans after baking because there was always a bit of cake stuck in the corners and I wanted to use it again. These are a little bit larger than my mini-loaf pans, but they are still a good size. They probably hold the same amount. I made a box of muffin mix and filled it with pans. I was surprised that the loafs still had a golden edge even though they weren't in a metal pan. There is no difference between using a metal pan and Silicone bakeware. I didn't use a spray, but I will use one in the future. The mini loafs were easy to make even without the spray. I let them soak in some water and sprayed it out. I'm happy to get rid of the loaf pan because these stack nicely when they aren't in use. I'm going to replace my tins with silicone and I'll save a lot of space. There is an update. I've been using them for a while. I wanted to let you know that if you use a non-stick spray, it will not stick. The loaf will slide right out if I have a crumb or two on the liner. I fill the sink with soapy water and let the liners soak for a bit, then they are ready to dry and store away.

👤I have made Popovers at least 3 times a week for several years and these Baking Cups are perfect for that. We love them. I have used popover pans before. I use melted butter to pour the batter into the pan. They have begun to stick in the pans. Even with a plastic knife, it is difficult to remove them. No matter what I do, it will still damage the pan. I bought a Silicone to try with the Popover liner cups. They fit perfectly in my popover pans. I made a batches using my recipe last week. I was surprised that the recipe made 8 instead of 6. The popovers are almost lifting themselves up out of the pan because of that bonus. They are bigger than the pictures show, which is a bonus.

👤I used these to make fluid art. When I need a relatively small amount of resin split up and separately colored, these work great. The inside is smooth, which makes it easier to clean up. A lot of beaker style Silicone cups have markers on the inside which makes it nearly impossible to clean. These help with the smooth inside. I use these for mixing up flow acrylic colors in small batches and they work great. The higher edge can be used to pour over the canvas, like a pour spout, so it works well for that. The smooth surface on the inside helps with clean up. I don't use these for baking, so I can't speak to that. The quality of the material is good. The cups are flexible, but sturdy, and can stand up on their own, even if I have a bit too tall of a stir stick set in there. The cups are flexible, so keep that in mind when filling them with liquid. Make sure to give yourself room at the top so you don't accidentally squeeze it. All of these are great for the price and awesome for artwork mixing cups, which help reduce waste.

👤I thought this idea was great. They looked like they would be easy to clean. Within minutes our two Parakeets were dead after we smelt a strange smell. There should be a warning on this product. If it can kill birds in a matter of seconds, what is it doing to our children? Be careful.

👤The oven mat for the bottom of the electric/gas oven is the best oven liner you will ever use. I bought this because the blurb said I could put one on the bottom of my oven. The box it comes in says I can't. The description is deceptive, but I'm sure it's a fine oven liner.

👤Cut it to the size you need. Keeping my oven clean. I don't have to clean it for half a day. I was able to wipe it off after I had something on the oven liner. Very easy. I am so happy with these.

👤I like anything that helps with clean up. We used to cover the bottom of the oven with foil to catch the drips, but now we use the little oven all the time. It will be easier to clean it up with this liner. Since it's a pack of 3, we were able to cut one for the toast, have one for the big oven and still have one left over.

I recommend putting the mat in an empty oven and turning it on for 20 minutes. That way the smell won't be a problem. No smell for future baking once done. I had oven mats that could be used on the bottom of the oven, under the electric heat element or on the flat surface if there was no electric heat element present. The mats are not on line. Two stars are due to the above.

👤We put them on the bottom rack of the oven. I am very happy that we bet these, as they saved the bottom of the oven. You put the oven liners in the oven. It's easy to use. They can be difficult to wipe down if you don't do it while they are warm. We had to throw one away because it couldn't come clean, but now we clean them more frequently.

👤I was able to solve the problem of the smell and taste that people complain about when cooking cookies because I did this. 1.- Take the oven for 30 minutes at 180 C or 350 F and Grease both sides with vegetable oil. 5. Prepare and wash very well.

👤I replaced this pack of liners 3 years ago because of wear. I never put the spatula in the dishwasher. I replaced the lining because it came off the old set. It is reasonable to replace the set after 3 years. It was great for the price. Highly recommended!

👤I have had these for over a year and they are still in perfect condition. I use them for everything from roasting veggies to baking cookies. Sometimes they'll get marked up, but they always come off with a good scrub. As long as you cook it fully, nothing sticks to them. They don't work well for cookies if they have grease on them, so they need to be hand washed.

👤I would not be without them for non-stick baking and having 3 means more production in less time for less money. These mats are indispensable in other ways. When I want a safe cutting board, I put one on a countertop, table, butcher block, synthetic, or wood, big and thick or small and thin, and lay it on top of one of these mats. No sliding, creeping or slipping on the cutting board! The cutting boards stick to each other. Safety, speed and frustration are gone! I put one on the bottom of a transport box if I have to drive a large baked item or pot or pan of product from one location to another. I have a reliable work surface when I arrive for finishing. You can put a pie pan over the dough and flip it over to eliminate the worry of tearing, which is always a concern when doing GF baking. A breeze to clean. It can be rolled, banded or stacked. A lifesaver in an active home kitchen is a real asset.

👤I've wanted a set of these for a long time. I like how food can easily be removed from them and how nice my baked goods are. They protect my pans from wear and tear, and they've allowed me to cut down/eliminate aluminum foil. I don't like cleaning them, it's a pain. That's not the fault of this product, it's just how it is with silicone mats. I've had success washing them in the dishwasher if you can prop them up just right so they get cleaned and dried from all angles.

👤The first time I used it, it was in the oven for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. It melted in the oven and left a white powder covering the inside of the oven and a pile of ash outside. I've had some before, but never like this. I'm not sure if this is a knock off or not, but my oven is a disaster, and then smoke/ash got into the fan unit, and I'm not sure what to do. It's a terrible thing.

👤When I ordered my Silpat, I bought new baking pans. I roasted some veggies at 350 and the Silpat melted onto the pan. The pan and mat are ruined. I am disappointed that the veggies didn't stick to the silpat, but I am even more disappointed that my new baking pan is ruined.

👤I think the rave reviews are from people who don't own an authentic Silpat baking mat. I ordered this because I was curious about the low cost and wanted to compare it to the one I already owned. I could tell it wasn't right when I took it out of the packaging. The baking mats were supposed to be folded in half. They were meant to be stored in rolled or flat form, so no care was taken in shipping it. It felt more like a light plastic than a Silpat. The construction appeared to be a cheapened replica. I returned it immediately, so it could still be a useful baking mat. If you are looking for an authentic Silpat, I would encourage you to purchase it from a trusted retailer. Bed Bath & Beyond, Williams and Sonoma carry them.

👤As soon as I opened the box, I knew something was wrong. It was clear that I had a fake when I compared the mats I received with the one I already owned. The edges of a fake are wrapped in plastic film and rolled into a cardboard sleeve and feel rough when you run a finger over them. The logo and lettering are shiny, but the strands themselves are not tightly woven. The letters are printed on the silicone. Be sure to inspect what you receive because they have very crisp edges. I might have been deceived if I didn't have an authentic one to compare the fakes with.

I went back to the order page and found that the listing said to boil it in hot water before using it to clean the release agent off. There is a I made a frozen pizza after it was boiled. I was looking for a crunch and no smell, and this one was much better. The mat was easy to clean.

👤You should boil this mat before using it. To find this out, you must read the reviews or look at the bottom of the page. There is no information on how long you are supposed to cook this. I don't own a pot that is large enough to boil this without folding it and finding something to hold it down. It's almost impossible to get all the sticky stuff off of this thing because it keeps popping up. A total PITA is what it is. 5 minutes in not long enough, 10 minutes in not long enough. I don't get the flimsy fiberglass pizza pan LINER. Why don't they take care of this step in the manufacturing process? The amount of energy and resources required to remove that substance from your home would be more efficient if it were done in a batches. I don't know if it's going back, but I will never order from this company again, because I haven't yet tried to make a pizza on it.

👤I made the same mistake of rolling pizza dough directly on the mat after reading another review. It makes it very difficult to clean. I lay the crust on the mat. It works well. Lesson learned. The mat performs as expected. There were no instructions to explain how to handle mesh differently than a solid silicone baking mat.

👤I bought a mat to cook cauliflower pizza. The pizza crusts came with a screen. This solved my problems. I have bought baking dishes and sheets. They are all the best. No need for sprays like Pam. They are easy to clean up.

👤This is a nice addition to my pizza stone. If you do use it for pizza on your stone, keep in mind that your pizza won't have that extra crunch on the bottom like I do. 👤The oven is hot and intense. I always turn the temp down by 10 to 25 degrees and my food still burns on the bottom. This has eliminated the problem of me having to scrub my baking sheet and soak it in. I use a light scrub with soap to get the food off. It is crazy that the oil just slides off. Do it.
